  2. Sell the 15" box, build a 12", and run a BL 12". Plain and simple, do that and it will pound. And NO, not anything will sound better, putting a large woofer into a small box makes the woofer choke and it sound horrible. So, you shouldn't get a 15" sub, simple as that. Take it from another school kid, do not get another 15". Unless you build a bigger box somehow.
  3. That's how most kids are though, one kid does it and he gets a little attention, or more so then the others, then EVERYONE has to do it to.
  4. You probably wouldn't hear a difference. If anything it will sound worse because of the box. What is so bad about running a single 12"?
  5. Well your not going to get much help here to be honest. Fi doesn't want to have to warranty you a woofer because your not smart enough to know how to use it. Your thinking about this all wrong and just trying to be all the kids in your area. Why don't you try to make it sound better, and be louder.
  6. I think you need to learn how to set your amps settings before getting purchasing another subwoofer just to damage it. What do you mean you want a new sub you can recone (thats ridiculous, just a waste of money). Save this somewhere on your computer for future reference so you dont keep pucking up equipment: all the amp settings were fine, i know how to set that, i just accidentally wired it as a 1 ohm instead of 2 i cant set my hu bc its a stock one and i dont want to replace it (i will look really bad in a bmw) i had those settings on my amp though, i actually made sure it wasnt all the way up bc i didnt want to blow it, ironic i know It is impossible to wire a DVC woofer to either 1 or 2. You don't have the ability to do both in anyway at all.
  7. ported but the only thing that fits in my car, i built it to exact dimensions of my car Then you shouldn't be running a 15". A single 12" in the proper box would out perform a 15" in a chocked box. i got a really good deal on the 15, actually less than the 12 so i got it, i know a bunch of people at my school with them and they sounded really really good so i got one Well your box isn't big enough for a 15", maybe a cheap one. But not a good 15". You would be MUCH happier with a kickass 12" in the proper box. What is your current box tuned to?

  9. That box is to small for a 15" IMO Is it sealed or ported?
  10. Why do you want the ability to re-cone? Sounds like you plan on blowing it.
  11. I really hope I get this Van today.
  12. I'm sure you will be able to find one around then.
  13. You would either have to sell the 3000 and get two 3500's. Or try really hard to find another used 3000.
  14. Sealed boxes are best for hair tricks? I am now in deep confusion and need to sleep this off.
  15. What are your goals? What are you looking for?
  16. What items do you have for sale?
  17. I am very happy with my Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X993. It has everything I have wanted to far, the only thing I want more of is EQing options. Which I think I will fix with either a new deck, probably the 9887. Or a Fosgate 3sixty.2.
  18. Since your already interested in the Alpine, I would go ahead and get that. It is a very nice amp. You should never use a cap, but if this is going to power you whole system you might want to get a small battery for the trunk, Kinetik 600 maybe? Just to help with storage, cause I have seen a PDX 100.4 dim the lights in a truck pretty bad.
  19. Check and make sure your box isn't falling apart. Or, that your box is rattling against anything.
  20. Caps are designed to stabilize an already beefy electrical. If you have NO drop, then a cap can be used to keep the voltage at the same point without dips and rises by a few 1/10th's. But if you have voltage drop, then a cap is useless.
  21. I may be getting a new ride this week, a 98 Astro, I need to deaden the doors
  22. Just get in touch with DC Power, they will probably have what you need. You could always run 350 amp alt
  23. I have all three types of wire. From what I can tell, the Knu wire has more stands then the Kicker, which is second, then the welding cable with the lowest count. I haven't had any issue with any of the wire, all seems to let power flow easy with little resistance. Although, the welding cable is MUCH stiffer then the Kicker or Knu wire.
