My Dad's old company had "beer Fridays" back in the 70's the jack daniel's brewery has good fridays. i can't remember if it's every friday or just the first friday of the month, but every employee gets a bottle of their choice (jack black label, green label [only available in TN], gentleman's or single barrel). if i was a whiskey drinker, that job would be prove heaven. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Building my first ported box
ok, i'm going to disagree with sean here. one, i've used 1/2" for more then a dozen of this style box (underseat), all the way around in daily drivers. not a single box has yet to fall apart or fail to impress the owners. ask iluvJDM, he has a box identical to mine. is sean's way the correct way? in a perfect world. but trying to port a 12" driver under the seat isn't the perfect install place. yes, you can raise your seat to get added clearance, no problem. but it will make rear seat passangers unhappy, and if you don't care about them, just remove the seat. then you have all the room in the world. use two inch legs. and keep the baffle parallel with the floor. yes, it will affect some tuning having the sub face that close, but the ICON doesn't reach it with full power, and i doubt anyone can hear the difference. and as long as the pole vent can breathe, you should be ok. sure, it would be great to have at least the diameter of the pole from any wall, but again, we are trying for ported under a seat with a 12". and drop, i'll have to measure again, it might be 8.5" at the rear. i guess what i'm trying to say here is that with proper planning, proper bracing, and a good build, one can indeed get away with doing it the "lesser" way. i'd absolutely love to see the room to build it the way sean likes too under a seat and ported, but he's not a basshead. he's building to enhance lowend, not exaggerate it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
I'd do a modded Duramax diesel with an upgraded Allison tranny in a HD 3/4ton fully loaded Chevy. I'd rather have the Ford in the diesel anyday, but both are rather overkill for pulling less than 4k lbs at most. Plus something smaller in the garage never hurts. Not many people around here has had good luck with keeping the 'strokers running past 100k miles without dumping some serious money into it. i've only heard of problems with the newer, smaller powerstrokes. the older 7 ltr ones seem to be ok. IIRC, but then again, it's a ford product, so i could be completely backwards on that, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
the jeep srt8 has a tow rating? i thought that it was like like uber low for an suv? i know the trailblazer ss has a higher tow rating, though it isn't as quick/fast/nasty. i want a duramax. or an older superduty. the newer ones are far too ugly up front. the chevy has the better interior. but the navistar is a beast, and the older super's do have a beefy truck look about them. the wifey is actually thinking about about a cts-v!! yes!! and tom, that is drifting at it's most expesnsive ,and stock, level. and i want the new zr1 for my bday, sans the plexiglass hood panel please. that blackish silver would be pimp. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Xbox Live Screen Names
i play COD4 and any first shooter. usually with mini me. and halo3 as well. i'm not good at any of them. the account to look for is FifthExpert and if you notice a disticnt difference in playing ability from time to time, it's because that's mini me's account. and he's pretty damn good, especially compared to me. now to write down all these names and find you bastages (and i seem to remember bringing this up in mark's thread up in the spotlight, hmmmmmmmmmmm) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Is my ported box going to sound bad?
i doubt having the box as is will cause any issues. the only problem i can see is that you might get some noise due to the two 90* turns. i would recommend you rounding over the outside and inside edges of the port wall. the inside can be done with a router and roundover bit, the outside with a 45*wedge or roundover the corners with resin and or cut pvc. otherwise, i'd say good to go. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Mark (ssaudio)
ok, i suck at halo as well. only played it once, lol.... i need your live names, that way we can kill (get killed in my case) each other alot. but i like playing any first shooter, just not great at any one of them, lol. the caddy is your dream car? for realz? not some super exotic, ultra price, extremely rare beetlebuglamboaustin220mph thingy? and how come you didn't answer neil's question about denim being naughty? and where are those pics? ok, i'm surprised this hasn't come out yet.... money no object, what's your dream system in car? in home? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Toyota Corolla
i think they sound pretty damn good. they are a bit on the sluggish side, if you go big box. but overall, not a bad choice if one is wanting a little of everything. casey, what is the sq box? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

my SQ boxx
From the way you've described it, it's just plain SQ. The assumption that SQ can't be loud is totally wrong. I don't know where people get that idea from, maybe the basshead crowd hears us listening to something other than rap and assumes SQ is for the dainty and weak If I want to reproduce what the London Symphony Orchestra sounds like at fortissimo, that sure isn't going to be very quiet true, but i have yet to see anyone in an sq setting capable of 150. most are in the 135-145 area. and yes, every sq competition i've seen is done sealed up, on the dash for the spl measurement. so i'm sure when done outlaw, a few are approaching, if not surpassing, 150. but i think if someone is going to try and coin a term like SQXtreme, it needs to mean something hard, almost impossible to do. so maybe 160db plus with proper staging? and no switching of enclosures? and LB, i'm a basshead myself. any box tuned at 36hz isn't sq anything. especially for 15s. tune low 20s, then talk to someone. i had a real long soapbox reply here, but i'll save it. please quit tugging on the man's cape though. it is you who are having a hard time taking constructive critisism. ///m5 is just putting it plainly. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

HOLY CRAP.
yep, had nothing to do with how the amp performed, but rather the fact that the torroid weighs more then most amps do all together. and hanging the amp upside down isn't a recommended mounting postion, especially in a 155+ enviroment. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Welcome to the IHoP
we have about 2" of fresh snow, will be gone by evening there is a gun show locally as well, but can't go. gotta get the boy a bday present for tonight. his bday is tomorrow. 14years old. soon, i'll be building a system for his ride, lol. sweet!! sean, get them samples, lol. and i was hoping ole boy was up there in MN. oh well. tom, you still gonna be there come june? speaking of firearms, i gotta get the python paid for, and then get another 1911 bought. going commander size and SS. after that, a 44mag is getting bought. probably a 4" 629. and last night was a blast. went to a club called styx. (used to have a lot more pool tables, hence the name) they had $4.50 pitchers of mixed rails. like 60oz pitchers, lol. so it was screwdrivers all night, lol. there was about 12 of us or so, and we all alternated rounds. lots of vodka was drunk. yeah! and after about teh 6th pitcher, roughly 15th cup, i realized i still have a pool game. ran 8 games in a row. and then gave away the last one. oh well. i needed more drink time anyway. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

my SQ boxx
Exactly, well at least you wouldn't be able to hear it for long. lol, that's not what i was meaning. let me clarify.... when someone can blend a substage that's capable of 150db, without pinpointing where the subs are and the staging is correct, with a front stage that can keep up, then that would be SQXtream. and i don't think the front stage would have to do 150db to keep up. i'll wager my front stage currently is nowhere near the 134db or so the sub stage can do legal on the dash. and it overpowers the sub, IMO. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
