i personally say get the bl, it sounds good, but im biased never heard the q but if you have little space get the q in a sealed box. if you have enough space for a nice ported box get the bl.
  3. yeah i gotta get me an alt before i pick up one of these, want one reallll bad.
  4. yeah what he said
  5. d is the newest version. so i would assume b and c are older versions...
  6. hahah well i think it will stay worthless, i just go on here while im at work, and have no access to pics.
  7. i bought (2) 5/16 2 inch long brass bolts, there more conductive than steel, but im sure steel will still work. it was 10 dollars, just for a nice piece of mind. worth it!
  8. yeah definitely make sure to not choke those subs! get the q's
  9. ok box came out great, only used about 20 screws, (it was cold) came out great no leaks, and strong as hell. proper bracing was installed, and went smoooooth. and let me tell you.... its loud!
  10. sorry never really dealt with door speakers, but how do you run them active/what is it?
  11. Anyone else? i want a few to compare prices/output thanks!
  12. if it helps any they have to keep up with a 15" bl on a SAZ-1500d
  13. OK i have never really bought decent speakers other than subs in my cars, and now its time. i would like to get a sax-100.4 from sundown to run some speakers. this will be going in an 06 scion xB. so my options are 4" dash, 6.5" components in front doors, and 5 1/4" coax in the rear. what are some good quality speakers that wont break the bank but sound great with 100 watts. i was thinking alpine type r's but i dont know. Should i ditch the dash speakers? and upgrade the others? thanks
  14. Well i got it in, and my lights dim like crazy at high volumes... looks like its time for a new alt! yay

box could be as cheap as 35$ if you build it yourself. I'm sure someone here could get you plans if you give them dimensions. but to have it built your looking up towards 200. wiring is tough to say its different for every car, but maybe around 125 you can get a good deal on some 1/0 wire on eBay. from what i've heard wire is wire. Big 3 is just extra power wire and connectors i would use 1/0 gauge on it all under 50$
  21. it would be a bad idea if i tried to run another battery with the stock alt tho right? i drive this thing all over the place i don't want to get stranded without an alternator.
  22. Yeah, one reason, if you get sideswiped and that wire gets pinched and there is no fuse to pop then you might be buying a whole new car after the fire.
  23. i always set mine to even numbers or multiples of 5 NEVER 13!!!! weird right? least im not the only one doing this ahhaha diggin up old thread whoooooops
  24. Glad i can be apart of it! smart dudes here.
