  1. Customs always trying to get the magical db dust.
  2. How do you know it's et at 29hertz? Because 99% of the time if you just guess on the knobs you can be very far off. A crossover calibrator would be a easy way to check and set the crossovers.

Where is the kickbass and double drums? I only hear solid notes, following each other slowly. It's not that i don't believe the DDZ can't play music, because it's a sub, offcourse it can play music.(every subwoofer can, it's just a matter of how long and how it sounds..)
  4. If you're scared about burning it up, then why not just give it 500W RMS?
  5. Yes, that would be about the same as 1 4inch port. Be sure to recalculate the lenght, because 1 port needs a different length then 2 ports combined, and off course the port area has changed so lenght will be different.
  6. If you only want to sacrifice 2.5 cu ft, you should better look at a 12 inch driver. Do you care about loudness more then it sounding flat across a big frequency range? There are no 15's that work properly in 2.5cu ft enclosures.
  7. Just don't forget to set the subsonic and the gain correctly.
  8. Tooshort? The rapper or the a member of a certain forum? Why not choose for DC if it's the same motor? Good luck with your build. I got a bit confused when i saw a truck and the title was hatch build.
  9. No it wouldn't be enough for most 12's in car audio. 1 4inch port is the minimum i would recommend.
  10. EDIT double post, ssa still needs to work out a few bugs.
  11. Is the belt wrapped enough around the pulley?
  12. Yes, they did that, but that's with the gain at max, so a lot of distortion, not what you want. After someone tuned the AP amp to only 1% distortion it put out less then 1000W, i can't remember well enough, but i'm even sure that it was below 800W too. Distortion on what order and how was it measured? With the smd "distortion detector?" Tube amps are said to sound "warm" and inviting. That is because they produce an order of distortion that many find pleasing. Not all orders of distortion are harsh, and some are preferred. Without know what and how the detector is detecting, it's useless. Then again it's useless anyways since if you can hear the distortion, you know you've gone too far. Yes with the distortion detector. The detector detects harmonics that aren't supposed to be there, when playing the 50hz tone. I can't explain as well as Tony the designer/inventor of the Distortion Detector. So you believe a 150 dollar amp puts out 1500w without audible distortion? (we're getting a bit offtopic here.)

  14. Maybe you should read this? Link REad the advantages and disadvantages
  15. This one out of all the ones listed. It's not 1500W, but you can't hear the 50% power difference. It almost does rated at a ridicoulous amount of distortion. If it's set with a DD-1(detects distortion at 1%) it doesn't do rated power at all.
  16. I wouldn't recommend soundstream or audiopipe to anyone, but that's just my opinion.

What do you mean, a price list? It's all on the website... Did you put in a subjecthead (sp?) in the e-mail?
  18. Stetsom amps don't like high voltage, they are fine with low voltage. There is a guy who the 7k i think at a show for 7-8 hours dropping to 11v and nothing happened. Before he upgraded the electrical he even got voltage dropping to 9volts and it's still ok. Soundigital on the other hand...
  19. The owner of AT is unscrupulous and untrustworthy. Enough of a reason for me to never use nor recommend the product. And a rep from SS or someone who is associated with Second Skin said that there are a lot better options then audio technix.
  20. Just because it's made outside the USA, means nothing. Same thing when saying it's built in the USA, that doesn't mean that the product is good. But in these cases, if you look at quality, both are good quality. They won't break down easily.
  21. Someone already sad that it's your fault, because the tinsel leads are brownish and they don't snap by themselves.
  22. JBL GTO502 or 504 is a good option too.
