Ill fix the video when I get home.- DD 9518Z + 5,000W + PT Cruiser = LOUD
What's up guys? I've been without internet since I moved into my own place. But now I'm back, and with a completed build log! Here's the basics. 2001 PT Cruiser Limited Edition Pioneer Premier DEH-800PRS 2 Sundown Audio SAZ-2000's 1 Sundown Audio SAX-100.4 1 Digital Designs 9518Z 3 Deka G31's 100'+ of Knu KCA 1/0 It started with the PT The one on the right. Low miles FTW! Interior Next logical step was the radio. At this point I had no idea what I was doing for the substage. All I had were my 2000's. A friend of mine called me with the offer to buy his BNIB DD 9518Z for an amazing price. So I jumped on it. So I knew what was going in there. Just had to power it. Made my 1/0 order and rings. This is all the wire I had at the time. Then it was time to install. At this point batteries and all wiring was in. Just needed to build box and install amps. We left the house at 4:30 headed to my friends house in Biloxi, MS to build. I've showed a few of his videos here. He has the Digital Designs 160db 4 15"s F-150. Basic Plotting of box. Starting to build. Once the box was done I had to build an amp rack to hold the amps in front the batteries. Video's coming later today.- DD 9518Z enclosure ideas
Just curious, how much you paid? That is a sexy son of a ...... $400.- DD 9518Z enclosure ideas
Well I got it all figured out thanks to a very loud friend of mine. He will be here next weekend to help with the build. 4th order bandpass.- Is bigger better?
I would defiantly go for more port area, and in doing so a 34Hz tune will get down low while keeping upper end output. I'd say go for 20^2 of port per cube inside the box. Also, I'd bring the port all the way to one side and run it a long the side and back, as with the larger port area the port will have to be longer. And BTW, Sub up port back sounds just fine.- DD 9518Z enclosure ideas
Oh yea.....- DD 9518Z enclosure ideas
I just picked up a BNIB D.7 9518Z from a friend of mine. I am going back and forth between doing a normal ported enclosure or a 4th order bandpass. I have about 6-7 cubes net to work with. Its going in the back of my PT Cruiser on two Sundown SAZ-2000's at .7ohm each. So 4500+rms, but less obviously for daily. What do y'all think?- 1 amp per solo x, which would be better???
No one has asked. 1. What are you driving? 2. What size Solo X's do you have? 3. What type of enclosure will they be in? 4. What kind of music do you like? 5. And finally, what is you level of audio knowledge? Answer these in order please.- From 1 18 to 2 18's
x2 aq's arent a good choice for daily they like power and high tuning. and for competing i would recommend tuning higher. not going to get too loud that low This is completely ridiculous, DD and AQ are both very good daily woofers. And you defiantly don't have to tune high to be competitive. As long as the enclosure is correct.- Multiple amp electrical questions
So your saying ported boxes are sloppy and bad sounding? Every enclosure I've had a hand in has played Slayer double bass just as well as it did Young Jeezy. And so you know, I don't believe in sealed boxes. Just me.- saz-1000d stable at .5ohm?
It's pointless, I had two SAZ-1000's at .5 each, popped fuses every time I turned it up due to the much higher current draw and the fuses inability to keep the supply. And if you don't know what your talking about, please do not reply with your stupidity. This is probably the most ignorant statement I have read today, how dare you accuse the amp of not being able to support 1ohm because you were not smart enough to figure out how to run the amp at 1ohm.- Old school Alpine deadhead decks
My GF and I both high very high-end SQ based head units neither one are deadheads. Most high end head units have the option to turn the internal amp off anyway, so the need for a dead head is essentially void. Just get the one that you like the most/can afford.- give me a bad rep
You'll get one from me. I cannot stand how you make stupidass threads about the simplest shit and never even listen to advice given- G+
I have one. Add me [email protected]- Knu's OFC vs CCA
How is it worth it ? Audible difference ? Exactly Adrian, there is no audible difference.- FI BTLs,Crescendo BC5500Ds,16 volt system, mean hairtricks and flex
Let us know if they hold .25 each.....- Dual 12" L7's ?
These woofers will fit your budget much better and most likely out perform the L7 in every single way and you can get 4 for the price of 2 L7's. http://www.audioque.com/Street-Duty-SDC25-12-D4-Subwoofer_p_11.html true 1200+w rms amp if you do 2 woofers. http://www.audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html True 2200+w rms amp if you do 4 woofers. http://www.audioque.com/AQ2200D-Amplifier_p_31.html- Knu's OFC vs CCA
Here we go again. Lord..... Do this, buy two runs of CCA in place of the one run of OFC for probably less money.- Hello From Japan!
Pictures or R32 or Welcome!- New to the forum and Car Audio in general
My best advice, it to NEVER and I mean NEVER buy something without research into the product. The best we can do is off what we would do with your budget, listening style, and goals of the system.- Upgraded to a SAZ-3500d
Kickers are more efficient than Sundown amps... As a matter of fact, many long time sundown amp owners will even tell you that sundown isn't the most efficient amps they have used.. It's nothing bad, it's not like they are class ab efficient, hehe, but they are not on the top of the list of efficiency. You want some REAL efficient amps... Stetsom is by far the most efficient. Cadence and Kicker are way up there too. I completely disagree with this statement. I used to run a Kicker ZX2500.1 and now I own the exact same amp (SAZ-3500D) I run this amp at .6 ohms daily with no issues. I won't say Kicker is crap but as far as efficiency goes Sundown amps are definitely higher than Kicker. I won't even begin to talk about Kicker subs. Anyway, I know you will enjoy this amp, it's awesome. And you had the EXACT same electrical with both amps? I doubt it.- 4 SA-15/SAZ3500d Walled GMC Sierra
Personally, I would do port behind driver with 20^2-22^2 of port per cube.- audiobaun 1300 watt flame amp
