How does a sub play 10 hz when..
sqguyib...please, just stop. we've shown you where you were wrong, even if it was just in poor grammer, but you keep going. but poor grammer can change the entire context of a written conversation, as we have pointed out to you. oh, i think richard clarke still has that $10k challange if one can tell the difference in amps at the same power, maybe he'll adapt it to telling the difference in 5 watts of power? and CEA rated means about as much as EPA rated fuel mileage. noone wants to call you an idiot, but damn man, you just keep opening the door. audio-neon, my name is Kent, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Orphan 8's Need a Home!
that's why he's going to do three, lol. 1.5ohm for the win....though i think 4 (and .75) would be better (hint, hint) and just .6ft^3 sealed.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Couple box tips
i wonder if would get sean to test that theory. i'd be willing to be you are correct, the smaller box resonated at/near vehicle frequency. all boxes tested were single layer 3/4" mdf, various sizes, all tuned 45hz and only difference were size and port length. this jsut hit me as well, smaller box= less impedence rise= more actual power. of course that means more heat, which could result in a wash..lol... damnit man, you got me thinking too damn much. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Couple box tips
could be. and i can't really argue with hoffman, but as i said, i've seen what would appear to be a direct contradiction. can't explain it, but the meter showed it. if i had ///M5's equipment, we could definitely find out what caused it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Couple box tips
i can indeed relate details of nothing more then going smaller box and gaining spl. with nothing else changing, including voltage, power, box location, port area/tuning and subwoofers. i can't explain it, but i have indeed see it happen. maybe it has something to do with the longer ports, i dunno, but i do indeed know it has happened. the rest i completely agree with. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

How does a sub play 10 hz when..
Most of the stuff was from people not reading my posts and replying. I don't recall the last time I got hunted down like that. To assume someone does not know what running ported or IB subs is? And then quote the post and cut out the part that explains the use? again, and for the last time, the post that was quoted DID NOT explain two different setups. it wasn't until a LATER post did you somewhat clarify that it was different setups, and even then, it wasn't until we directly called you out that you specificly stated it was two different setups. and for the record, i even requoted your post in it's entirety from the point in question, and NOWHERE in that post was it stated two different setups. is your typing, thought process, so bad you can't even understand what you are saying? your posts are indeed what we pay for them, nothing. don't turn this around when it can all be brought right back up showing just how wrong you are. let it lie, or get made a fool. your choice. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Orphan 8's Need a Home!
the rl-i8 likes .17ft^3 sealed, i'll wager the orphan's are in that ballpark. box barely big enough to hold the thing, lol. i have a .17ft^3 box for my rl-i8 and it sounded awesome in it, with as little as 100wrms to as much as 750, in car and in room. i bet three orphan's off a sundown 1500d would be badass!! and tiny!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Trep's 1999 F150 Ford Single Cab Truck
tips for the big three... DO NOT replace any factory wire (unless needed), just add. if you find a simple route the factory took, follow it with your own wire, but do not remove the factory. just make sure it's agood, clean (if possible) location. battery - to frame: can be anywhere solid. but look for the factory location. it's usually a bit easier, but again, make sure it's a good connection. battery - to engine/ or engine to chassis: engine location is easy, grab an alternator bolt. on my 04 silverado, and even my 08, one bolt is even labeled ground. run that to the same chassis ground you found earlier, or to the battery, whichever is easier. battery + to alternator: pretty self explainatory. also, what amp are you using again? and what voice coil configuration is your sub? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Couple box tips
small box and HUGE power make spl numbers go big. IIRC, it's called compression porting, or something silly like that. but i'm dead tired, so i might not have a clue, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

dad's day gift!!
yay for me! ruger mkIII w/ barska red dot. has a 5 moa dot when cranked up, a lil big, but it'll drive nails at 25yds and stay under 2" at 50yd. (off a rest fo course) not bad for a 60(maybe older) year old design and a cheapo optic, lol. what i see when it's pointing at some poor squirrel, or rabbit, or dog, or redneck idiot...well, maybe not the dog. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Sub comparison for some SPL!
my bad, i thought the bl was rated for 1500. i was wrong. don't listen to me then, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Sub comparison for some SPL!
off 1500wrms, the BL will be a better driver then the BTL, so don't bother. also, the 18" BL should more then own a 15" nightshade, all other things being equal. if you get an 18" Nightshade, then??? anyway, with what you have presented, the 18" bl @ .5 on the sundown will be your best bet, providing you can provide the needed enclosure for it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
