There was nothing wrong with the sub before it was shipped. Most likey, if you were to buy it, itd be at your house in one piece looking perfect. I guess im just not that lucky. So ik i need a new basket (obviously) but do i need a recone too?

How can i tell if anything else is messed up? like the internals and what not And i havent ever welded cast aluminum, lol. I take it its pretty difficult aye?

You could ship it back to Fi and see if they can swap in a new basket. I didnt buy it from Fi but thats what i was thinking. Im hopin Nick will reply to at least one of the topics i made with a price on a new basket and the shipping cost. I already E-mailed him. Im jus gonna try the weld first and see what happens. I cant think of any reason why i shudnt be able to weld it.

Well i already went up to the post office and bitched. He said he "sincerely apologizes" and is "very sorry for my inconvenience" (my ass) They want me to send in a claim and it could take 2-4 weeks to here from them. We all know how that mail-in claim shit works...

Ughhhhhh I guess ill have to try and weld it.

So, PHI and Shizzon, what do you think I should do? Weld it? Or should i be able to just throw it in the box and be fine?

The recone is brand new on this sub already but im thinking that if i weld the basket a little and screw it down good then i should be fine. The only problem im seeing is that the top ring of the basket doesnt fit perfect with the part where its cracked. Its bent up a little so im not sure if this is gonna effect anything....

I shudda busted the post office guys face with the magnet when i was there... They were so inconsiderate about it too, that just made everything worse.

It was insured but im not sure how much he insured it for... Im thinking that if i just put it in the boxx it'll be ohk. the crack only covers two of the screw holes so that leaves me with 6 and only 2-3 of the 12 spokes are detached so i might be good but idkkkkk

Also, how would i go about testing this to see if the internals are ohk too? Would it be fine to just screw in or is it too bad...i think its too bad but whatever.

Looking at the mess it seems that around 3 of the spokes wouldnt even be attached to the box so if I was to just screw it in im not sure if it would be able to withstand the beating it would give itself.

Im also wondering about the internals if they're all still good. What would be the best way to find out if the baskets the only problem, not any of the stuff inside? Should i just hook it up free air to a buddys car and see if it works?
