  1. 1) bandpass, if designed properly can indeed sound good while yeilding the output bandpass is known for. 2) that being said, i have no clue if the rl-p will sound good in bandpass and i wouldn't know where to start. u are going to need a proper design to make this happen, which is beyond my abilities. anyway...as to the actual enclosure, that's not hard. once u get teh volumes calculated for the bandpass enclosure, it's all about the measurements u take and laying it out to get the volumes u need. but the hard part is getting the enclosure designed (volume/tuning) properly for the subs ur using. i'd suggest u email mike and ask him about bandpass and the rl-p... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. psycho....full size extended cabs trucks are actually fairly hard to get real loud, with out a wall. there isn't many, if any , that i know off breaking 150 legal without a wall. i ran two 15" treo ss's in my dodge ram quad cab, at it's loudest, did a 145.5 outlaw on the tl (memphis st1000d for power). cline...a few options i'll suggest.... 1) we did this in an OBS silverado. build ur box to be ur seat. i'd buy another used seat (in good shape), and seperate the seat from teh back, if possible. anyway, the goal here is to attach the seat foam and cover unto the box and reattach the back. this way, u have all the room u need for those subs. 2) build ur box to go under the back seat. the way dodge seats are attached to the floor, u can simply build risers to raise the seat up enough (i've seen pics at sounddomain where they raise the back seat as much as 4") to have a pair of 12's under there. 3) remove ur back seat and build a sweet ass custom job that uses most of the rear area showing off all ur skills and equipment. 4) build an all new center console that runs to the back of the truck. this way u can also use the room under the back seat if need be. both subs can still be up front... i will like to see teh center console idea personally...but it's ur truck, ur money. and i dunno about running the rl-p in that small of a box. while i'm sure it would work, i doubt u'll get the lowend extension that they are known for. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. ummmmmmmmmm... i dunno if this forum is ready for those kinda pictures.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  5. i agree with the KISS...(Keep It Simple Squeak..lol) and i've got to install/audition a few pair of those sync8's. they are really, really nice componets. (not to mention the 6.5 sq's in my front doors and the sync 4x6's in the back ones..lol) as to the power issue..well...i say go active. keep the amps u have....i've never heard the sync8's ran other then with the passive xo they come with. i think the active set up would be cooler...adn of course, sound better. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. tirefryr installed a next amp and sub in his GF's car...pics are in the showoff section... nikuk tested his 8" next woofers....i'm still waiting on pics for those as i might just have them sold... and that's all i can think of at the moment.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  14. what finebar said.... also, it'll get low....and it'll reach upwards as well. 1.25-1.35 is about the perfect all around enclosure for a 12" rl-p... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. yep..the 3.8ltr GN motor! while i think it's a mad motor straight outa the box, ur correct about the mods it can take... and i agree again with the fact u can have a car that does 186mph, and return 19-20mpg (more if he stays outa it, i'm sure..lol) during more normal driving... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. lots of ppl vent like that.... only consideration is how much port is inthe box for displacement reasons...otherwise, u'd figure teh volume like any enclosure... but ur paint drawing is of a bandpass style box, which most here don't recommend or don't want to try to design...is bandpass what ur trying to achieve? or just a normal vented box with jus the ports firing up into the factory speaker locations? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :Slaeyr:

  18. yeah, but the small block chevy ranges from the 265 all the way up to the 400....but the most popular is the 350. and from a reliabilty/modification stand point, none can really compare. well, the flat head isn't either, but they should still be on the all time greatest list for what they did for the automotive world. lol at justin, but at least we agree... and should also toss in the ford 302. with the new mod motors, this is getting to sbc status..kinda. speaking of mod motors, the DOHC 4.6 used in the lincoln and cobra deserves some shout. as does the 6.0ltr motor found in the corvette...but then again, this can be added to chevy's long line of small block success's.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
