My new box
I fold my front passenger seat down and it is almost like a ramp to the sensor. I also have my visors parallel to the windshield and I angle my rearview mirror toward the sensor. Another thing I do even though it is uncomfortable as hell is I move my driver's seat as close to the steering wheel and lean it forward. I also found out through testing that my glovebox actually hurts my score being open. It is a single baffle. This box is very sturdy and as far as I can tell, there is no flex at all on the box. I use a 55hz test tone at about half volume to get that score. My amp is wired at half ohm.

My new box
Some of the mods that I am willing to try is to round the angle inside the box with a piece of pvc pipe and round the corners to have a smooth air flow out the port.

My new box
Well he did say it's tuned to 49 hz and is talking about SPL scores, so..... Have you tried facing the port to the rear? Yes, I tried that and it went down 1 db to 148.6

My new box
We had a show this past weekend. I noticed that the rubber gasket kept blowing out and that some of the screws were actually loose on the top subwoofer. I took the rubber gasket off and tightened the screws and then I taped the top of the basket to get a good seal. I ended up doing a 149.6 on the Term-Lab sealed on the dash. I need 4 tenths to get that 150 sealed. I am open to any and all suggestions. I want to do this with my cuurent setup.

Nov. 14th Show
What a Great Show! I finally competed in an Iasca Event. I used to do nothing but IASCA back in the day. I did my best number yesterday of 149.6 db. I haven't done any mods to the box yet. I did take the rubber gasket off the top sub because it was blowing out and causing air leaks. I taped around the sub and that stopped the air leak. Other than that, I did go up on the subwoofer level on my cd player by one. I need 4 tenths to get that 150 sealed on the dash. I feel that it can be done before I get my SAZ3500D Amplifier soon. If anybody has any suggestions, I am open to any and all that would gain me that 4 tenths.

My new box
My buddy Yoda got the design off of term-pro from Yuli, aka Tinted. except his design was for twelves. Yoda uses autocad at his work and actually made blueprints for my 15's The 149.2 was sealed and on the termlab.

My new box
I bought a 4 ft concrete cylinder at Lowe's I am thinking about doing some experimenting with it to see what I can get out of it. Some people call them sonotubes or something of that nature.

My new box
Actually, it is 2 15's. This is a crx style box, except built bigger for 15's. The port is 8 inch, with a flare of over 10 inches. The box is tuned at 49 hz and peaks so far at 55hz.. I am thinking about taking the front sub out and putting another front piece to cover the hole and see how it does just with one 15.

My new box
Hey guys! Well, I finally built a box on my own. it is not pretty, but then pretty doesn't always add db's. It is 4.13 cubes before displacement and 3. something after displacement. I still have a lot to do inside the box, but it did quite well without any improvements done to it yet. In initial testing, I was able to do 149.19db and at the show I did 149.2. I could probably do better with fully charged batteries. Not too bad for a small box. I have some pics. Tell me what you think.

Help Gaining SPL In My SUV
I close my air vents which does gain. I also put my sun visors parallel to the windshield and angle my mirror toward the meter. I also put my passenger seatback forward to the dash and open my glove box.

Help Gaining SPL In My SUV
The Peak note is 52 Hz. We have done numerous tests and subs back port back yield the best results. We recently flipped the box to where the subs and port face up for S&G's and it was one db louder. Still trying to get that 150 db sealed goal.

Help Gaining SPL In My SUV
Hello all. I have a 2007 Kia Sportage with 2 Nightshade Dual 2 ohm 15's powered by a Sundown SAZ 3000D amplifier. I have the Big3 done and everything is deadened except the roof. That will be done with Damplifier Pro in the near future. I have 2 Optima Yellowtop D-34 Batteries in back for the amp and a smaller yellowtop under the hood. Here is a pic of the setup. I turn my subwoofer box up and get better numbers. My best to date is 149 Sealed on the dash. All I want is one more DB. I would appreciate anybodies input on how to gain 1 more db.

New Box for the Jeep
The Jeep sounds awesome Jacob. Strong bass like that will definitely tear some stuff up in a vehicle. I hope my 15's don't tear up too much in my suv.
