dells are good if u dont plan to upgrade and are on a budget. however, on the bigger models the fan is loud, cant be taken to class IMO. (honestly, theres no point to taking a laptop to class other than games) in december i bought my dell for $1k 3.2 p4 w/ ht 512 ddr 40gig hd cdrw/dvd wifi 15.2" sxga screen (1400x1050) blah blah blah downside: its like 9lbs, fan's too loud, battery life is about 3 hours with normal usage (i bought 2 batteries anyways) and u can get a dvdr drive on a laptop if u wanted. some sites let u put whatever you want in your laptop and they build it for you. newegg.com is one of the more popular sites to buy this stuff.

i would just think that music with a bigger variety of frequencies than mainly subbass would be more important to test with an SQ/SQL system. call me crazy.
