Quick question
they are (on their way back)..i believe the very first run of D2's with the non-logo'd painted cones are even far rarer then the anodized versions....of which i have one. i also have the very first publicly available rl-i8...neeneerneeneer..... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

XXX or RL-s?
actually, quite a good read. the only thing i tend to disagree with is the useage of the rl-s. but that disagreement is of opinion, not fact. in my brief experience with it, i believe it sounded quite well, actually quite a bit better then the (old) XXX in the same enclosure, 2.5ft^3 tuned to 28hz. (roughly). it all boils down to a few simple facts, the most important being application. then sound preference ( i like the rl-p better then the xxx and almost as much as the rl-s) and budget. but i don't think Dan badmouthed anything, however, i do like his hint of superiority of the XBL^2 over split coil but way of the patent holder of the split coil...lol....RE has gotta love that. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

db drag at stop light
i enjoy a stoplight dbdrag every now and then. it's fun watching a " team rockford" stickered guy drop his system when i crank mine up...lol... why do so many ignorant ppl paste the stickers on their rides that come with their subs? and i got the " my sub put out a 1000 watts" comment at work the other day. he got mad when i laughed... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

satellite radio and you
ok, well, here's the deal. i'm in contact with an OEM to manufacture recievers. these receivers will have the ability to go from car to hous to whatever without much work. they will also be able to be used like a walkman. that is, plug headphones into them. there is also the idea of including the programing with the receiver, meaning when u purchase the receiver, u purchase the programing. i'm in touch with both xm and sirius about how do achieve that. so there won't be a $13 per month charge to listen to it. one last kicker..there might potentially be a unit that includes both programs.... so, how much would u pay for a receiver where u'd never have to pay xm or sirius? with the features mentioned above? how much would u pay for a receiver that would receive both? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Port Area Thoughts
that test went all the way up to 2500wrms.....that test is the reason i got my orion 2500d. from what i gather about the brahma, the rl-p is very compareable. but i've got to agree, i think 4 cubes per would be just too much. 2.5 cubes max IMO. tuned low, like 30hz.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
T.O.P. and i let out some frustrations at the gym.....doing "snap" (as the trainer calls it) flat bench press with a 4" board on my chest. 10 sets of 5..mixed with "snap" military presses, 10 sets of 5 and lastly several sets of dumbbell workouts... but i still have the urge/need to bash someone in the mouth.... otherwise... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ported box in trans am for 2 12's doable?
personally, i'd use his dimensions, minus the individual chambers. i would run a 4" aeroport for each twelve (or a single 6" aeroport). and aim it up with the subs. i'd also tune in the 32-34hz range. what is the net volume he's getting? so we can figure a port length. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

satellite radio and you
do you feel that satellite radio, either XM or Sirius is worth the $13 a month? what about the qualities and features of the receivers? cost of them? what do you look for in a receiver? what would you like in a receiver? is the sirius s50 worth the msrp tag of $350 (or so)? i have a few thoughts, but need some input. there could very well be a new receiver on the market soon....lol....with a nice kick to it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

ported box in trans am for 2 12's doable?
i think they will work if u go common chamber with a brace, and a shared port. tune in the 32hz area. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Port Area Thoughts
dropping the tuning and enlarging the enclosure will definitely help bring out some more bottom end. enlarging the port should help with some output. but u can go too large. and 100+ in^2, IMO, is overkill. will it hurt? probably not, but it's going to make for one long ass port. personally, between 75-90in^2 would be more then enough in the 5.5-6ft^3 enclosure. in ur situation, i'd go for the 6ft box, 90in^2 of port, tuned about 30hz. that should give u the lowend u are craving. i hope u have a strong midbass setup, because i think u are going to need it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
