Anyone heard of Power bastards?
this is what Mike from Power Bastards said Is the output rating cold or hot?HotWhat is the idle output?110A+What is the idle rpm rating at idle output? We consider idle to be 650RPMHow is the cooling system at peak output?Great How long can is sustain maximum output?Depends on the vehicle (alternator mounted next to header?)What is the maximum alt rpms it can receive before failure?More than your engine can spinWhat is the maximum output rpm rated at?1200RPMWhat is the voltage regulator set at if internally regulated?14.6vIs it direct bolt on or is modification required?Direct bolt onWill it effect or is it controlled by the car's computer?Controlled exactly as the stock alternatorDo i need an overdrive pulley for proper idle output?Monthly special going on right now, free overdrive pulley already pre-installed on all alternators. i dont know quite what this means and actually i was looking at the wrong one 289 w/o shipping

Anyone heard of Power bastards?
I never said that cheaper was better. Sometimes that is the case. i'm merely looking at my options, geting feedback about other companies.

Anyone heard of Power bastards?

Amp stopped working..
As always in life like Jay said, shortcuts end in short commings. Might as well buy a new amplifier.

Refurbs?
I bought my Sundown Audio 3000d from Db-r took a bit to ship. when i recieved it, it smoked; his assistant soldered the power leads to short and they broke. i sent it back (poorly shipped i might add not knowing and being dumb). the RCA's got crunched in. he fixed it for free then shipped it back for free. A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ workmanship and cheap. i wouldn't buy refurbs from anyone else, the customer service was great, got back to me good and he was always VERY patient with me even when i called most days to get an update.

Best fasteners for high SPL builds
i've heard that gorilla glue is pretty tough stuff, haven't experienced it but thought i might throw that into the proverbial swimming pool of glues

how can i tell if i have 2 or 4 ohm colis
you test each coil individual then you can wire either parallel or series

Fi or SSa
I've always heard SSA was great, i personally own a Fi Bl 15 on a Sundown audio 3000d running at 2 ohms and it BEATS

Lanzar OPTI1233D Optidrive?
I've been looking at the Lanzar OPTI1233D series subwoofers. Specs: * Auto speakers feature custom tooled die-cast aluminum basket * Car subwoofers feature black laminated pulp cone * Oversized 2-inch foam surround * Dual 3-inch high temperature voice coil * Three (3) 125-ounce high density barium ferrite magnets Specifications: * Power: 3,000 watts RMS/6,000 watts peak * Frequency response: 50Hz to 300Hz * Impedance: Dual 1.2 ohms DVC * Efficiency: 87dB (1W/m) I thought Lanzar was usually pretty crappy but these actually look like non-mainstream woofers. if they are any good for 290 dollars they're not very bad.. if they actually handle that much.. some pictures

nightshade 15s or fi bl 15s
to be honest you will not hear an audible difference between 1.5kw and 2kw unless you're competing it wouldn't make a difference. Pick whichever fits your budget best, the Bl's are around 300 dollars or so and the NS comes fully loaded 525 dollars. I have the Bl and love it.

Question about batteries needed
Cant go wrong with Xs batteries. or tons of AH.

Mach 5 SPL12 terminals
instead of twisting the wire try pulling it to make it more even and flat, i had the same problems attempting to twist it, it just made it bigger than just pulling on it straight. I hope that makes sense lol.

Waking up amps...

Trupan Light
"First is its weight. Trupan Light is only 80% of the overall weight of regular MDF. This will yield a much lighter enclosure overall" from FC website.

Trupan Light
Yeah that's what i've been reading basically. also im worried about the MDF splitting due to screws.
-
Trupan Light
a lot of dust and glue floating around in the air when its being ripped, people coughing up blood, I've heard it cuts evenly and smoother, routes easier, and holds screws much better than MDF. and it's not as hard on equipment as MDF
