Overkill
It's essentially the same. The Overkill looks to be a bit thicker.

The "X"con 12" prototype has arrived
no date is set, but we are only weeks away Sick... Will the work in 2.7 cubes ported to 40? The are designed to be lowend beasts. Why are you so caught up on 40 hz? 40 will work, but you will miss a great deal of your music if you tune that high. Thats what my box is tuned to now.. Really dont want to change it now it looks so nice.. But I may for new subs.. That's foolish. You're limiting the potential of any new subwoofer you try by not building a box to it's specific specifications. Oh noes! It won't look "pretty".

Arsenal 10"s failing??
Guy sounds like a tard. A recone will replace the suspension...

which set-up should i go with?
Lol. That amp is so under rated its ridiculous. You'll murder those subs at 1 ohm and lock the coils at .5 in a matter of seconds. It was more like 2200 @ 1 ohm 12v for the last 20.1. The new one makes even more power.

Head Unit/Amp Issue!
Did you make sure the preout's on the deck actually work? Is the amp turning on? Are the wires from the amp to the speakers making good contact?

There isn't much room available back there. And the rear tower bar takes up most of it. there is a guide in the trunk for fitting two golf bags in though

IA Flatlyne Review from Andy Jones & Robert Petty
Some audiophile, hint, hint, should do a great 12" challenge for SQ subwoofers. If I had the time and resources ($$$), I'd gladly round up a couple of my favorites. Probably wouldn't do anything except subs that were produced within the last 2 years to keep it fair.

MEMPHIS AMP FI BTL
I'm gonna go with you're tuned too high, and you don't have your subsonic filter set correctly.. and you're playing below tuning. Depending on what size BTL you have.. 7.5^3ft is a bit large.

out with the old batteries in with the new.....
Used batteries... eh. Depending on age that could be a good deal. Get them load tested and see how they fair against a brand new one. AutoZone/Kragen should be able to do that for you. What's your budget like? We get D3100's for $350 here in the SSA Shop. And Powermaster has a rebate going on for a few different models.

How did you set your gains? Just twist the knob and go?

Upcoming New Owner
I doubt the OP will be able to deal with .5 ohms and the chance for popping the amp should box rise drop below that.

brainstorming for RE SL 10
lol, ok. But a well constructed box that is made of 3/4" MDF and then coated in bed liner is anything but boring and certainly worth the $150 imo. Either way do what you want, just fill us in on your plans.
-
Upcoming New Owner
Because you ordered a dual 1 ohm subwoofer, you'll need an amp that produces that wattage at 2 ohms.

brainstorming for RE SL 10
Hey bud, I know space is tough (I've got an 05 access cab). There are some guys who've already pre-made a subwoofer cabinet that fits perfectly behind your seats. http://shop.tacotunes.com/category.sc?categoryId=8 Better than trying to make all the different cuts to fit one back there.

318is e30 "SQ" Build In Progress
Looks good. Hopefully you reset your gains on your sub amp so you don't clip the Havoc to death like you did the Type-Arghhh

What the....
He was wrong on the stock ground being good enough, but you were wrong about everything else. Running power and signal away from each other is a myth. If your connections are shitty, expect noise. if you do them the correct way, you'll be just fine. I can't even begin to count the amount of times I've done this.

Group Buy HID Kits (updated w/install pics)
You guys realize.. the higher the color temp, the less visible light there is right? Stick with 4300-6k (at the MAX). 4300-5000k would be my preference. In most cases, going 8k+ will be significantly less light than stock halogens.
