  1. The only way to tell if it is damaged is to take it out and play it on another amp, house stereo or reciever or play it in low pass and see if does it. I know when I hooked up my Eminence Alpha midrange speakers on low pass like everybody told me to, with a crosssover range of 500hz-4000Hz I noticed that after a while they started scratching too. So I noticed that they sounded better on the Low Pass Filter but since they are dedicated midrange speakers they needed to be on High Pass Filter, which gives them less depth in the frequencies it plays but a louder vocal and instrument range without the scratching. So it could be amp(which I doubt it), settings, or speakers so just some small troubleshooting. I hate hooking up systems, for some reasons on first try around something isnt right but its 2 second fix. Oh yeah another question is the 360.2 bought used or new, was it hooked up when the scratching was occurring also? If so then un hook and go from there, it could be the 360.2 but lets hope not. Good luck with it and just be patient you will get it going.
  2. Thats probably what they could be, I would take them out of full range and manual dial them in on the SAX-50.4 until you can tune them properly with the 360.2 or just put them on low pass from now and see if the scratching noise is still there. Just my .02
  3. On components go out and listen to some to find which one's fit your sound and listening preferences. I doubt they would let you trade your subs, why do you want to upgrade? Please do not type in all caps, thankx.
  4. Looking good man, now you need to get you a voltmeter and install it somewhere in sight so you can keep an eye on your voltage.
  5. Thanks for the tool recommendations and after doing some research I will just make my own table or stands so yeah a table saw is out the picture.
  6. Why not go active if your looking for a midrange and tweeter combo? (just curious)
  7. Hey guys Im looking into buying some handtools for myself for the holiday season, just wondering what brands people run and or prefer. Looking into: circular saw, table saw, router, drill and probably a trim saw
  8. Seal it up so we can a video of this in action. Looks sharp and nice install, what is the wall tuned to? Have you played it yet curious to hear how you like the Z15's since I havent installed mine yet?
  9. You cant build a wall with your back seats intact. Just buy you a 15" BTL and put it in the biggest enclosure possible for it and get some nice amount of power and you will be fine and suprised.
  10. Yes because Im tired of these this vs. that threads. they should be banned or not allowed to be made.
  11. Well you need to find a powerful amp at 2 ohms since your subwoofer is Dual 1 ohms.

Since there is no underpowering of subs you want have a problem and its not like those amps dont put out rated power and more so you will be fine. For daily you will have no problem.
  13. But dont get me wrong, that amp will do what you want it to do until you get what you need or want so I wouldnt rush to get another amp.
  14. Thats is how I fell fellas but others feel different so it is a bias subject then, we will leave it at that. But I do appreciate all you guys comments on this issue. Anymore common sense rants out there (im still thinking but my mind goes blank when I actually try to think about something but when I get away from this computer I will come up with alot of them).
  15. Honestly it depends on what you like, everyone has a sound preference that differs from others. Your best bet is to go to different car audio shops and test them out and find that ones that suit your sound preferences.
  16. If it is a bass knob then dont use it or the bass boost function on the amp, just my .02. But if its a gain knob then it will control the gain at that setting on the amp. For example if you have the gain at 50% on the amp, then it will give you the mininum level of 50% all the way to the maximum level of 50%. So for instance if you had it turned up to max it wouldnt control the gain and raise it to 60 or 75% from the gain knob, the only way the actual gain percentage will change is if you went to the amp itself and messed with the gain setting.
  17. Actually your wrong but right, I'll give you that. If you go around believing peak wattage then your right (which nobody on this site or in the car audio world do but 's, peak wattage doesnt tell you shit besides this company sucks cause it is just a marketing gimmick for you and others to believe. Now to car audio individuals who only care about rms wattage then your wrong and those specs are off and inflated so no they are not the same. But if you want to continue believing the hype then go ahead and have fun with an overrated amp. Learn the industry and then try to talk smart, no need to get emotional with your last post (thats a females trait). I wouldnt even buy a Death Row and put that amp on it, that is just wrong (if you buy a real sub then go buy a real amp), if you want to hear the truth.
  18. I think what might of confused you is if you are underpowering your sub but you try to make your amp produce more power than it has; bringing on clipping and dirty signals which are sent to the subwoofer. But yeah there is no problem with underpowering your subwoofers.
  19. So you have the sub and port firing forward into the car, is your trunk sealed off from your cabin aswell? What are your settings on your amp and headunit? Did you end up getting the battery in there too? Is your alternator in too?
  20. MTX are usually good amps so you should have fun with it, as long as you feed it the voltage it needs and set the settings right it will treat you good.
  21. Naw the worse are the people (mostly females) who drive on the phone and are going slow or arent paying attention to the road since that phone call or text is the most important thing in there life at that moment.
  22. Which rca jack do you have the subs rca plugged into on the back of the headunit?
  23. Its cool because I have liked them from when I was little, I dont know what it is about these type of dogs. Now that is what I call a Boxer sleep over.
  24. Yeah those are my favorite dogs right there, Kujo B.B. looks like a killer if you push him. I think I may just have to find a good breed of Boxers cause I still want one myself.
  25. I would say either adjust the settings on your headunit but your speakers are going to distort from hu power once turned up to a certain volume. I would just get an amp for those speakers also if you want to keep them in there unless you can change the settings on your head unit.
