ok, narrowed down, help me decide
between these three subs..... 1) sid2 12" 2) re sx12" 3 re xxx12" the sub i chose will be pushed by a hifonics bx1500d @ 1 ohm(whooohooo 1500wrms!!) and put into a ported enclosure( recommmended by the manufactor, of course) in the trunk of my wife's grand prix. i am looking for loud and clean and a price in the $300-$350 range. since this is the wife's car, i want to try something different, ie..no JL, rf,treo, memphis, eclipse, clarion, diamond or anything i can get from local dealers. so..any other suggestions? i will be buying in the next week or so! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i'm so clueless as to what subs to get for my car
like i suggested in ur other post..... only with that much room... 2 treo ss 15's..they'll work quite nicely in 5ft^3! mine do........and i picked mine up for the price of a pair of si d2 15's.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
-
1 dd 9515 vs 2 a-bahn immortal 12's for daily
again, room could be an issue. with a 15" si d2 wanting 4ft^3, and a pair of 12" d2's wanting either 3ft^3 tuned one way or 4ft^3 tuned another way..he might not have enuff room....though it would be a good choice of sub(from what i have read) another option(though a little pricey..maybe) is a single treo ss 15"...it only needs 2.5^ft3 with 25in^2 of port to get loud...with 500wrms( of course, it'll take more..if u wanna give it more) and the hatchback eclipse...wow, that could be loud! and they can be found for about the price of a si d2 15"($350 shipped), i paid $380 for my treo's. anyway...just my 2 centz wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

8" woofers
hate to jump in like this.. but as far as 8's go, i think the rf hx2 needs some spotlight. as some of u know i used to run a pair of these in a 1.75ft^3(or so) enclosure with 12.5in^2 of port, tuned to 45hz. using my memphis 1000d, i nabbed a best of 139.6db on a freshly calibrated AC mike. givin the new termlab...that's about a 132-135. now, while that's not as loud as josh's firechicken, mine was done in a fullsize ram x-cab, with the box under the back seat. to me, it was indeed impressive. as to sq...for the box tuning being that high..they were indeed a decent sounding sub. i had no trouble playing anything in my truck, from lil john to system of a down. they reproduced everything they could, clearly and quickly. the only thing i won't comment on is how low they could get. due to box tuning and the subsonic filter, they never played below 35hz...which is pretty low for 8's in my opinion anyway. now figure in that these little monsters stood up to the pounding i gave them for about 1 1/2 years and the fact they are currently trying their best to dismantle a 2004 x-cab silverado(with a memphis 1000d doing the pushing,my bro-in-law's truck)and the fact i paid $139 a piece for them...i think they should get some ranking up with the best 8" subs made. that's all...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Newbie Sonoran Blue
welcome.... ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

What would you do?
i like how the v shape points at the sub as well...BUT..i like where the crossovers are going to go in the straight across design ...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm m i like the straight across better....it's a touch cleaner btw...either way will look really good and is a winner....good job! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Cerwin Vega Stroker PRO
i like the basket and motor structure (from what i can see) but hate the "cone" i like the old school stroker..it looked nasty. but hey....this new thing looks like it's gonna get loud! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

which amp with my subs
what bad things about memphis? i currently run a memphis 1000d(well did, traded the truck, now it sits in the garage) and have never had a problem with it...not even getting hot! now, my pr140 fried itself, but that's my fault for not pulling the main fuse while working on the system. anyway...nothing but good things about memphis here...also, heard nothing but good things about hifonics as well. matter of fact, i will be buying a bx1500d or bx1000d soon for the wifey's car just to try it out! IMO, either would be a good choice! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Treo SS info
they are indeed a helluva woofer. of all the woofers i have owned..nothing can compare to them in sq and spl. not saying they are the best in the world, that is way too subjective...but they can compete with the very best. as to their price..well, when idmax's came out, they retailed for around $500...si's d2's go around $300 shipped and punch hx2's were around $300 for 12's...so they fall right along the same priceline. the difference being that u couldn't get them off the net, so u couldn't find a cheaper price..u had(have) to find a dealer and that means retail..unless u can swing a deal. btw, my 15's are for sale..$600 for the pair...i have owned them since october 2003...and the only reason why i'm selling them is they are taking to much room in the garage. also, i am redoing everything with the new truck and that means more power and so i need new subs...hehe good luck with ur re's, black. but try to find some treo's and give them a listen, u'll be impressed. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

favorite brand names
memphis....only the best amps i have ever owned..their subs and componets aren't bad either treo.... get loud and sound good doing it, maybe not the best sql sub out there, but really really close and they can take a beating rf....absolutely loved my 8" hx2's..they took a beating and are still ticking sony...like steve said..the mobile es stuff...c90 still one of the greatest h/u ever alpine....h/u's rock, great features for the price, esp compared to eclipse(which is a badass h/u in it's own right) focal...my polyglass sound as good as the day i bought them...but i think i'm trying silk tweeters this next go around mtx..the new line of subs(starting with the 7500's) are just awesome and the 1501d(used to be the 81000d) is one hella amp phoniex gold...only owned the xs series of amps..but they were bullet proof..played mine(xs2500) at 1 ohm for about 2 weeks, never shut off, got plenty hot...but it is right now killing a pair of 10" w0' in a poor bandbass box!! jl...like their prices or not, it's hard to beat their quality audiocontrol....aaron said it all..or has for the last 2-3 years..lol si...maybe next month i'll know... hifonics....read above that is all wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

new truck..new system
okay..here's the deal... as soon as i sell my ss's(new truck...new system..hehe..get it? anyway)..i am buying a pair of these here si d2 15's...i am tired of reading about them all the time and not hearing any..so, here is my question(s)... are all of the new ones in spoken for? i will hopefully be purchasing these in a month (or less, i hope)..will i be sol if i wait? that is all....... how long after i pay will they ship?<---silly i know, but i wanted to ask also, as to the si componets.....my silverado came with the factory componet shit....i believe they are 6.5's...which si componet set do u recommend and how much power to put on them? i am going to leave out rear fill for now...but may add a strictly midbass set of 8's soon...which could be si's if they are on their way to production... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :
