  2. well, here's the deal..lol...u've only got 2.13ft^3 gross using those dimensions... after figureing in ur amp recess at thes dimensions;22.5 X 13.5 X .75 sunk 1.5 into the enclosure, there goes another .26ft^3 take away the .18 for the sub...ur at 1.69ft^3 i have no idea what those other numbers are for... but if those are the final dimensions...and assuming ur using shdl 40 pvc.....ur two 3" ports need to be 24.75" long for a tuning of 32hz in ur now 1.42net box. i think that covers everything.....and those are the for sure final dimensions? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

the 70in^2 of port isn't a bad idea. teh 5.5ft^3, well, i would have probably recommended something similiar even if u went seperate chambers...2.75ft^3 each... with that much power, u could drop those dimensions to around 2.5 net per driver of 5 ft net for both. that's after port and sub displacements... mike is conservative when it comes to recommendations. but he's never far off. 1200 per driver is right at the limit of what they will want, depending upon enclosure. so sensible use of the gains is a must. i would keep the tuning in the 30-34hz range...personally aiming for around 32. plenty low in a car. stay above 60in^2 of port ( if u go with the smaller box, u could drop the port area a bit to help keep the length down.) watch those gains...and u should rock! u definitely are started off in the right direction! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

what's sad is...teh wife's got two of us.... dammit.. lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. yeah..so u say... lol..we're not there to hear them are we?? noooo, all we get is crappy audio on a sweeet video....though now when i think about...i always turn the sound off when i'm watching pr0n anyway... nevermind...lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. i saw as high as 115volt @ 40hz...tehn it leveled off to about 90v from about 44-48..then dropped on down to the 85 @ 52-53hz... why in the hell would u have it up to 135?? lol... dead battery? lol, nopw...engine running...every time....this current monster isn't draining anything..lol.. anyway, steve...yeah, it is kinda blocky..lol...but i didn't go for fancy. the wife actually likes the look...now i'm just trying to figure out how to finish it. kevin..it sounds really good. this thing reaches down low, even with the subsonic set at around 28-30hz...xovered on the high side at about 80 or so... teh solo x is actually a decent daily driver. one thing i have noticed with this amp. even when pushing the solo hard for exteneded periods, it doesn't start to smell of burnt vc like it did with the orion..but i did think that being wired to 2ohm would be nicer to my truck then the .5ohm it was wired at..lol...wrong! no biggie..time for a ho alt! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. T.O.P. beyotchesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss i>j0o wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. jim... i'm going to drive out to ur college and slash ur girlie-man van tires...wait..no, i'll slash ur eDmo sub... adn scott, a wad of wire wrapped around an axle is never a good thing...lol.. and ls1pimp..poor kid..i damn near feel sorry for him no, no, i don't wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. i know...but those extremis are realy kicking ass....it's jsut too bad the sound couldn't be as good as the vid, so that we could hear how good they sound. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. ported box huh?? i guess i don't get to build that one... lol... don't forget ot post pics and reviews!! reza...i'd suggest the same box for u sealed, 1.25ft^3 (35.5ltr^3). the rl-p does a great job in that size enclosure....u could alos bump it up a lil, around 1.35ft^3....either would be a good choice... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

in all honesty, u can go either way. of course the single, shared chamber is the easiest to build, and will help prevent tuning differences in seperate. i'd suggest the single, shared chamber. one big slot port (at least 60in^2), about 5.5cubes, tuned about 32hz. u can tune lower if ya want, but i think anything below this and u might as well run sealed. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. just in case u don't remember, here's the old install pics... this is how the enclosure did sit in the truck... where the orion 2500d sat... and the red top with the tsunami topper on it..... and now, the new install....in progress...lol... the enclosure....adn the solo...how's about 250pds of box/sub combo?? installing the ma audio and setting the gains....85volts=sqrt(3600wrmsx2ohms)..it's jsut under half gain there..set at 53hz (my burping freq), i've seen spikes over 100 at lower freqs!! might need to reset them, suggestions as to what frequency i should use? wtf am i doing??? ahhh..that's what i'm doing...lol...i'm attempting to make my truck more hatchback, suv like. hence sub up, ports firing back into that mdf wall. the ports are 2.5" wide (70in^2 of port total betwen two ports, kicker recommened tuner) adn i have about 3.5" from port to wall... i need to get it mic'd as i know i've picked up on the lowend, but with the huge voltage drops, the ma shuts off before a full burp, so i haven't a clue if i picked any up in the upper end. but u can feel the difference down low! one more pic..... the new look of my red top...lol...no topper on it!!! just my knukonceptz terminals and ring terminals....i think it's a cleaner look this way... that's it...suggestions? idea's? thought's? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. here's the ma audio amp i got from effendi, next to my orion 2500d.. teh terminal end teh input end... i liek the 0 gauge inputs of the ma compared to the dual 4 gauge inputs of the orion.....otherwise..they are both really cool amps... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. here ya go..some goodies... the 8" clarion's i got from nick for my boy's system.. cute lil buggers.....they'll be in about .75 each tuned about 30-32 hz... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  20. got teh redone install in my truck done, but unfinished. teh ma audio is in there as well...and its a bit of a current hog..lol...time for ho alt!! am i louder? yep, but it cuts off before i can really crank it..lol..it also hits lower! which is kewl..lol, or so it seems anyway... i'll be putting pics up directly btw...i'm finishing off a paid 10 day weekend...lol...well, it's unemployment for 5, but it's still paid.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. steve, glad u got the letter bro!! adn u can't take all of us!!! neeneerneeneer!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

well, i'll put it this way... my rl-i 8 is currently sitting in .17ft^3 sealed, getting maybe 100wrms, in a 10x12 room, running at 8 ohm. is it loud? yep. does it go low? yep. is it responsive? u betcha! adn i can only imagine what it would sound like in a more home friendly enviroment, say .35-.5ft^3 sealed.... but the 8w7 needs no description, and if u can get one for around the price of an rl-i, well, i don't envy ur decision.lol.. but the rl-i will be easier to match with an amp...impedence wise.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
