what does everyone think of this.....?
ok, first of all...200 x 2 @ 2ohms = 400 x 1 @ 4ohms. you amp will put out the exact same power bridged or stereo if using the proper impedence. second...subs aren't "stable" to any impedence. subs are what determines the impedence you show the amp. when you purchase your sub(s), this is what you'll need to look for. single sub will need to be either a quad 1, dual 2, dual 8 or single 4 ohm voice coil driver. those will give you the proper impedence to show your amp. if you get two subs, they will need to be quad 2 or dual 4 ohm voice coil drivers. these can be wired to show your amp the proper impedence as well. third..i've never seen a dual 8 or quad 2 vc sub, but i imagine they exist...lol fourth..one 12 ported should run with two 10's sealed. but no prefab box is set up for sql. most (like 99%) are tuned at 40-45hz. you will need to have a box built to fully realize a good sql setup. and lastly, i'll agree with jim. get the pair of tens. only, port them. tuned low, a ported pair of tens will kick you in the chest and still wang like a mofo. as to owhich tens...budget. if the type r's are more of your budget, get them. they aren't bad subs. but if you can afford the rl-i's, get them. loud and low with awesome customer support. honestly, don't skimp on the enclosure. that's what will make or break any sub you buy. regardless of brand. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Memphis vs UsAmps
why the need for seperate power supplies? i'd mention the mc3004 as flakko mentioned the 1600.4, but i'm curious as too the above. nothing wrong with either amp, but i'm partial to memphis. though i wouldn't hesitate to own another USAmp product. this is a tossup. are you going to be buying online? not sure about USAmps online policy and warranty, but with memphis, if bought online, there is no warranty. otherwise it's 4 years. just something else to consider. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

good news
rli FTW!!!! not even a question. look at the service so far. that's worth more then anything in my book (assuming you've already talked to mike, otherwise i'll extract the foot from my mouth...lol) which in anycase, RE, IMO, can't hold mike's jockstrap when it comes to customer service/courtesy. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Post your woofers !
yeah, well...my 18 is field replaceable!! and currently the cone is seperated..lol....well, not anymore, we epoxied it. hopefully it'll hold until the dual 2 cone comes in. then the 18 will have a kicker 2500.1 on each coil...currently has a memphis mc4000d on it wired @ .5ohm...though with the cone breaking, it'll get rewired to 2 ohm...he's a chickenshit...lol.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

1971 impala build
mirror image of my thoughts exactly...lol.... and 80..thanks man. the chambers are like 2ft^3 sealed and 2.5ft^3 ported, or somewhere along them lines...was kinda hard doing the math. but under the 600wrms, the thing gets low enough the owner is way more then happy. which is a good thing, that box was a PIA!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

'05 TB build
would be an awesome idea for the wife's TB, but the factory amp is in that freakin quarter. looks sweet as hell though bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

12 RE SE VS 12 RL-p
I think you have thoes backwards. Because if the Rl-p is in the running leauges with the SE as far as output, then my preception that it's runner up competition for the old brahmas and XXX's and Avalanches as far as output is off. SE is loud, dont get me wrong, thoes drivers are just louder. Also, SE's are very clean, compareable to my avalanche. which is XBL equipted so there for is must rule all nope. the rl-p is one clean ass sounding, get loud sumbitch! h2h with an old xxx, both ported and sealed, it sounded better then the xxx while running with it for output. overall, the xxx was the one with the potential to get louder due to the fact it will handle more power, but as far as sq goes, easily the rl-p. as my wife put it, " the rl-p shakes the car to death and still hits you in the chest. the other one (xxx) gets loud, and that's it. it doesn't shake the car at all." same amp, same box, same power. nah, the rl-p is just one of those "everything came together real nice" type of packages...lol.... don't forget to toss in mike, and you have the complete package. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

good news
not out of business. he does too many OEM things to go out. JL like? maybe, but i hope not. RE isn't too damn far behind either, especially with the new XXX. i miss the days of the old school solo's, the stamped steel baskets and 100 ounce motors were heavy...lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Eclipse SW-8200
Pretty sure that when DC resistance was taken they wired the coils in series to get that rating which would mean DC resistance of the 2ohm coils are 1.2-1.3ohm but i could be wrong. Anyway, i'd like to know how efficent the SW8200's are if they do feature LMT because if it takes 3kw to make them happy like some other LMT drivers, i dont really see the point. why does everybody think it takes 3kw to make a LMS (not T anymore) happy? 1200 on the rl-s 12 moved it just fine... wired to the 4ohm or so load and it did damn near a 140 in that box, off that power, with a factory gm h/u. will they do better in the larger enclosure of more power? after watching a few vids, probably. but do they honestly need them? not in my opinion. besides, in smaller enclosures you can always throw more power at them anyway...lol...muhahahahah wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Post your woofers !
here's mine, some installed, some not...lol.. memphis 10" hpo....twas a pair in there. figured those two were good enough for a few pics....12" gen 1 xxx and 12" d2 rl-p that's a single memphis pr 10 not mine, but since i had the pics.....proto SI mag15 my 18 is bigger then yours!!! solox x 18 go boom like so!!! my pride and joy, the first production rl-i 8 sold. also, a funky pup 8, dayton 7's and hifi textile dome tweeters. and the rl-i 8 doing it's thang!! that's all i could find at the moment...lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The GOAT
the guage cluster is a damn near match for an escalades, as far as look/color w lights off goes. not layout. we did a nice install on an 2004 goat, blue. he's got a ram air hood (fuctional), k&n cold air kit, custom exhaust and was waiting to buy the programmer at the time. i'm sure by now that's been resolved. it does indeed have a wicked exhaust note. when installing a system in a goat, due to the gas tank, instead of putting you sub in trunk, try just under the b pillar. there is a shit ton of room there once you remove the factory speaker. you can even keep it under the plastic and use mdf. we did. jim's goat has got a mc1300 (big belle) powering two pairs of memphis sq componets and a pair of mclass 8's in those quarters. you don't even know the 8's are there, until he turns it on...lol... nice car btw. sorry for the rant. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
