  1. cp..welcome to ssa! second..u've got over 3cubes gross there....more then enough to port a pair of rl-i 8's suggestion? somewhere between .5-.75 cubes each sub tuned somewhere between 34-38hz.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. that's it!! that's the leaf terminator!! u'll love the thing..it works on the same principle as lift. and it works!! awesomely... i will try to find some pics tonight.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. first, try the subs without the fill....they will get lowlow in less then what u have planned. if u don't like them without, add some. like u said, the stuff is cheap. second, ur vehicle is going to hate u for running at .5ohm daily, trust me, unless u have some serious upgrades...and i mean more then just the big three...i have a redtop, upgraded alternator and the big three and i still get big voltage drops.. third, going by that link, the amp doesn't produce anymore power at .5 ohm then it does at 2 ohm...(1100wrms)..i'd try wiring for 2 ohm first (series the coils, parallel the subs). u'll get plenty of output that way... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. the mtx would be my choice.. welcome to the forum!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. ya know..ur comparing a 15 to a 12....which do u think will be louder? rl-p's are very efficient drivers, and extremely compareable to jl's top products. i would lay money that if u built the proper enclosure for both, the rl-p would indeed be louder...of course, the rl-p having the extra displacement helps quite a bit. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. funny..i suggested he lower the internal volume in the very first reply..noone agreed with me. of course i didn't use $3 words to describe what i was talking about..... i guess noone reads my posts anymore... bastages.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. lol...she still isn't nakey.. and Jessica Rabbit is a cartoon hoty lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. x2...the salesman (or majority of) are hoping the potential customer knows nothing of electronics or what they are selling. in this way, they can push "the magic box" that will eliminate all noise from ur system. for a small fee of course..lol. most of us here can go into most shops and teach the salesman a thing or two (i'm sure we've all gone into BB and told teh salesguy we want to hit 150db with a $500 budget and keep the system under the back seat of their truck, just for giggles, and the saleguy actually try to sell u something, telling u he knows for a fact it'll do it) but that's what research is for. that's how we 've learned, along with trial and error. alot of things in audio is subjective, SQ, brand preference, wanted output, yada, yada, yada......but what is constant is the science behind the products we buy. products constantly pushing the envelope of what we want and what we get for our dollar. and i'm done rambling this morning..way too early... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. Close enough. yeah...lol.. please don't hurt me.... 04..it should sound good in that box! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. the H1 alpha's are coming!! (actuall all hummer's will get an alpha model, meaning better performance, tires, yada,yada,yada)..the H1 alpha means u get the duramax and allison combo...300hp and 520lb-ft of torque and a 2" body lift to accomadte them. performance? how about the ability to a climb a 22" vertical wall? cross a 60% grade, traverse a 40% side slope with 2500pds of payload and ford 30" of water? or towing over 9300 pds? yeah, it's a mans truck..hehe..all for only $141k... oh yeah, 0-6 in 13 seconds.....but it weighs 8114 pds...not too shabby... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i was drinking at the time of that post steve, repost it.. aaron, post one! matt...we'll give ya "i've got my kid in the pic" award..lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. oh yeah, some swimming as well... we bought a new gizmo for the pool to clean out the leaves....blam! best $40 bucks spent! we were swimming just a few hours after the leaf terminator was thru!! (had to shock the pool) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. no work for me!! beer and bbq are in the works though..hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. neon, thanks for the link... what if a person has rubber floors? (my bro-in-laws silverado has a rubber floor mat thru out the truck, no carpet) anyway...thanks for pointing jelly in the right direction..i stand corrected.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. smooth as in smooth curve, or as in flat? smooth curve, yes, i think that can be achieved with trial and error..and possibly a nice box modeling program... flat, i don't thinks so. the heat generated by the sub and the damping of the box/suspension will keep it from ever being flat. unless a person could design a varible enclosure that shifts size as heat is generated to compensate....or something..lol.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. they look solidly built, and i've always wondered how the "Dome" midrange would sound... u'll definitely get the "huh" look. i'm not an sq guy, so i get really answer that part, but i've always ran the sub to between 80-100 as i've never used a dedicated midbass. what i would try (see how close i am) sub....70hz midbass 60hz-300hz midrange 250hz-5khz tweet 4.5khz up ok guru's..how far off am i? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. i've never heard the brahma...but the xxx IME, only gets lowlow in ported.. so i'll 4th the "install dependant" ..because that's exactly what it is... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. i don't hate anime, but she's not 100% naked..lol... but i voted for the red "S"..i think it's looks cooler... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. power is power..a watt is a watt...and i honestly don't believe a person can tell a difference in them. now, with all the extra's, an amp can indeed be made to sound better, and appear to be a better value for the money. and ryan, wouldn't u try to set the test up so u wouldn't lose $10k? but in all honesty, the way i read the challange, the amps would be identically gain match and settings all flat. they would be set up so that they put out as close to the same power as can be done. so unless i'm missing somethin, how is that stacking the deck? i think the article is spot on. while i'll agree there might indeed be an exception, someone with super sensitive ears or whatever, for 99% of the population, that article is spot on. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. the marauder? i dunno...i'll look... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. lol...nothing like a friend expressing his opinion....lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. time for another beer... and pennis..ur over active tear ducts are...well...gay wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. nick no likey re... man, i think i'm done with enclosures after i finish tom's (tlm). i've just finished jim's for the third time and to be honest, i'm still not happy. my wife says they look good, and they do, but they aren't perfect. and i hate that. not to mention, i'm joining the masonic lodge (again, kinda. was in DeMoley as a youth), work is pushing a bunch of ot and i'm just getting tired of car audio again. i've gotta build a kennel, re-roof the house (it's 20 years old), do the land scaping up front and hopefully lift the truck soon. i might even dismantle the scooter and paint it.... i dunno...whatcha think? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

??? huh??? no way...lol oh yeah..supa gets the "pretty boy" award... i'm really leaning towards the scrawny honky for BIS..... we need a pic of arron... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. they do indeed sound really nice. and steve, they aren't the entry level..lol...the pr's are..the mclass use the same basket/motor, but different suspension and cone. they are considered the mid level sub, but i have no clue why. the pr's are sweet too..just like that lil dog pictured. 4 12's, american bass power (aprox 2kw) in an 2000 olds bravada = 147.5 outlaw on the tl.....hehe..freaked a bunch of ppl out. (yeah, my box design) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
