  1. late here too..lol.. but hey, welcome aboard Ant!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. that's called series, and using 8 ohm subs would get you to 16 ohm. and far out of any amps power producing capabilities. of course, you'd never burn an amp up, lol. when you did that with your old subs, you were at 8ohm, and it was probably done to protct them from too much power. if you grab the jl 500/1, wire them up in parrallel like previously mentioned, and each sub will live happily with the 250wrms each they will get. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. my penis only smiles and winks......and he does it all the time. lmao..seriously. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. to be honest, i have no clue. depending upon the subs depth and suggested volume, it could very well work. btw, what's your definition of loud? i will tell you straight up, and take this from a guy who's done everything but wall off his truck, full size xcab trucks suck at loud. are you looking for numbers loud or ear loud? they are two different beasts. are you looking to compete loud or daily driving might get a ticket loud? again, two different avenues of attack. i'll finish with this, regardless of raising the seat or not, your only going to get so loud under the seat as there just isn't any room to approach getting stupid loud. to truely get loud, the back seat will have to go. with wanting to run 2.5kwrms, or more, it's going to have to be a solid box and that takes up room. try to define your goals a bit better and we'll see what we can suggest. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. matt, matt.... that sucks bro, but maybe you did the right thing? could lead to bigger and better non trust issues? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. T.O.P. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. oh, ok, like i believe that. you'll get a pass this time...but we have better get some highlights! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. how so??? do tell wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for now, i plead the 5th where did i place my ban hammer?...................................... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. that's how i'm leaning. i'll give it some time before i make a final decision, but for now, i'm of the same thought you are. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. took the mini out for a bit.... really got to get used to a vehicle with something resembling real brakes, lol. and it'll get to 100 pretty damn quick, me likey!! best part is, at 100, there is no wind noise, and the wifey wants beats!!! now, i have to figure out exactly what i can and want to do. part of me wants to leave it alone and make it simply a driver's car. let the exhaust note and supercharger whine be the music. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. how so??? do tell wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. wow, just wow... lmao wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. well, i do have the big belle....and the kicker ss componets and rmb 8s.... but me and sq??? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. downfiring "seems" to enhance lowend, to the ear, though i can't verify this with any measurement. the 4 8L7s forward facing is insanely loud for what it is...but those subs aren't cheap. the box was built for the ICON, so that would be my first suggestion. also, i'd recommend between 1k to 1.5k in power, so the sub has to be able to handle that and be no deeper then the ICON. it wasn't the loudest setup i had, but it would do mid 130's legal all day long. and sound good doing it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. too be honest, i was thinking about using either the rl-i8 or the pair of clarion 8s. i need to get rid of the memphis belle and get a different amp...teh ICON will either go in the hooptie or the next truck, room allowing. watching all the wall builds, i have half a mind to wall off the hooptie with the ICON, lol....just because. but i don't really want to use the belle in there, though i guess it would work. and i don't think i could've gotten a regular MINI. but this being 6spd, supercharged and convertible sold the deal, it's a blast to drive, lol. tom, i'll get pictures saturday...promise! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. biggest difference is sheathing...car audio cable has more wrapped around it then typical welding cable. that said, welding cable usually has some sort of wrapping in the wrapping so to speak. don't know the technical term, but it's a wax paper sort of wrap that's suppose to help in protecting against bare wires. also, not for sure if it's true, but high end car audio cable might have less resistance through the same length of run. higher strand count, less oxygen, blah, blah, blah. in welding, that's not a huge issue, just being able to carry and maintain the high current needed to weld. otherwise, alot of people here use welding cable with great results. i used it in my truck, no issues what so ever. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. so, did steve ask you guys for help in this thread? just curious, as he's not making anymore appearances and all of sudden you two show up. not implying anything, just asking. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. true dat!! that's why it's the wifes. it's her anniversay present. i can give up my truck for awhile for a woman who has put up with my shit for 13 years of marriage and 16 years of being together. and the fact that i get another truck soon, it was an easy trade to make. not too mention the deal we got. and the fun factor. that car is fun, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. Kent, please tell me he's wrong can't. traded the silverado in on a dark grey convertible mini cooper s. 2006 model with 4600 miles on it. the wife has wanted one since they came out, and we got this one for 3k under book and got payoff for the truck as trade in, 17k. and my truck is beat to hell, lol. couldn't really pass it up, as the thing is pretty much fully loaded and is just plain fun to drive. and easily doubling the gas mileage of the silverado/trailblazer, we are going to be saving not only on teh car payment, as it went down as well, but damn near $150 or so a month in gas. nice guess ryan2, the tire size finally gave it away, lol. matt, the solstice/sky was on the wish list, but it's just a two seater. my next clue was that this car can seat 4, though i don't want to be in the back. also, next year, or maybe even later this year, i get to trade teh trailblazer in on the truck of my choice. that's between an xcab z71 2500 with the duramax or an z71 avalanche at the moment, subject to change. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. i've ran dual downfiring ported 10s, single downfired ported 10, four upfiring sealed 10s and most recently ran a single 12 downfired and ported (an ICON at that), all under the seat, without lifting it and without it extending into the foot area. i've also built boxes to hold four forward firing 8L7s ported to go under there, again without lifting the seat. there's a lot of options for under that seat, lol. speaking of which, for $175 shipped, i'll sell you my single 12, dowfiring, tuned to 34hz enclosure as i just traded my truck off yesterday. pics of the enclosure are around here somewhere, and ILuvJDM as the enclosures twin, as he's running a 12" ICON as well under his seat. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. lmao...not a miata. though the size is close..... p205/45r17 tire size miata my ass, lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. lol, it doesn't fit my personality, but it's pretty pimp, and fun, nonetheless. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. welllll... traded the silverado in today. on a car. no pics yet, they're on the way...give ya some clues, see if you can guess... it's supercharged it's a ragtop it's not made in the USA it's a 6spd wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. it'll take it, if you watch, listen, even smell the signs the sub gives you. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. your welcome! thanks. but i'm home a second day in a row due to this shit. i do feeel better then yesterday though, so hopefully tomorrow all will be good! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
