  1. http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX300-1-CAR-AUD...1QQcmdZViewItem amp, jsut over $100 shipped adn there are like 12 listings for it. that'll help keep your budget. a sheet of 1/2mdf will run around $25. 1/2" will be perfect for what your after. you'll have to brace a bit, but nothing big. and depending on overall box size, you might not need to brace at all. what supplies do you have at the moment? wood glue? brads/screws? how are you going to finish the box? as to what sounds the best is an xcab truck, i've done down firing, forward firing and upfiring. i prefer the downfiring box. the loading of the sub seem to help the sub drop lower and increase output. i haven't measured this yet, but i will, one of these days. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=8719 he's got a pair of tens listed. maybe he'll split them up for $50 shipped for one. not mach5, but if it's a d4, it'll work with the amp posted above and have you in around $180 for sub, wood and amp. also, hit mrgrowski up and see if he knows of any used maw10s you can get your hands on. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. welcome to the forum! i'm going to research a bit for ya, try and fit some things into your budget. any chance of going over it a bit? and if so, how much? what kind of truck? i'll be back in a few! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  3. not necessarily bad, but far from as good as it could be. get the pioneer, you'll be glad you did. especially if it has onboard xovers so that you tune out the lows from the other speakers, that'll clean the sound up nicely. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  4. hit me with an email. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  5. i lmao'd!! poor guy! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  6. lol nice! time to clean the van? lol.... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  7. HBD big man!! have a good and safe one!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. Very much so wagon, I think you should There is so much proof that sundown is an honest company trying to make a decent product at a decent price, I don't understand why you resent them so much? I had a guy tell me my Fi BTLs were crap, or that my CDT components suck, for no better reason than he has no experience with them. If you have NO proof AT ALL, and you even lied with your 'well momma said' approach to giving evidence, I think you have nothing to say. You should appologize for the slander, or POST PICTURES/VIDEO of ANY proof, or just stay ignorant elsewhere. I hate when a good thread goes to crap because of someone who want to take the time to argue online about something they don't really know anything about! xeleventiybillion wagon, you've been called out, your "proof" disspelled and teh defendant has indeeded provided evindence of their performance. i'd say that this case is dismissed, unless you can provide solid, not "yuli said", evidence that supports your arguement. by solid i mean i want to see teh meters clamped to the 4kws and the 1500ds, i want to see teh amps on identical setups and term lab scores, and i want to see this in it's entirety. no fuzzy shots, no pics. but video of this being set up and tested. that video doesn't show up, don't post in this thread again, except to apologize. you called someone out, they responded with proof and all you did was mouth. it's put up or shut up time bro. so get with it, or move on. btw, jacob, your last post in this thread was very dead on and very well put. nice job sir. oh, and one more thing wagon. before you go and think i too am on jacob's payroll, the system in my truck consists of a clarion h/u, memphis sq componets up front (been replaced once already and are needing it again), memphis mclass 4x6s in the rear (again, been replaced once already), ssa icon 12" sub under the seat and the whole deal getting powered by....GASP....a memphis mch1300 big belle. i was once a very diehard memphis fan, especially considering the shop i work at and install, is a very stout and supportive memphis dealer. memphis even nominated us for the top 100 installers and top 50 retail shops in teh usa. look for radio activity, caterville, il. but in the last two years or so, memphis quality had headed downhill and headed that way very quickly. i hate saying it, but it's the truth and memphis has lost at least one fanboy. if someone had a five channel has big as the belle for what i paid for it, there wouldn't be a memphis amp in my truck. and the memphis speakers? well there's a kicker ss componet set sitting on my floor waiting to go in. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee e
  9. it'll be interesting to see if your idea works bro. can't wait for updates! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. i'm in love with neil... well, with LEAP, but since that's associated with neil.... you get the picture.
  11. please show me this, show me where the 4kws are that strong, 14 volt, 16 volt or otherwise. so much so that only elite amps can hang with them. i want to see this and so does james herren. and the 4kws i've seen, just so you know, were always above 9 volts. hell, one blow up just hooking up the damn thing. unlimited batteries and 16 volts, yeah, teh 4kws are strong. but they don't approach elite status. and any amp SHOULD be stout at that voltage with unlimited batteries. if it's not, then there is seriously something wrong. btw, just what is your certified? what class? i'd ask for proof, but i think you'll respond with "yuli said" and maybe the answer to your last question is simply sponsorship. maybe not. but usually those guys in extreme are getting major sponsorships, which enable them to afford those higher priced amps, if not get them free. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. Off 2 nsb 90s? Id like to see this happen. whatever battery you choose. james's strapped 4kws off an eagle picher were junk. not a weak amp by any means, but complete junk compared to what he's run both past and present....(of course now he's moved on to real power, both under the hood and for amps) off a 12 volt system, the 4kws aren't all that. four 4kws vs 8 1500ds, and 12 volts. i'll take the sundown. not only that, the 4kws might not live to tell the story, at least IME. so maybe a very large ass whooping is a bit much, but i'd still take the sundowns. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. [email protected] please. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ee

very nice mike. very nice indeed. i know you said months to get to this point, but if you had to guess, how many manhours is in that to this point? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. if nothing else, and your worried about the 3 port not being enough (though i'd take ndmustangs word for it, lol), go with a 4" aeroport. it'll be longer to maintain the same tuning, but would definitely be enough. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. ridiculous and illogical? the test numbers posted for the sundown 1500d were done so by someone on THEIR payroll. Similar to how the DD Z1 puts out 6000 rms on soundpressure.com. Except morons actually believe it because the sundown amp is a lot more affordable. A strapped pair of 1500d's has been tested to be 2.5db below a z1. And generally the z1s are known to put out a real world wattage in the 2000-3000 watt range depending on voltage drop, box rise etc. So in REALITY which amp is better dollar per watt? Sundown amps might be decent for beginners but I dont understand what their claim to fame is about running at 0.5 ohm daily. There are probably 100 other amps in the world that can do this no problem. And make more power. If you want to buy sundown go ahead....but dont pick up a lump of chit and try to tell people its gold. numbers, links, video....noone here is jsut about talk. provide proof, or shut up. two people have posted either pics or vids of the sundown porduct doing it's thing. where is this z1 beating the strapped 1500s? speaking of what you know nothing about, and or rumors, will only get your e-ass rung through a ringer. the man has spoken and provided proof. what do you have? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee why would they take pics and video of a test that wasnt even close? And one that confirmed what was already 99% believe that the sundown amp doesnt put out anywhere near the power claimed. If i raced a stock vw bug against a corvette would I have to take pics and video for you to believe the corvette one? Id be willing to test 8 sundown 1500d's against my 4 memphis 4kw amps on a limited battery system but that would be a waste of time for me because I know my score would go down. But id be sure to take countless pics and videos so you guys believed it. The person that did the test by the way was Yuli Shumsky (sp?) from ontario canada. Hes been finals a few times now. Termlab doesnt lie....and let me tell you 2.5 db difference isnt just a couple hundred watts. why would you take video/pictures? proof. plain and simple. nothing more, nothing less. is it really that hard to understand? and to use your racing analogy, look how many videos are on youtube, ebaum and whatever hosting site you can think of, of modified cars whooping up on stock ones. and it's the kids in the modified ones doing the filming. memphis 4kws? at least pick an amp that lives to tell the tale afterwards. i'd wager, strongly, the 8 sundowns would put a very large ass whooping on the 4kws. how do i know? first, i work for memphis dealer. EVERY, and i mean EVERY 4kw we have sold, has gone in for warranty work at least twice. and while most have probably not heard of yuli shumsky, i work with james herren. street a world champ 3 years ago. he lost world finals 2 years ago due to, GASP, memphis 4kws dieing on him. he has a FULL memphis sponsorship, and won't touch a memphis product. he had 4 4kws before they were available to the public. each one died, again, at least twice. one from jsut hooking it up. the only chance the memphis has is at 16volts+. and even then, the sundowns can run there as well.... yep, you take your memphis stuff. i'll take the sundown. and yep, the termlab doesn't lie. by then again, you have yet to provide anything, anywhere, other then words to back up your claims. jacob has posted what his amp will do. let's see what the z1 can. so put up or shut up. don't diss something if you can't provide proof of it's asswhooping. i mean hell, if the z1 really did that, and you post proof, you might just inspire jacob to take sundown to an even higher level. and how many times does jacob have to answer the question about loyd and payroll? and who in the fuck ever heard of anybody on caraudio.com payroll? maybe your living in a cave. that is such absolute horseshit, lol. thanks for the laugh of the day bro. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. i want LEAP. my wife is smoking crack. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  19. i loved my 12" rl-p on 750wrms...in a sealed box. i think one can definitely go with the two 12s and 1100wrms. that would be quite a setup. but a 15" rl-p can be a nasty beast as well. with 1100wrms, it'll knock and knock hard, in the right enclosure. i don't know if i could seriously make this decision, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

no problem. some prefabs use 5/8th as well. in anycase, that calculator is pretty close, and being prefab, i'd say that yoru tuning is indeed in that area. yep, i'm agreeing with myself! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. wouldn't that give me a port area of 7 sq inches? thanks for replying nd, thought no one was reading this thread. man, getting all frustrated over this stuff. feels like i gotta build the box around the port and it's starting to look huge for just a little 10. an aero port, even though a smaller surface area, is more effiicent then a slot port. i believe the proper term is laminar flow. having less overall surface throughout the port allows the air to move faster and smoother, with less air on the sides creating drag and slowing down air flow. thus one can use a smaller round port vs a slot port. and if building slot ported boxes, at times you will indeed be building around the port. ask ///M5 how much box he has to end up with a total of .6ft^3 net @ 30hz for his rl-i 8. it's part of the passion and pasttime bro, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. lol...man, it's way too slow around here for someone from new york. but thanks for the offer. alas, if i do anything, it'll be from scratch! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. IHoP a humping..lol.. work is the dead. as per usual, i'm teh only one here, on time. god, this place sucks balls. it should go under soon. i'd try to buy it, but i wouldn't want to try and assume this place's debt with vendors. not too mention the light company just called... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. lol, instead of tech team..call them mythbusters..that'll do! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
