  3. Term Lab numbers; I tested both subs, sealed and ported. I did it Db Drag style, mic on the glass, just above the dash, windows rolled up and vehicle off. This was all rD Classic. The only time the maw got the better of the Classic was at 70-75hz sealed. And it got it by 3db. Otherwise it went like this, Maw12 sealed, 127db, occurring at 47hz Classic 12 sealed, 128db, occurring at 46hz Maw12 ported, 130.6db, occurring at 42hz Classic12 ported, 131.8db, occurring at 45hz The sealed enclosure was on top of the rear seat, driver
  4. Sealed box testing; The Maw12 was in a bit bigger box then recommended, still it faired very well. With either fast double kicks or drop down low bass lines, it delivered and did so very well. As long as the music was fairly simple, this thing worked wonders. Let it get a bit complicated and it would get a tad muddy. Not overbearing muddy, but it would make it hard to tell what was trying to play. I never got it to bottom out either. A rated 350wrms sub, it was taking the ~600wrms from the Belle with relative ease. It would get warm and the coil would let me know I was giving it too much, but I never reached mechanical limits. Output was a bit disappointing. Not poor, but not what I expected. It loves the low lows, it does great on the fast stuff, it

  6. Ok folks, here it is! The Mach5 Maw12 vs. the rD Classic 12 showdown! I want to thank Mark from Mach5 and Kevin From Low-hz, with a shout out to Steve from rD, for providing the subs. It ahs been fun, and it has been a learning experience. Nothing better then playing with new toys. Ok, on with the setup. The vehicle is a 2004 Chevy Silverado extended cab. There is a yellow top under the hood, 1/0 Memphis wiring throughout, and a factory 105 amp alternator. The Big 3 has been done as well, also in 1/0. The source unit is a Clarion DXZ955MC, with the HPF set to 125 and the LPF set to 80. The amplification is provided by a Memphis Memphis Belle, MCH1300, which will provide these two subs ~600wrms @ 2ohm. The gains are set to just clipping using an o-scope and a 50hz note. Enclosures will be a 1.25ft^3 sealed affair, and a 2ft^3 @ 34hz w/a 4
  7. well, get to diggin my man, lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  8. or to avoid deer collisions? that horn in front might jsut do it, lol... and since we've had a deer smack the side of a vehicle, one can assume the side horns protect against that as well? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  9. hit it anyway.....just make sure you have run to run..lol. she might knock you out when she hits back....hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  10. i di some diggin.... i found flakko and teh real pr0n behind the new moofer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVCb52iQrfo...ted&search= enjoy... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  11. i'm in at 235, 20%. i'm fat. screw you guys and yoru low teens, single digit fat numbers. the diet is right, there jsut isn't enough excercise, and i hate going alone. noone to push me makes working out boring. btw, metered the maw12, the rD classic 12 and even teh ICON tonight,. will be writing reviews and posting them, with pics soon! all three subs impress. twas a fun afternoon! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  12. Are you actually getting an RD? actually have one sitting on my couch, lol. kevin holden actually followed through. there is a rD classic waiting to go into the truck later today. it might put the maw12 a bit back as far as review goes due to the fact the rD has to back by the 21st. but i'm going to try and get as much as both done today as possible. steve seems ok enough. he didn't want to do this almost as much as ben. and he'd prefer it go up against mainstreme only, as a way of knocking on jsut the big dogs. i'll throw a cvr in truck and maybe an m3 to meter. but once he learned i was getting one, he sent me soem boxes specs without my asking. he really wants his sub to do well, but then again, who wouldn't. as of this moment, it's only ben i have any real issue with. his chickenshit behavior jsut flat pisses me off. so mcuh so, that he'd be worth going to jail for, jsut to apply a nice ass whooping on his punk ass. kevin at least followed through, and is wanting to back up his words. steve, while reluctant, is doing the same. so they both get respect from me over that. as too ecoustics, well, i agree with mark5 assessment. it's a free for all. and as such, there isn't a such a thing as stooping too low. if one wants a piece of that pie, one jsut needs to wh0re one's goods. and let the consumer decide. if nothing else, it would provide interesting reading, and with mark5 throwing up validation links and ben not, makes one out a liar and the other a solid product. so one could learn quite a bit about the product as well.... btw, i'm rambling on a bit today...hmmmm wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  13. awesome Is there gonna be a tracking #? If not, that's fine just let me know when you ship it so I have an idea of when it will arrive. Thanks again, -John yep, you'll have a tracking number bro. just waiting on the ICON to get here to make sure of fitment. at that time, i'll hit you up with a pm and we can discuss anythign that needs to be done. afterwhich, it's boxed box and shipped to you bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. evening sean. taint noone else here, and i'm fixing to bail. schedule for tomorrow.. 1) go job hunting. again. maybe i'll find one this time. 2) drop truck off for service. oil change and service 4 wheel drive light. 3) meter the maw12 in it's sealed box. after which, it goes ported. 4) the rD classic should be here tomorrow. that goes in sealed. 5) the ICON should be here tomorrow as well. that goes in last, lol. i'll finish up the maw12/rD classic h2h, ported and sealed, then throw the ICON in. sealed first, then ported. i'll never get to listen to it, lol. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. john, the side post adaptor will be in the box, with the box! should ship out thrusday, or late tomorrow night. depends on what happens with the ICON. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. what about those rides that have been treated, ummmmmmm, well, you know....ok, i didn;t know the mudhole was that deep, ok? the fact the water hit the windshield and we came out the other side speaks bounds about the truck. adn ripping the exhaust off. all i can say is, they weren't my welds. my welds wouldn't have broken. and the fact that the truck was repeatily a few feet int he air, well, that just shouldn't matter. oh..back to my question. the inside looks good!! lol. but in any case, i'll have pics soon! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. x2 wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. good job bro! and good luck later! no offense, but we've seen you and your trophies enough i think. for now on, just put up all the hooter's girls you can. we'll understand, lol, and promise to read the post as well...hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. you can't go wrong with the rl-i. it's under rated a bit, has great output potential, and is/can be a small box woofer. and it's backed by one helluva nice guy. that being said, the other options listed above by denim are in the same playing field. solid performers, excellent people behind them and a good price. anyone of those three would be a great choice. teh ICON would be the rarest/biggest no one else has them factor at the moment. the fi is the middle child with the rl-i being the oldest sub in the group. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. teh mag under $250? where at denim? lol... but the other subs listed will be close... and denim is right. yoru dropping cone area, and the hx2s aren't no slouch. the new box will play a big role in the overall output side of things. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. i like the ported 12" bl setup. we've done numerous installs here where we've gone from a pair of sealed subs with x number of watts to a single ported setup, ie: 15" m3s, pr 1000d, to 15" mojo, same amp) with the same power and the single ported setup was louder, by quite a bit. sound quality didn't seem to suffer much as these are installs dominated by hip hop music. for more overall sq, without lacking much output, i'd go with the first option as well. but, i'm really liking number 2.....hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. how do they sound compared to L7's, because they dont sound all that great personally, i prefer the L7s sound over the T1 and T2s. i also like the sq of the solox over either fosgate sub. and the L7 and solo x will more then hold their own against them, if not beat them, for output. the last line of subs i truly liked from rf was the hx2 line, my punch hx2 8s were insane. after that, they are just a waste of money. so much more out there for less money with the same or better performance. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. and dado's aren't cheap. grandpa has several nice ones, i love those things. ain't nothing much cooler then removing a nice thick line of wood, lol. hope you find them ryan2 wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. oh, and wassup! lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. mike's pretty dead on with his box recommendations. for the rl-i8, the flattest response was givin at .17ft^3, i was skeptical at first. but all be damn if that lil beast doesn't work great in that little sumbitch of a box. the thing is jsut barely big enough to hold the friggin sub, lol. so i would go with the recommendation. if nothign else, one can always had polyfil. on the flip side, go big. if it sounds like ass, block it. take away airspace. either way has a way out. email mike as well. let him know what power, what car and what yoru looking to achieve. he'll shoot back with a box recommendation. though i'll wager it's close tothe 2.5, hehe wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
