  1. Not a chance the ground would increase electrical 2v. Maybe .2v.
  2. Should be a sweet build! make sure to post in the Build log section as you progress in installing everything!
  3. Including Satellite radio and perhaps a digital output? If you do high end decks a 6 channel digital output would be sweet. Something to that would integrate with the Alpine PXA-H701
  4. Running a full length ground will, in most cases carry less resistance than the body of the car.
  5. http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Earthquake_PHD5000W/ Doesn't look like a 3000w amp to me.
  6. Yes, I can help you out. With what?
  7. There are a lot of different variables at work in SPL cars. Usually competitors build their boxes more than once to achieve a higher score each time. It might be louder at 38hz, it might not. It also might be louder to your ear and more quiet to the mic. You'll have to play with it to get it to a perfect point. You might consider an interchangeable port plug.
  8. 1 XJ 15" 7.4^3ft tuned to 25hz..
  9. 33-37hz would be nice.
  10. Depends on tuning. That's quite a large step up from your current one though.
  11. The port on a cubed box would be like... .3^3ft depending on tuning. Or you could use an Aero port.
  12. Its a sealed box. You'd maybe have a point with a ported one. But not with sealed.
  13. How do you know its not already moving like it was supposed too? A bigger box won't solve your excursion problem. If you want more low end, try putting it in a sealed box. How do you have it wired to the amp?

You'll want to wire like this For a 2 ohm final load. Unless you have the funds and the electrical system to get a .5 ohm stable amplifier. Look for a used Kicker ZX2500.1 (stable @ 2 ohms) and set your gains with an O-scope, and you'll be fine.
  15. Just PM me or someone else next time. It's not a big deal, takes under 5 min.
  16. I was thinking specifically G35/37 and the 350Z. Also BMW 3 series molds to Dash as well.
  17. Its a different kind of cold that we're talking about here. Freezing the motors is far different from inside temperature of the car. It also probably isn't audibly louder to the human ear, but to expensive SPL metering equipment.. you'll see it.
  18. That look better?
  19. Probably shoot a little higher than that if you want it to be loud. See where 33-35hz puts you.
  20. Probably the higher end models with integrated radios would be smart, but harder to make. Stuff like Nissan where they now mold the radio into the dash, bleck.
  21. Looks loud, what other upgrades did you do?
  22. Sounds more like an installation problem than a speaker problem.
  23. IIRC the 40.1 LOVES .5 ohms. He's gonna definitely need a new alternator to support 3 of them though.
