Rockford Whose Gate
i'm with steve...the new stuff is ...well..it looks fake...but anyway.. the new amps(bd series) are huge...but are supposed to never get hot.. as to the old stuff....hx2's are da bomb...i just sold my 8's for $200..each with a blown coil..but then again....i gave them more then 100wrms more then they were supposed to handle for the better part of a year, and then fed them pure distortion for 10 minutes trying to break 140db....got 139.6....audiocontrol mike and a memphis 1000d with 50-55 hz test tones....WHEEEEEEEEEE :thud: anyway..image and loud is everything.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

new truck..new system
as my sig says...i did run two 15" treo ss's off a single memphis 1000d in a dodge ram..... now i don't have the dodge..the memphis is sold and my treo's are sitting in the garage.... here is what i am wanting to do....two 15's, either 3000wrms or 4800wrms to the subs (depends on what amps i decide to go with), iggy altenator, 3 svr batts(one under hood, two for the sub amps) a 6.5 componet set and around 150 wrms for them.... now here is the reason for the post....... i am considering 2 15" memphis mojo max's...2 memphis 1500d's or mojo's...memphis sq componets and a memphis pr series amp for them(maybe a 4 channel so i can run a pair of m series 8's for mid bass..dunno) i am also considering 2 15" si d2's...2 hifonics 1500d's......si componets(but dunno which ones) and a hifonics amp for those...might still throw in a pair of 8's for midbass each 15 would be in 4ft^3 or so..tuned low 30's...maybe 30in^2 of port....and this will be in my 2004 chevy silverado x-cab.. what do u think....will i be better off with the si's or the memphis? i want sq while i'm beating the hell outa my truck..which i will do, so they need to be extremely reliable subs and stuff (i have been known to wang on my treo's for almost 2 hours as loud as i could go [allowing for where i had the gains set, i never went past that volume setting except for burps at comps]) anyway... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Treo SS info
hehe... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee treo ss 12's can be had at my local dealer for about $300 a piece...my 15's cost $380..check into my sig for radioactivity...he's the man some low down.. the ss's are rated for 500 wrms..and will take more....the new ssi's (replacing the ss's) are rated for 750 wrms....the ssx's willtake 2400 wrms and the csx's will take any amount of power, for burps only the 12 ss's will prolly like around 2ft^3 ported, tuned 38hz or so...my 15's are in 2.5ft^3 apiece, tuned to 34hz...loud and proud! i have posted a 145.5 db off a single memphis 1000d on the new termlab in my OLD AND GONE 2001 dodge ram quad cab (no back seat) and did a 148.6 on a audiocontrol...both burped at 45hz they are very nice subs and sound really good..u will indeed like them...i dunno about the re's...but the ss's are comparable to the idmax's....i give the sq to the max's (though not by much) and the spl to the treo's....but hey, that's my opinion..hehe wow..i'm typing alot..hehe as to if they are worth it........ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...lemme think....................................... ................................................................................ ..................yeah..they are indeed worth it wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Almost as much fun as car audio....
$550? kewl...i paid $600 for mine when i got it!! ride it some first, it's a classic. if i remember correctly, the cb i had was the first motorcycled with 4 cylinders AND 4 carbs(hence the model name cb 750 k 4, with the 4 meaning the 4 carbs)..mine also came with the 4 into 4 exhaust, dorky as hell...was switched for a tuneable vance and hines racing header and pipe.. it's also kewl how urs has mags, mine had spokes... like i said, they are fun to ride and it doesn't take much for them to keep up with modern rockets, for at least the 1/8 mile anyway..hehe..but they are really heavy.. again, enjoy it and good luck with both rides!!! nothing like riding the scooter wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Need your opinion!
panel saw...it's called a panel saw and gnome is right..cnc router is about the only way to get perfect cuts.....whenever there is a human involved in the measuring and cutting, there will never be a perfect cut...but close usually is close enough, and 1/8 isn't much.... but hey, i build vehicles for the mining industry, and we are allowed 1/4 difference..our motto..."ain't nothing a grinder can't fix"..so what do i know?!? :thud: wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
