  1. One 1500D? I'd say the Q's as well, but I would lean more towards fully loaded SSD's. But this all is moot, we need to know what you listen too and what your front stage consists of.
  2. Did you make that red guide? I've been wondering how people cut square holes..
  3. Hate to break it to you chief... but you'll need to increase your budget if you want a screen. $500 is enough to buy used or a cheapy brand (which will only lead to failure in the future). Plan on around $700 for a quality unit.
  4. If you want even sound reproduction, you should consider switching to a sealed enclosure. The Q flourishes in both types, but sounds far better in the sealed environment.
  5. Looks like a good spot for pictures. You should head up there at dawn/dusk and see what you can capture.
  6. Indeed, all will be forgiven if I receive a PM.
  7. I still say to go with the BL. You don't seem like you have enough experience to try and undertake the larger system.
  8. With only $1500.. I think your plans are a little lofty. While the BTL is a superb woofer that does indeed get loud off of 3kW... the money you'll need to spend in upgrading electrical alone will leave you with next to nothing for the actual woofer, amp and enclosure. I realize you want to be insanely loud, but a proper enclosure with a proper support system will be much better than doing it half assed. I'd drop down to a BL. Stick to a 15" since you don't have the room for an 18" (the enclosure will be smaller, and cheaper to build). Buy a single 1500w amp (Sundown SAZ-1500D perhaps). Spend whatever you have left on 1/0awg wire and a spare battery.
  9. psh, you're not supposed to ask for permission. Simply ask for forgiveness later B&
  10. Allow me to be the first to say... Pics or Banned.
  11. yep, I read it twice. You used no punctuation.
  12. Please tell me he took everything out... even the alternator.
  13. The Big 3 and a better battery certainly won't hurt you. That amp will be a great match to the Q.
  14. I don't understand what you mean by "run 2-way active" I have done the front doors only till now. what is "IB configuration"? Active speakers refers to not using the typical passive crossover in off the shelf component speakers. You instead use a crossever before the amplification and then send one amp channel to each speaker. IB is Infinite Baffle. Usually requiring less power but using your entire trunk as the enclosure.

That's just a popular photography trick. two pictures, one with hood closed, one with it open. Then go to work with photoshop and blend the two.
  16. Drop the Coaxials. Pick up a set of separates, run 2-way active. Don't do anything with the rears. Deaden the entire car. Use one sub in a sealed or IB configuration.
  17. DON'T do this unless you have the correct processing to run a 3-way Front stage.
  18. The Brutus isn't know for it's stellar build quality.
  19. Just drop the BL off your list right now. You're running HAT drivers, run a sub that will blend with them
  20. Guess we know who bought up some of TC sounds stuff now lol
  21. What can you afford? Have you done the Big 3 yet? How many runs of 1/0awg do you have running back to your amp?
  22. woah there chief.. before you just go off on a hunt to have everyone else answer your questions, perhaps you should do some ground work of your own. Most of what you want to know can be found via the SEARCH button. Pending you don't find the extreme technical answers that you need, http://bcae1.com/ will be what you need to read next.
  23. Indeed, The SSD with Flatwind and BP Power would certainly match up to your amp while out performing that Type-R in one of Fi's recommended enclosures.
  24. When people refer that they kill subs, its due to overdriving the line level and clipping the amp. This sends a square wave (DC) to the sub and smokes it. 9 times out of 10, this can be avoided by setting your gains with an oscilloscope.
