  1. Absolutely, we all started out that way. if only we were all as smart as him and ask before buying ... instead of buying all kinds of shit and ask questions later !!
  2. my cnc will mainly cut wood and plexi, and ill be able to engrave metal, but not really cut it, i dont have a cooling system built in for cutting metal yet really cool that you own a cnc table for cutting wood .....if only I had the space (and than still I couldn't plot the damn thing to do that I wanted it to do ) I'm not agueing the that its better to have the mid and tweeter close together ... but if than not low in a door and I can't help it eighter that there are so many ill designed coaxial drivers on the market ...
  3. completely incorrect. mounting a tweeter close the mid has both its advantages and disadvantages. the same can be said for mounting the tweeter away from the mid. if you would like to discuss this topic post another thread. enlighten me ...did you even read the word "coaxial" ? I fully agree that its better to put tweeter and mid as close together as possible , but not low in a door ........... that just doesnt make sense to me
  4. Its not just what you build , but rather HOW you build it ... so lets see some skills ! and regarding those component mounts , please don't encourage people to install those incorrectly , tweeters and mids installed that close together low in a door makes NO sense , you could've just bought coaxial drivers ... tweeters should be high up ... so pods for dash or a-pillar .. strong and ajustustable
  5. liking the setup and boxdesign !
  6. tuned in for specs !
  7. make an enclosure thats equal en height and depth and test what works for you .
  8. As far as I can see this is a split-gap design so this is nothing really new .... who would have thought : a buckingmagnet between the gaps ... really innovative
  9. Happy Birthday !
  10. now THAT'S some woofer porn !
  11. Time for custom seats Or buy a truck that has space to house a decent enclosure LOL
  12. ....oh well, there always will be a weakest point lovin it , I'd love to have a car thats tearing stuff up .
  13. A shame I'm not from the US ... what would a recone to 18 inch cost ?
  14. I think I'm missing something here ... Oh well , I think I'll just buy new ... all I could find were scan-speak out of production discovery and classic line tweeters , some low level cantons and a pair of seas h177 and those I cant find any product info or details on
  15. sweet project , wilwood brakes ! and it looks like there will be a fair amount of audio in there or isnt that weldingcable in the third picture ?
  16. I'm in a small country though ... legally its still a bit tricky to purchase abroad inside of europe , if anything went wrong a claim would be difficult ,germans and scandinavians I'd not have that much trouble with ,for the large part of other europeans : I trust them as far as I can throw them . plus its really expensive sending packages abroad . I did find some very cool, really exotic and very rare stuff , just not tweeters, maybe my timing is just wrong .
  17. did you order a couple of windshields ... you're going to need them ! great stuff !
  18. welcome !
  19. I could buy a new pair of Peerless HDS104DT-26 that were tested so well by Zaph-audio , but the Vifa XT25BG60/04 and the HD275-D2 would seem to be very good choices also from what I can see in a quick glance
  20. looked around a bit , Ebay , forums .... only interesting thing I could find is a set op B&G neo3 pdr's that i secretly have wanted to try for some time now but at the price they were advertised I'd rather buy a new pair.. just not sure if they will work in a car
  21. As long as you come announced you're always welcome ! that leaves me whith a dead tweeter to be replaced ...and no immidiate clue on what to replace it with ...
  22. thats still 240 kilometers from me , you in the militaty ? Geilenkirchen Awacs base is 5 kilometers from me and the Brunssum AFNORTH headquartes is too
  23. thanx for following my topic Sean and bearing with me , I appriciate the fact that that installation is everything and have whitenessed it dozens of times .......Its just that I need more work on my doors and wanted to find a shortcut , so that I didn't need to get all the resonances out of my doors... there is quite some work in them but I'm not sattisfied untill far less EQing is needed as is ... oh well I'll keep on building ...
  24. maybe the right one was not 100% on axis ..still should"t have mattered much it was less than 15degrees of ...I still feel those fullranges were better in the mid than the highs , thats why I picked them in the first place ... now dont get me wrong those drivers sounded good ...several people copied my frontsetup I had back then , I just want more still could use some recomendatitions for low crossable drivers that fullfill the specs I outlined
