  1. stop posting pics/links of maggies damnit! i can't afford them at the moment and you guys are giving me the "i wants" pretty badly!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. i'm in no big hurry as i'm not a ford fan. plus i know the camaros and possibly even the challangers are coming soon. so i either get a great deal, or i wait. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. que? He complained earlier about some interior light problems he was having (not sure on specifics) from when he changed the map lights and dome light to led's. I think the problem is that they are very dim without the engine out. Maybe you guys are onto something with this bad battery nonsense....never knew that would cause noise. teh battery acts as a noise filter for the alternator. bad battery= bad filter= noise in the system. i'm sure helo or ///m5 can explain the reasons why a lot better then myself, so i'll just leave you with that layman's explaination. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. welding wire is plenty strong, and will allow plenty of current flow, and for good reason, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. going to go talk about the mustang tomorrow. see what kind of deal we can get... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. nice..the new mounting depth will free up alot more install options. can't wait to see photos of the new models. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. that is just nasty, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. no it won't. unless there is shielding missing on something. something would have to be physically wrong with the cables for enough noise to be picked up and heard. Not to mention a HUGE ripple on the power from the alt (bad rectifier or battery might cause this but usually it still isn't picked up by the signal cables but gets in through the power supply itself). ty sir for finishing the thought, lol. most people don't realize a bad battery can introduce, rather, allow noise to be introduced. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. weak, i removed a part of my finger with a flush bit and just a piece of gauze and some tape later i was back to work, lol. ask james herren over at termpro (gameoverstreeta) he witnessed the whole thing, and got quite a laugh. anyway, your not worried about fumes and possible spark from plugging in/unplugging the charger? pretty pimp install, you have skills bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. my dad just recently bough a 99 4 door xj with the 4 ltr. 126k on the odometer, it's a solid truck, needs a few things (like me to make it go boom, lol), but overall, i'd own it. i think he paid $3500 for it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee good year ! and nice price too if fuel prices and taxes would be low, i'd buy a 4.0 in a heartbeat. although once you register a car over here, you pay taxes for the motor it was registered with. so a motor swap from an identical model and identical year means same taxes. but i just can't let go of the 2.5 diesel fuel consumption i'd snag the 2.5 diesel before the 4.0ltr, lol. jsut for wow factor. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. and there aren't any maggies listed on my local craigslist, damnit, lol wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. that's pretty sweet jim. i think i want maggies now too.... ryan2, that's usually howit works. and they'll howl over how guns kill people, like they are automated, and forget it actually takes a person to operate the damn thing. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. no it won't. unless there is shielding missing on something. something would have to be physically wrong with the cables for enough noise to be picked up and heard. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. lol, wow. sounds like you're going to have fun. and nice topic. that's about as much fun as euthenasia (sp?), abortion and religion. no matter what side of the argument you are on, your biased. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. my dad just recently bough a 99 4 door xj with the 4 ltr. 126k on the odometer, it's a solid truck, needs a few things (like me to make it go boom, lol), but overall, i'd own it. i think he paid $3500 for it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. sticker with the shelby options shows 23 highway, original sticker shows 25 highway. the trailblazer gets 16.9, the silverado 15-16 (lately been on the 15 side. i have a heavy foot, lol, when i'm in my truck. i love the torque) my hooptie gets 29-30. also, the 5.0 i was going to buy, i gave back. no pics ever taken of the car, lol. i have pics of my bro-in-laws 5 ltr. it's actually a 306, with cobra heads/intake, 100 shot of NOS and msd6 iginition. it's a solid car, dyno'd just over 300 rwhp. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. true, but the wife and i each average about 300 miles a week for work. her jsut driving to and from and me chasing all those sumbitches that don't pay. so it doesn't take long to add up the miles, lol. so fast in fact, the $1000 i spent on the hooptie i've already earned back at work. and it's a given i'll drive between 200-300 mile s aweek, and her work is 35 miles one way. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. well said. i've even see shootouts where at the end, everyone wanted the keys to the vette to drive home due to the fact it coudl keep up with the exotics but return a better ride, cruise control and cup holders (i remember that from a c&d shootout) i guess if chevy were to step out from what the corvette was intended to be (exactly what it is, a sportscar for everyone), then they could indeed take that sweet ass motor and drivetrain, remove even more deadning, tune the suspension to the point it hurts, shave a few more pounds by using kevlar/cf everywhere and add another $50k to the price tag and it would get more respect. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. to post pictures, grab yourself an imageshack.us account. upload your pics there and use the forum thumbnail link (they will give you several options) and post that here. and we have patience. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. i'd say fuck ford tom, but the damn thing is already here, lol. and the wife likes it. and i might get even cheaper then sticker if it's an 07. if i wait for the camaro, i'll have to pay a premium over msrp, might have to wait past 08 as many are spoken for, and like previously mentioned, i'm not a fan of buying the first year of anything. and we have to get rid of one of the trucks. with gas prices going where they are going, i might end up getting rid of both. anywho... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. motors that close shouldn't cause noise. when you say if you remove one it goes away, do you always remove the same one, or does it matter? are all of your h/u sub connections (like grounds, rcas) good and solid? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. for $250, you're not going to be hurt by it. buy it, install it correctly and wang away. if it lasts awhile, sweet! if not, well.... but i think if your electrical is up to par, you install it correctly and aren't 99% volume happy to the point it wants to get hot, it's a decent buy for $250. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. i'd hope they redo that damn tweet. harshest damn thing i've ever owned, save some sony's. glad to know i'm not alone in that thought either. teh focal's mids weren't bad though. definitely better then my current memphis sqs, but i'd glady give up teh stronger mid for the smooth silk tweeter of the memphis. of course, i've not gotten to listen to anything like some of you folks have, so i'm a little wanting... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. ok car guys, what would you do... 1) wait for the new camaros and more then likely pay $5-7000 over msrp as is rumored? and not have a clue what color, engine or anything i might get for under $32k. 2)buy an 07 (might be an 08) shelby gt mustang that's here in town? it's black with gold stripes, faux hood sccop, hood pins, blacked out torque thrust style wheels, 90mm cold air kit, chipped and exhaust done, under $32k. oh yeah, 5 spd with a hurst shifter. i don't have a clue, not a ford guy, but the wife really digs the stang. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. well, no 1911 springfield for me. i went to the gunshop to pay some on the boy's christmas gift (gotta love layaway, i don't have to hide shit!) and anyway, i always browse some afterwards. so while browsing what do i see? 6" colt python in 95-98%. so now that's going to find a new home in my house sometime soon. i can't believe my luck, i've wanted one of those since i was mini me's age, adn in my 35 years have only seen two. the one i shot 20 plus years ago, and the one i bought today. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
