I just realized that the actual baffle part of the clam doesn't have to go all the way to the bottom and top of the box. lol...I just realized by raising the area where the baffle meets the front of the box, I will gain a lot of mounting depth. i think this is how you're getting the necessary mounting depth. I'm a dingous lol.

I was planning on 2 layers all the way around and 3 on the baffles with a shitton of 3/4" all thread bracing.

Here are some pics of the area I have to work with.

I was thinking a clam wall, but the mounting depth of the subs is about 12".

Like the port firing out of the center of the diamond, where the subs are mounted. And the external dimensions are 48" wide by 45" high by 33" deep, then there is a 5" step up on the floor, that area can be 48" wide by 35" high by 25"-30" deep. I'll get some pics up in a second.

I have 4 DP21"s and 2 SAZ-3000d's that I'm stuffing in my 03 Expedition. I'm looking for ways to get enough port area with the subs...The box will be at the B-pillars sealed from the back. It will be about 40 cubes tuned to between 30 and 32 hz. So I'm wandering if I could port through the diamond itself without any problems. Or would this be bad?...Any other ways to get sufficient port area would be appreciated also.

He told me he had 9 cubes......i thought it was crazy, but i told him to go 2 sealed, 6 ported with 3k tuned to 55 HZ instead it was 1.3 sealed playing into who knows how much ported tuned high. I think it would be louder in a regular porte dbox. problem is he doesnt have enough height to even do that......not even at a slant...... I tried to convince him to go with a 15.......hell the kid wanted a pair of 18's..... He was gonna do a wall with a pair, but his mom didn't want him tearing his car up. And I suggested a 15" if he was staying in the trunk as well. He said he had the room for an 18"...I guess well find out soon when the sub gets here.

I know that guy, and like i told him and the builder, that sub will be louder in a proper ported..... and for this build HOLY SHAT that is nuts Why did he decide to go 4th order. I have a strong feeling you know more about audio than they do. And when are Wardens coming to the Neon lol. I stuck my head in it with the DP's and it moves a ton of air.

Explain please? The BTL is an spl sub, and the Xcon is more of a heavy duty sq sub.

Ya, don't want to strap two different amps. Get another SAZ-2000 and have some headroom.

I know it depends on a lot of different things. But I have a feeling that something else was going on besides the amps being strapped.

I was at a show this weekend and was gonna meet up with a friend up there. When I got there, my friend and his friend were working in the trunk of his car on his amps. I asked what was wrong and he said that his amps were clipping, so he was unstrapping them. Then he said that the Sundown amps perform better unstrapped. He had them strapped at one ohm, and unstrapped at .5 each and said they do better unstrapped...I'm not too sure on his electrical by the way. So my question is, is what I was told true? Thanks.

Well, I'm adding 2 more DP21"s to my Expedition in a month or two. I was planning on doing a clam wall at the B-pillars. But I also started thinking doing a diamond type enclosure would be pretty sweet too. So I'm looking for some opinions on what you think would be louder, first and foremost, and look better. Which ever design I go with will be at the B-pillars, between 35 and 40 cubes, tuned to 32hz. Please explain why you voted the way you did. I have never done either of these designs, so any tips are also appreciated. The subs.
