the old stuff well how old? because the REALLY REAALLY old usamps that dont have xovers or gain knobs, were meant ONLY for subs. you can run them with comps, but you have no way to control the power unless you have an external gain knob or something. but the circuits are clean man... i would put them up there with brax and stuff

IIRC the rainbow SLCs use some small very inexpensive (electrolytic caps and very small wire awg inductors... I saw a pic of one that melted nicely) parts... So the people would rather us use small parts than higher quality parts? Or somewhere in between? ~18 awg inductors and mylars? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i personally would like smaller parts than high quality.... or smaller high quality parts....KIS yo and it would also be much much cheaper...and those prices... are they preorder/entry?

i would personally go straight to the source... give usamps a call, and say that you ahve a busted amp you need to be repaired, explain the syptoms, and see what they can do for you.. and skunk.... i didnt understand that post one bit lol

hode up i asked yesterday, they are putting even more improvements up on the amps... they are adding some mica stuff to decrease the heat transfer between the fets and the heatsink. this will obviously have the amp run cooler AND prolong the lifespan.

i edited it
