  1. Even with a couple options added, they both fit comfortably in the budget. We've been looking for a couple years, the past one year very seriously at something fullsize, safe, in the budget, practical, well-rounded, good on the highway, able to handle harsh winters, and something that isn't going to have major problems in a year or two in which I have to shell out big bucks. This is why I am a little hesitant to get another GM ... If I don't get the BMW, I'm in big trouble ...
  2. I'm sure DigiKey has eighty million different colors and sizes Have you read any tutorials on it? Seems fairly easy ... I am just trying to remember where I last seen one written up nicely.
  3. What do you mean it might do what kicker wants it to?? See original poster's username.
  4. To be honest, I'm sure you'd be just fine with regular LEDs.
  5. I have a student from each 'group' this semester. - girl with airport luggage type backpack on wheels - dressed in all black with tears drawn on their face - mom of two kids who tries to relate everything I say to the kids and the past 40 years of her life. Always has a question, and never puts her hand down. - one individual brings a purse, a backpack, a travel bag, an umbrella, and probably their groceries and four other pairs of shoes to every class - the furious note taker. Frantically pounding away on their laptop trying to get every word down. - the douchebag who sits at the back of the class and replies to my questions with snide remarks. - opposite of the douchebag, I call her the General. No matter what I say, this 18 year old apparently has more experience in the field and believes everything I say is wrong. - Touchy McFeelerson. Can't keep her hands off of me during a conversation. - a couple individuals who I call "Mr. and Mrs. I did one year of school in Africa and developed my own religion" ... who start every sentence with "When I was in Africa ..." - bert and ernie who sit in the back of the class and NEVER turn their cell phones to vibrate or off. - the grade assasin. No matter how I graded the paper or exam, I didn't do it correctly. - the computer science and math double major. Showers maybe once a week. - the Texan. I cannot understand a word you're saying. Quit making your accent thicker than it really is, I have been to the States and know what it sounds like. - the person who asks questions about the exams on the first day of class. "How many marks? What types of questions? How long do we have?" Read the course outline. - the cheater ... I'm not an idiot - I know you don't need a TI-83 for a course like HIST 4xxx; and - the activist. I will build the largest diesel truck I can, just for her.
  6. I was going to make a joke about your hair being more of a distraction than the blue LED swap, but I refrained. Until now.
  7. Yes, and that is why they come with a dimmer knob From the studies I have read, it seems to require a medium to high intensity light for long durations. This isn't the case with you and driving, I am sure.
  8. From a physiological standpoint, there have been numerous studies suggesting that blue light can damage our eyes. Blue light can damage the cells of the retina, which can eventually lead to macular degeneration. Just recently have there been a couple studies popping up stating that blue light is fine for your eyes, but they do not appear to have any consistent or convincing evidence justifying their reasonings. Nevertheless, you are probably correct in saying that a faint blue light on the dash of a vehicle would be fine. If it is fairly bright and you are looking at it quite often (lots of night driving), it might cause problems down the road. If the light is that bright, however, I would be worried about being pulled over and written a ticket first.
  9. I'm going to keep it completely stock and not beat the crap out of it. I too have heard that the IRS is a weak point. Naturally, I will have to go over both of them top to bottom in person, and I'll do that to the CTS this month. I think there is a CTS-DI at the dealership ... I'll take a look/drive whenever I get the truck in for service.
  10. Keep me updated Do you have any thoughts or remarks on either vehicle?
  11. Comparing the CTS and 3 series. Will be looking at the CTS this month for sure. Something will be bought this summer.
  12. I love my 7998 units. The wife has one as well.
  13. I was worried about the same thing with my birch ply I used for my towers. After a few coats of sanding sealer they were just fine. My sanding sealer sands off white ... I'm sure you know already, but make sure you vacuum or blow all of the dust off the project as it is very fine. I followed with many fine coats of lacquer. Finally, I finished with a furniture polish applied by super fine steel wool and a couple coats of furniture wax. They should turn out just fine.
  14. That is one of the ugliest things I have ever seen.
  15. Jan 1st 2008 ... T - 15 years until retirement.
  16. In-law staying with you, Mike? Always trouble!
  17. No, no anything 14 feet tall The room is about 15 x 30. I would ideally like to do an ottoman (approx 18 x 18 x whatever length). This way I could use it in many different rooms as we plan on moving shortly and rooms may be changed around. It may even wind up at the foot of the bed with a different set of towers in the bedroom.
  18. I can almost guarantee Jim quotes the first line and replies with some sort of naughty smilie face.
  19. I'm going to make you happy, Jim. I'm going to pull the Uber and finally get it in the house. I promise ... it is going to happen this summer, late August at the latest. Way back when, Josh recommended running it with dual 18" PR's - I only have one, and he said that the single one may not cut it. Large ported box it is then ... it'll wind up being a very large end table or a long ottoman. He also mentioned that 1200 watts (at the time I was thinking about an EP2500) would tickle it and be 'enough' ... but 2400 watts is where it would come alive. Dual 2ohm coil configuration. I'm actually quite excited to begin this.
  20. Score is right. Wow!
  21. James, thanks for the links and advice - I'll probably just go right to the (2)x 2 GB sticks. 2.5 GB of RAM seems like a lot. But, I know little about computers.
  22. Just took my first venture over to the eD site. Don't know why. Boy has that 'company' grown.
  23. That looks great - I really like that TV!
  24. Foghat - Slow Ride / The Who - Pinball Wizard // Pearl Jam - Jeremy /// Whitesnake - Here I Go Again //// Jim Croce - You Don't Mess Around With Jim
