box is going to be the biggest improvement in this situation, as well as matching ur subs impedence to ur amps to fully utilize the amps full potential. quick question (i'm too lazy to go back and reread this morning) is space an issue? can u build/have built a larger enclosure? my suggestion at this point is to look into a pair of 10's or 12's and go with a low tuned ported enclosure of the proper size. soundsplinter rl-i's come to mind for the 10's, as does memphis pr 10's or 12's. the 12's will require a larger enclosure, but a pair of ported tens with 500wrms and the right box will get loud and low, and sound good doing it. as to squares not sounding good, again install and personal taste. i run the nastiest square on the planet (solo x 18) and for all intents and purposes it sounds pretty darn good for it's application. it doesn't fatigue me to listen to it all day long. hope that helps some more.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
Have to have an engine that is made close to home, crazy in that Chitown plant. My only issue with those Navistars is how loud they are, at idle the cab noise is pretty terrible but does lay down a bit up on the highway. Needs lots of deadening. Wikced truck though. was pretty quiet in cab..it's an 2004 with 32k on the odo....i guess the other guy did buy it for his 16 year old grandson cuz i haven't heard anything for the saleman (who's my son's bestfriend's grandfather..just some useless info).... guess i'm still looking..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Top Ten Finalists
the Z06 definitely deserves to be on there.... and i agree, MB's relibility has taken a beating lately... teh F150?? nah....the fusion, maybe... hybrid? what about the silverado hybrid? though it's MPG improvement isn't worth the price difference. especially since driving back from colorado last week, with the train in the bed, doing 65mph, my silverado (31k miles on the odo, 5.3ltr xcab 4x4) averaged 20mpg. like mentioned earlier, when noncar ppl make a list, they really screw it up...lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

breaks my heart
ryan...it's just under 6ltr's.... but i agree..the motor would end up in the TB..lol...with AWD!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
like this??? yeah, i have a flame billit grille and clear taillights on my truck....i happen to like them. i'm also looking into a clear taillight for the 'train. tom, have no fears, i'm back in illinois. well, ur still just a drive away, lol, but jim, well, jim, u're ALOT closer again. hehe...muhahahahaha btw...i'm thinking of trading the silverado in on a powerstroke powered superduty. yeah, it's ford, but it's powered by international navistar. i look into it more today. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

also look into the stereo integrity and soundsplinter offerings. both can be had in d2, both would love 500wrms and both are some of the best sql subs i've ever heard. not to mention mike (soundsplinter) and nick (stereo integrity) offer some of the best customer service around. price might be a bit of an issue, as it looks like ur shooting for under $200, but both companies products are well worth the price. check into the si d2 and the soundsplinter rl-p...u won't be disappointed. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the mustang is an 88, with a 100shot. he got an integra last night...and a warning just a bit later..lol...pics will be forth coming as we have a dual 10 fiberglass enclosure to build. going to incorporate his bottle, the amp and subs in a neat little package. ryan, he needs clear taillights...any ideas? also, we have another friend with a 94 (i think) 5.0 (yep, doesn't have the 4.6, so it's early in that body style) any hook up for cobra ground effects and stuff? need clear heads and tails for it too.... as to the bike, yeah, twisted bike is better then broken bones, but dammit, i wanna ride!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

how do i check my subs?
when u test them with the dmm... seperately u'll want to see either 2 ohm or 8 ohm (or something real close) together u'll want to see either 1ohm or 4 ohm (or something real close) if u get anything else...something is more then likely wrong. let us know... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I know I have a car audio addiction when......
....when there is enough wiring in ur car to allow for a nuclear generator and it still isn't enough. ....when u have to run dual altenators just so ur headlights will work. .....when the batteries in ur ride are the same ones found on the space shuttle and u sold ur parents to get them. ......when u take ur new truck in for service and the mechanics keep it all day to listen to it (sorry mrray, we don't have ur specific oil filter in, we have to drive to a dealership in chicago to get it. do u mind if we use ur truck?) ........what's a back seat? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what's up people?? some good, some bad here.... mostly good though, i guess. for u mustang ppl, pics will be coming, but my bro in law just got a 90(or so) mustang that puts about 300hp to the ground b4 the spray. 450 or so when the laughing gas is on. ford freaks, lol......recaro seats, lowered suspension, cobra wheels and intake and the list goes on....5spd with heavy racing clutch...i'll get the list of goodies when i get to take pics.... for the biker crowd (i think that's just mostly me, lol) last wednesday the proverbial 70 year old lady (yep, 4'5" in a ford zx2 escort, couldn't see over the arm rests) ran a stop sign in front of me and i had to lay the 'train on the ground. twisted front forks, chewed up mirrors, grips, controls, pegs, bent shift lever and scratched custom paint was the order of the day. possible bent frame and burly bars. will know more in a week, but it's looking like 4 weeks before i get to ride again. myself? the leathers took the brunt, i jammed my right shoulder pretty good on impact, but that's all. more hurt pride then anything. other then that, well, life is twisting and turning so much i don't have a clue if i'm coming or going. but i'm breathing and that's a start...lol.... and that's the update to has the french pirate turns.... LE AAARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Ride of the month!!!
congrats denim!! pics of the trophy are for sure in order bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- how do i check my subs?
for what ur wanting to do, a cheap one from walmart would work, about $14. like mentioned above, what u are going to be testing for is resistance, so u'll set the dmm to ohm (most will not only give u a reading but will also chirp to let u know the connection is complete.) teh reading u'll want to pay attention to as well. what configuration are ur subs? that is, are they dual 2ohm, dual 4, what? with that info, we'll be able to tell u what reading (or close to it) ur dmm should show to let u know ur subs are fine. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
real quick... chipotle is an ok place to eat... ryan is my hero and future lover and i'll be back on here tomorrow..or maybe later...lol.. u guys rock and i miss ya!!!!! till later... LE ARGH!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- all those in or close to colorado

oh, i dunno..lol.. i've seen big scores come from low tuned boxes..just depends on too many things.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
it's not that way here shower together, out the door 5-10 minutes later we did shower together.....but that usually slows me down as showering is the LAST thing i really wanna do in there..heheh and ryan...pics?? hmmmmm......i dunno how i'd turn out, but i'll have her take a few..maybe.... LEEEEEEE AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- Welcome to the IHoP
