  1. "lol" actually the funny thing is maybe you should go ahead and read the entire thread before you go ahead and say stuff like that. Just so you dont have to do any of the scrolling up i quote what i said for you. "I just need some cheap speakers from either like walmart, target, sears, etc.... just to get me by for a few months until i get a good set of components for a custom install."
  2. I actually went to walmart an hour ago just to get some speakers to get by for a while. they didnt have the kenwoods I was planning on getting so instead I went for some Pioneer 2 ways. price tag said 39.99 but when I went to self checkout it rang up for 20.00$. So whatever if there good there good if there bad there bad, 20$ for some nice brand speakers you cant go wrong with.
  3. And my last question is if you were to decide would you go with pioneer 2 ways or kenwood 3 ways for about the same price and close to same specs?
  4. yea, thats what I was thinking, I have kenwoods in my rear deck but my fronts believe it or not are 15 years old!!, you can barely hear them and plus one is blown...so im thinking about just going with those unless people have better opinions on any others.
  5. I just need some cheap speakers from either like walmart, target, sears, etc.... just to get me by for a few months until i get a good set of components for a custom install, and hey i might just like the cheapies. any opinons would do, i would like to buy them tomorrow since the lady i got my car from (my aunt) has never replaced the speakers.
  6. yea, i guess i see your point there really is not point to a 4 way but what about the kenwoods...3 way is generally the best sounding speaker.
  7. i dont care for bass from my speakers since there only powered from my HU anyways...I guess take that into account.
  8. I want a pair of low budget speakers and believe it or not walmart actually has some decent ones. tell me which ones you would get or if you would even get them. or any other opinion on them. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=10569320 http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?...uct_id=10765456
  9. Can you post pictures when you're done with the box? I would like to see how it turned out. The Car The light color you see is the wood, i covered up all the screws that were occupied from my amp and cap. It was dark out and im using my phone for pics but basically this shows my amp and cap attached to the back of my enclosure which is facing inside my car sitting at idle with the bass going....not bad
  10. There is no point of getting two tens with a 1200 rms amp. thats enough power for one if you want two you would have to get the aq2200
  11. I'm thinking it's the electrical system. The battery is new and the big three is done but the alt is probably only 105a. I disconnected the 4ch and only had the subs runnin' and they're almost non existent the lows aren't there and when it hits it just rattles. I know I probably need a 200a alt but should it be that bad without it? there is no reason why you would need a new alt on 1200 watts. I have a like 1-2 year old battery, an alternator thats been in the car since 95' I believe its only a 95 amp, and the big three done and i dont drop below 14 volts, no dimming at all. this happened to me when i had a pioneer premier rated at 1000rms. I had the setup running pretty good for a while until i took the sub out of the enclosure to fix something with it and I eneded up replacing the speaker wire, I most have wired it wrong and ended up burning a coil, causing extreme dimming.

  13. where do you get the mini voltage display led things from??
  14. The pioneer HU, the FI sub, and the US amps amp, sounds familiar ; )... nice setup but I wouldn't be cranking that music too much since you just got the sub.
  15. sterling heights, MI. and I went ahead and went with "plastic wood" wood putty and duplicolor spray on bedliner. Thanks for all the feedback
  16. does it have a nice raised texture to it or is it not too noticeable.^^^^^^^^
  17. The size would be fine but why not stay in the recommended hz range and go with like 30-32hz.
  18. Ive gotten my box completed and my sub installed in my car for about a week now, its going to be a nice weekend out here in Michigan and would like to finish my box. What do I use to cover up all my seams/screws so I can paint over it. Also I want to have a nice black or charcoal look to the box but have it be textured like steve meades, any ideas what to use for it.

I would definately do it..i gained a little over half a volt. I have a 15" SSD at 1000rms and i never drop below 14 volts because of it.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-kQNOLfC18 people claim in the comments of the video that it was banned from spl competitions and that it is the "loud as hell cd." anyone know anything of this.
  21. why would the bass boost matter, whats the difference between the one on the amp and the one on the HU, i just use the one on the amp because i dont want any bass being fed to my 6.5" speakers.
  22. I think since you have a newer car u should be fine. upgrade the big 3 and thats all. I have a 15" SSD on 1k power and i have 0 gauge for big three and 4 gauge for all power. note that i have a 14 year old car with the stock alternator still in it and a normal about 1 year old battery i never drop below 14volts. i know you have about another 500 rms into your system but if its the same case for me i dont think you have to go that crazy into buying a new alt and trunk battery.
  23. Ok, first off to get started i have a 15" Fi SSD flatwind option, US Amps XT2000D (1000rms x 1ohm), and a pioneer headunit thats 2.2volts. i have my bass on my headunit all the way lowest it can go, and the bass boost on my amp (hookd up to remote) all the way up, then i have my subwoofer level on my HU +2 (-4 thru +4). right now my gain is about halway on my amp, is that an appropriate spot to put it or can i put it higher. i just got my sub 2 days ago so should i keep my gain low for a few weeks or so to break it in then put my gain to about 3/4.
  24. broken link ^^^^
