a box
the amp will mount onthe bottom with the bottom firing subs and ports. the box will be used as a seat as well as an enclosure in a 2006 dakota xcab. enjoy. the braces...gotta have braces if ya gonna sit on it... here ya can see the port and mounting hole. some of the material in this pic is destined for the router... material removed. teh center section between the subs is where the pr500d will be mounted. another look at the port, mounting hole and foot. and yep, the extended port wall was factored into the tuning. the box is tuned to 38hz how it will sit in the dakota. and while it's 1/2inch mdf ( we had height, depth and width limits) it's strong enough for me to jump on it..lol...gotta test it someway!! anyay..2.5ft^3 net, tuned to 38hz....should rock!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
built a box thrusday for a real idiot. he bought a brand new dodge dakota extended cab, with no backseat. he has three kids. he also has a pair of memphis pr 10's and a 500d. so, he had us build a box that would hold the tens and the amp, fire the ports and tens down, protecting them from his kids, and alos mounting the amp on the bottom, to protect it as well. it had to be strong enough for his kids to sit on. no seat belts back there. have no clue how they actually mounted it to the truck (was done friday, i took the last two days off) this guy is so anal, when he pulled his last box out his xcab s10, he threw a fit because we didn't carpet all the way around. there was a strecth about 4" wide thru the center back of the box (the part you'd never see unless you uninstalled it). anyway...i thought i'd throw a few pics of the box up. anyone interested?? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ok, i think i get it....the vx900d is one ohm stable. but if so, why list the power ratings like they do? 1 and 2 ohm max ratings..2 and 4 ohm rms....why be so damn indirect? anyway, the massive is a quad 2, so we couldn't use the vx900d anyway. not unless it was .5 ohm stable...lol...and even then, it wouldn't compete with the memphis mc1500d. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

tom, teh vx900, or whatever it's called is a dog. i didn't know PA put the peak rating on the amps. we couldn't figure out how in the hell 900 watts wasn't pushing the massive. so we look it up. we find out it's only getting 525rms @ 2ohm. that's weak..lol...so we put in the 1500d..and blam!! we gotz bass!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee wtf? i have a birthsheet for my VX900D that say's it puts out like 955w rms in fact: i understand your confusion..but look at this... this one rates at just over 600wrms @ 2ohm... so maybe they birthsheet the max output. i dunno. what i do know is that it was a complete night and day difference bro. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the massive is decent. 1000wrms rated power handling, it's taking the 1500wrms extremely easily. not quite as efficient as a mojo (if you can call that efficient, lol) so it takes a bit more power to get it as loud. all in all, i'd give it a 7.5 outa 10. it's a great daily driver, boomer. more spl then sq, most people here probably wouldn't really use it. think of it as an eclipse ti without the pricetag..lol..or titanium cone. the jag looks sweet as hell on those 17's. it's got a great stance IMO, it's one of my favorite cars at the shop. jim, for once, i actually like the chrome fender flares/guards/accent pieces. whatever they are called. it goes with the car. tom, teh vx900, or whatever it's called is a dog. i didn't know PA put the peak rating on the amps. we couldn't figure out how in the hell 900 watts wasn't pushing the massive. so we look it up. we find out it's only getting 525rms @ 2ohm. that's weak..lol...so we put in the 1500d..and blam!! we gotz bass!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the imaging is actually pretty good. the mids mounted in front of the seats are actually coaxils and the tweeters look look phase plugs. another interesting thing is that there is an 10" sub mounted under the front passanger side of the dash. so the sub stage is just about everywhere. also, i like the harley color combo. especially with the chrome accent. i need to get a close up of that part of it, as that is what really makes it snap. the emblem on the front quarters is also airbrushed. there is indeed alot of effort and time in this car. it just needs a little TLC to clean it back up and maybe tie it all together just a bit better. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

here is one ongoing install.... started with a pair of planet audio amps, the sub amp (notpictured yet) has been replaced with an mc1500d, the high end is still covered by planet audio. has 6, yep 6 kicker ds 3.5 speakers, all in factory locations. that includes a pair UNDER the rear seat! started with a pair of treo tsx 10's in a small sealed box. moved to memphis pr 15's sealed and now is running a massive audio in a 3.75ft^3 ported affair. it's tuned to 35hz. the massive will probably be replaced with a mojo soon, as will the remaining planet audio with a 2004. nothing fancy, just the basic wedge bottomed box. it does get loud though..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
