  1. i have zero experience with the access subs, but i've played with the utopia line. they were really nice sql (heavy on the sq) woofers, but very, very pricey. i've also dealt with focal warranty/customer service. try 4 months to replace a tweet and mid due to shop stupidity. all that adds up to the rl-ps just being a better choice all the way around. sounds just as good,if not better, and has the potential to get louder with the best customer service in the world. SI has a forum right here, and their subs measure up to the rl-ps. nick is also on par with mike when u consider customer service. teh d2's are a lil pricier then the rl-ps, but they are in stock i believe. ( with an introductry price IIRC) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. <-- Same boat. at both of us... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. what the hell is wrong with me?? lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. i've got one solo x 18, one rl-p 12, one rl-i 8, one jl 12w0 and one pioneer 12, model unknown...sitting in my garage..oh and a funky pup 8 in my boy's room.. and not a single sub in vehicle... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. i don't remember ed...lol... oh, good morning < time for a refill but pics are always good!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. if u could get the volume up to 1ft^3 per 12, it would work nicely. might lose some lowend, but overall output would still be nice. if u did the 1ft^3, i'd add the polyfill, help get some of the low end back. if u do the 8's, all u'd need is about .25-.35ft^3 per driver for sealed. so u could possibly get 4 in there. that would give ya enough cone area to help make up for a little less xmax and keep the output close to the brahma. (in theory) but u won't be lacking anything that's for sure. these suckers are mini monsters! oh, and 4 8's would only be slightly more then 2 12's!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. sounds like a plan... and don't forget wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. well, it's going to be hard for a pair of 12's sealed, 10's ported to get any louder then what u have. u will go up in cone area, so in theory, it's possible. (with the 12's). a pair of the rl-p 12's would be awesome in 2.5ft^3 net sealed, off just the single 1000d. and in the very least, u will sound better (most likely, i've not heard the tdx) and be as loud. i don't think u'll lose any output. and i'm pretty sure u'll gain bottom end! the rl-p's love to get low! hope that helps a bit wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. well.... got a trailblazer. it's blue, 2wd, loaded minus leather. get it tomorrow afternoon, thursday morning. the honda ppl wanted more money down then we wanted to put down, so we went back to the trailblazer. and ryan is right. i've got the "beast" (put a car seat on the solo box? it has to be in the truck in order for that to happen) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. Ken, I am looking to glass a tub that will span the width of my trunk flow down into the spare tire well be x high and y deep. After approximating the total volume I came up with about 3 cube. The woofer will be an RL-p 12 which does not need this much space so I got to thinking and decided to port it. Then I thought about possiblly getting two 12's and runing the ports outside of the box (a long tube running from the box, directly into the cabin. Then this death box got me to thinking maybe this would be a better use of the space with a single woofer, which is what I prefer as this will allow me to keep my current amp. Is this death box something that could be adapted to that (with the same spare tire well box and maybe even the external port thing)? Thanks Jerry the deathbox isn't one that can be modified. there is some internal stuff that, well, is adjustable. and unless u could figure a way to make that work, i'd say no. 60, i talked to steve on the phone, he said the 8 would work wonderfully in the 10" deathbox. so that's what i'm building. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee 60, i talked to steve on the phone, he said the 8 would work wonderfully in the 10" deathbox. so that's what i'm building. ok,but dont say i didnt warn you! if you only want 1 driver, and you have an rl-p 12,id say build a death box-2! i might just build a DB2 as we just bought our trailblazer, get it tomorrow (or thrusday) so a new box is in order!!! yipee!! i love building stuff... pics in a few wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. ok..i was hoping that was the message u were going to relay. we have a nice thread about it in the advanced topics forum...found out i did a 144.4 with about 1700wrms on the solo x even though it was wired to produce about 2800 (.5ohm)...so yeah, impedence rise kills. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. my vote would be the LMT as well, but it's ur budget and ur ears. but with ur vehicle, could u imagine something like a folded horn or snailshell or trasmission line enclosure with the LMT? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. i'm selling the plans that decware has...$5 for all of them, instead of $20 that i paid. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. i need a HT amp. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. honda's really aren't manly, but.....i'll sacrifice a bit of the manliness for the resale value. besides it runs better with 255hp then the 'blazer ext with 285hp. of course the standard size trailblazer feels strong as hell..and we just might get that instead of the pilot or mini burb. who knows...lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. funny, that's what the salesman said...lol... btw...honda's hold better then 60% of their value after 5 years... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. where'd everyone go?? i'm off to bed..i'll read this in da morning... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. trailblazer ext or honda pilot? which would u get? both with leather...3rd row seating... 'blazer has dvd, bose sound and dual power front seats pilot has sunroof, heated front seats (power drivers side only), cd/cassette with 6 disc changer and 10" sub.... both 4wd....'blazer is blue, pilot is black... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  20. understood, but i wasn't really talking about ratings either...sorry. i meant they were overrated in testing..they weren't as strong as advertised. and the testing i'm referring too as to do with the local team with whom i'm friends with...in their early testing of the T3's, they found them to basiclly be junk...but rumor has it the new T3's are worlds better...but still not the best amp available... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. steve, i actually like the suspension in the 'blazer. it made for an extremely nice ride to 6 flags and back yesterday...round trip about 300miles. here in a few minutes i go see if we make it ours... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. good morning lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. T3's only if the new ones....early production ones were overrated...but even in new...blah... the hifonics is a good bet, as is the memphis. kicker's 2500.1 are decent, but a lil lacking compared to others... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. 12's.. *chuckle* sorry, but gotta give ya some grief... speaking of which..i'm going to start again on ur cabinets wednesday... work killed me the last couple of weeks, so no work was done, sorry. and these next two days will be catching up on some other stuff, and then it's on to u...again, sorry. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. sweet!! i just purchased all the plans, including both deathboxes and will be building the 10" version for my rl-i8 after talking to Steve on the phone. pm me if interested.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
