  1. What exactly does that mean. Are you saying that you have left and right of one channel going to a speaker as well as the LOC?
  2. I vote for which ever one will take up less space when each woofer is put in it's optimum enclosure.
  3. My thought on it was, and the reason I asked if the tuning could be manipulated, if he got a hole saw, cut a hole and then slid (and of course properly sealed and attached) the proper sized round port he could change tuning to something a little lower without affecting the boxs internal volume too much. Beause there are already the other ports I wouldn't guess that he wouldnt need too big of a port to get say 32Hz tuning.
  4. I looked at the subzero site and those boxes don't look to bad and they are 3/4" MDF, some even have bracing. I think most of the prefab hatred is for the people that just pick any box as opposed to making sure it is the right size for their app and also because some of those swap meet prefabs might as well be made of 6 pieces of toast for all their structural integrity. I think Mr Ray said 1200 was were the RL-p started to show it's limitations (based on his first hand accounts) so a gained down 1200 should be fine. As for the tuning, this is a question for you Kent, would more port area raise or lower tuning? Would it be possible to manipulate the tuning by modifying the existing port (by slugging or say adding a round port)? I'm just curious.
  5. That site sucks. I entered my address and it shows nothing which is contrary to the map on the meagans law site which looks closer to the chicago pic right above my post.
  6. So does that mean with the new box it now surpasses the performance of the ID's?
  7. Ahhh I get it. Laminar flow. I have dealt with this in my overclocking/water cooling hobby. So cougar needs to improve the surface area vs perimiter ratio to reduce the effect he is experienceing.
  8. Thanks RayDogg
  9. The dims don't matter it's the total cube you want to know. So using Neons 2.04 and your max allowed dims and lets assume that you want to shorten the width so you would calc 7 * 24 * X = (2.04*1728) giving you 7 x 24 x 20.98 internal dims or 8.5 x 22.5 x 25.5 external
  10. What about you Ray Dogg, what blades do you use? How many teeth?
  11. Well I got me a porter cable mag324 7-1/4 circular saw....any advise on blades? I was lookin at say a 30-40 somthin tooth carbon blade. Is that good for 3/4" MDF (for boxes) & pine (for furniture)? Any advice other than don't cut anything valuable off. I have used cir saws before but this is my first time owning one and I plan to use it a good bit.
  12. Hayabusa engine in a sport car???????????? In a 3000 lb block of steel? With a tiny 1300cc engine? Denim as for the poll, I think it should be 2 polls per engine size. One for modded and one for stock as my chioce would change depending on which. For example stock I would say Honda engine. But modded I would say Mitsu or Nissan. Just a thought.
  13. Could you guys please explain port velocity. Thanks Jerry
  14. Magnums are AWD??????????? .....and 680hp on the stock tranny, thats impressive....I never liked those magnums but they must be built like tanks...well I guess it should be with the 5.7hemi but I am also not much of a Dodge fan....I thnk I am still scarred from my childhood....my mom used to have a dodge like the one from "Hunter" and it was brown with a blue door.....but then again it did run but it was a......Dodge.....but then again there is the 1972 Dodge Challenger......I hope you enjoy it and again please post up when it's done.
  15. Considering what each does, the +'s & -'s of the various engines....I have always liked superchargers on wheezers (4 & 6 cylinders) and turbos on anything big (8's, 10's & 12's). There is just so much exhaust that a turbo can spool up fast as hell on a big engine and the big engines already have so much power down low that you can break the tires loose without forced induction. No point in having power you can't put down to the pavement. I am betting at 600+ hp your car will not be as much fun especially with the tires breaking loose everytime you mash it. Just my 2 pesos. No matter what you do post up what you think about it. Oh yeah and just so you understand I think there is alot more to enjoy then just going straight, that is why for me monster hp is not always the answer and this is just my opinion, I am not knocking what your planning. Good luck bro.
  16. Anything inline over a 6 makes for an ugly a$$ car (excluding of course classics like Dueseys). Stretchs the hood line more than half the total length of the car. And tire you forgot to mention not only were they tanks but they were well ahead of their time....for instance, dueseys had dohc's.
  17. hope you insurred the package.
  18. I had no idea and I wanted to get a truck, I might have to rethink it now. Damn it, it's not car audio it's car witchcraft...........You know the more I learn the more confused I get
  19. Good to hear, unfotuneately yours is a rare opinion...and I agree 100%. As for cutting a blow through, don't do that. And maybe it is just my age but 1 12" sitting under my arm would be more than enough for me and two would be just rediculous, and 2 MTs that are not for compitition is just stupid. I mean we are talking about in the cab with you right. Is there some mystical bass robbing property in trucks? How about just porting the single woofer?
  20. Do you really need that much bass in such a small space? Maybe you need to revisit your current install? And if it is just a matter of "I want everyone to hear me coming" then put both woofers in the bed and call it a day.
  21. That was great but the all time fuzz f-up has to go to the dea agent who was teaching kids about gun safety and then shoots himself in the foot...........
  22. Buicks Turbofied V6 - dated technology my ass, who else can get such amazing performance out of a V6, no one. And yes I realize that this engine requires mad mods to get cooking but the thing that speaks volumes is that the platform can take all those mods. Chevy's rule - to be specific the LS6 - but actually more important is the fuel injection which allows a monster to get a real (from my friend who owns a new vette) world 19mpg city. Fords 308 5.0 liter Mustang engine. Never has there ever been a sweeter sounding engine that can do rediculous power like a modded stang. And don't tell me about it's the exhaust because I have never heard another car sound like a stang no matter what exhaust was put on it. Honda's B & H series engines - 110+hp per liter stock is fricken rediculous. Now if we could just get an American car company to make a 3.0 liter V8 with tiny pistons rockin at 12K+ rpms with that intoxicating F1 sound then we would really have a winner.

  24. AVG is a great free one. It misses no more than any of the other big ones. However if you have a little cash the best of the best is Kaspersky as it also detect trojans which no other AV does effectively. As for the free Norton, that is warez, aka pirated software, i.e. stolen...
