Exaust Makes A Wold Of Difference
thanks, its exactly what i was looking for, low rumble on idle and more throaty up higher. but as long as it wasnt monotone like all the DOHC V6's in cars i would have been happy. PICS! What it replaced. 1 3/4" tubing, crunch bends, crappy muffler.

Exaust Makes A Wold Of Difference
OK so it isnt a NASCAR truck but it feels brand new, has a better pep in its step, runs a lil smoother, takes off a lil easier, feels like its trying to pull in 3rd gear . Sure it isnt by the seat of your pants faster...but i can feel the extra power. and is sounds hella good too Before (it starts out 5ft away form the tail pipe and moves to the interior) http://media.putfile.com/VOICE00121 and after (starts with the engine running and cuts, starts up agian and moves to the interior) http://media.putfile.com/VOICE00256 Even if i had paid the $240 it was well worth the money, i got it installed in less than 2hrs and the biggest PITA was getting the stock exaust off of the hangers with out removeing the hangers (not removing the hangers made putting the new exaust on a breeze). as far as i can tell there are no leaks but i think the bigger pipe made the rubber flange seal singe a little. Just like Gibson said the majority of the power increases are felt between 2000 and 4000 RPM. So far thats all ive gotten for Xmas... we are opening the rest of the presents when my brother and sister in law get here. then all the others tomarrow when all the rest of the family and my GF are here.

Planning On Small Time, but serious, Compeating.
Come summer/next fall id like to hit a few competitions and then head to daytona even next spring break. Because ill be finished with online classes and im officially done with soccer. the onlything preoccupieing my time will be work and cross country. As for ocmpeating, im doing competition on a budget. Id like to run my BX1205D it even less for power and run maybe a pair of 12's. Im thinking a pair of 187 12's in a 4th order bandpass. Ive always wanted to build "The Wicked One" to see how it performed. The 187's seem like a good canidate. Reletively high efficency, good Xmax, and reletively low inductance. For Competition i would build one with a wider throat for higher tuning. There are claims of 141dB@36Hz with 2 cheap 10's on TL in a car. With Better speakers, more power, and higher tuning i dont see a problem with doing mid-high 140's on TL...and as long as i stay out of Kickin's Class i should be good for small comps. If i dont get the numbers i want i may move to a well designed 6th order bandpass. What is your all's take on this? id geuss id be compeating AS2.

if your worried about your tweeters not reaching 1-1.5kHz get a pair of horns. You can find a good set of horns for less than $180 that'll go as low as 800Hz...and horns are way more natural than tweeters. thought ive never heard a car set up with horns they pwn in HT. and id imagine it would be the same for car. there was a guy on AF.com that had a pair and loved them, put one right under the dash on each side. Can ribbon tweets go that low? i cant imagine many 0.75 and 1" dome tweeters, metal or textile, going as low as 1kHz cleanly. Or sell them and wait for Chad to bring out asendants 6.5s? REAL PHASE PLUGS PWN MY RE's... sorry about my post, im not 100% straight right now...an exam and schools out for 3 weeks- Fog Lights
i love the fog lights in my truck. when i got the truck they came with stock bulbs (the amber ones) so i went and got a cheap pair og General Electric Xenon bulbs...it made huge difference. When we do get for hereits never very thick, but even when driving on a real dark night they add the extra bit of light when your low beams are on (passing cars, since they are stock it is wired into the harness to turn them off when the high beams are on...since you dont drive in the fog with your high beams on anyway). DONT get them at walmart. w/e you do. We got a cheapo pair for my moms truck at walmart...they worked (if you call it that) for a week and then continued to blow the fuse after more than 2min of operation. their light pattern was horible no mater how you aimed them and the color was realyl weird, mostly becasue they had cheap yellow bulbs being filtered by what looked like a polarized lense. We then picked up a cheap $20 pair from the Harbo Freight store in Orlando...had similar results as the above. A friend of mine picked up a pair from one of the local performance shops for like $60. Blue lenses and white bulbs not only looked good but i like his light pattern more than my trucks stock light pattern (i cant aim mine because they are fixed in the bumper. Ive also known people to get cheap fog lights and have condensation build up inside the lense during the summer or if they drove through a deep puddle. Rocks shouldnt smas ha good pair as the lenses should be made of a good, strong plastic.- My truck/system
144 aint bad. TL i assume. Louder than me...how low is another issue the 27Hz tuning is killing me But Anyway, nice install.- my first sub box soo far..
Pics of Dog & Sub togather are required RIP Peppermint. For a 1st box 'taint half bad.- Got a 15" Atlas today :)
i deff wouldnt pay 180 for an atlas 15 right now with RE's group buy going on an SE15's going for 167... just a heads up.- Got a 15" Atlas today :)
you traded a $250 driver for a $105 driver? weird... i wish i had the money to pick me up a pair of SE 15's to play with- help finding a tool..
You can use a sledge hammer and sharpened rock and do better than flakko- Project 48
Awaiting a check for $450 and then putting a call into RE. 4 RE 8's 1.8 @ 34Hz dual 3.25" Ports under the seat of an '03 GMC 1500 Ext Cab. going to be powered by Pheonix Gold Octane R 8.0 Hoping for 140 on the AC. Which shouldnt be much of a problem.- Idaho > iMac

you all are in luck...my friend and i went through 10lbs of potatoes and we got it ALL on video...i calculated the exiting velocity to be over 150mph... it put a potato through a cardboard box like it wasnt even there. we even showed our hatred for Apple...more on that when i download and edit and get the vid up and running... i have a feeling it is going all over the net.- Im Nervous as Hell
My first of possibly one maybe two shots to go to state HS XC goes down tomarrow at 10:15am at ridgview HS. 5kilometers of pure bodily carnage... Im Nervous as hell. and retarded HS girl troubles arent helping... but w/e Anyone else here run? 5k? Track?- My New Toy & you like where these pics are going?
wait who was it that said "this comming from a 15 year old" when i commented about a beer? lol, i dont drink often, once-twice a month if that...- My New Toy & you like where these pics are going?
just built and test fired this beast today, built to perfect proportions with a 2" barle, soon i will add a versa barle system (so 1.5 can be used to shoot hard boiled eggs and 2.5 can be used to shoot tennis balls). twas an extra credit project for physics, not that i need it, straight A's wigga what? so far we have covered force, momentum, and mtion and 2 directions, all of which can be applied to the furthest potato shot. they have 2 sparks, was smart and wired them in series...2 sparks = more effient burn = bigger boom = further launch i test fired this maybe 1hr ago in the dark... stuffed a wad or loosely packed paper about halft way down the barle and helt it at maybe a 10 degree angle a foot off the ground, yelled fire in the hole, and BOOM!....talk about an infrasonic shock...wow. also a pretty blue and orange flame coming about 3" out of the barle...so maybe it wasnt perfect proportions but dang close (if it was perfect the flame head would have ended right at the end of hte barle) shot the paper 30feet wit h hair spray...soon a propane regualtor will be attached along with a 1lb bottle of propane oh and having girl problems? work problems? Bacarding, and shot glasses...it gets the job done!- How much should i charge?
i charge $20-25/hr + material cost (i dont ask for the ammount used i ask for w/e the box of screws cost reguardless if there are some left over) if you arent a friend and 15/hr if you are a friend $10 if you help me out and the help was worth while...lol. free if you are doing something crazy like a friend wants me to do 8 RE 8's for him... only problem he wants htem under his rear seat in a 4dr 1500... wowzers. thing is having me do stuff is a LOT cheaper than taking it to the local audio shop, their flat rate is $75/hr no matter what they do... getting a CD player installed cost $150-$250 just for instalation....plus little jobs like wiring peoples doors for speakers and all make me money on the side for gas- THE Perfect Power to Weight Ratio??!
same deisgn like i said, if they are taken car of from the begining properly they last just as long as your average piston engine.- the most awesome ride
IB SQ is great, very flat responce...however you will loose as much as 10dB (your ported now right?) and 6dB average and thats assumeing you can apply the same power to the drivers.- tinted
