A picture tells a thousand words...
All the steering wheels are on the wrong side!! Excellent score. Very impressed, especially for a DD setup.

New PC
That's about how long I planned on waiting. I'll probably put $40 into a gig of ram for this machine so it can play FEAR without thrashing. That should last me well into 2007.

New PC
Sorry, forgot to mention. Project is cancelled after my HT reciever died out and I put $200 into an Audiosource Amp One to replace it. Then, frustrated at my LI's inability to play as clear as I wanted, I put even more of my new PC fund money into a D2 Magnum. I might pick this project up again once DX 10 cards are available and C2Ds drop in price a fair amount. Also, check out the new Radeon X1900GTs.

Large box for 15 D2
Your truck isn't an early 90s model Ford Taurus. If I could fit that kind of room in there, I'd go with half a Wicked One enclosure and really get my watt's worth of output. =)

Large box for 15 D2
I plan on getting a SI Mag D2 15 in the near future and I'm wondering what kind of box I can make to get the best of it. The limits of the trunk of my car are 16" high, 16" deep, and 36" long, or about a total of 4.2 cubes max internal volume. Would it make more sense to go for a large (~3 cubes) sealed enclosure (Decware Wedge style) or a amaller (~3 cubes after displacement and port) ported enclosure? Quality of sound is the most important factor, but I'd prefer lots and lots of that quality sound. The more headroom I can get, the happier I'll be. It will be powered by an Orion 1200D. It will replace two IA LI 12s sharing ~3.2 cubes at 32hz.

All eD bashing aside, what do you think?
If you're getting them for the fact that they can work as coaxials, get expensive coaxials and not cheap components. Otherwise a little more money could get RE REs or Rainbow Dreamlines.

Help
No applications running you say? You've got Internet Explorer up, and it's hellishly busy from the look of svchost.exe.

The last LAN party at my college, we blew 2 breakers because of that.

Camino 1.0.2 is out!
Well, it seems just about every browser (sans IE) has a solid, clean, and ingenius interface in some way or another. In fact, it could be the fact that Safari is on a Mac. I don't have much faith in Macs after seeing brand new ones fail over and over in my graphic design class in college.

Best Thread Ever ...
I saw one of his thread about if there's a "best" subwoofer brand and he brought up his Sony stuff there, as well. =p I left an an answer to his original question in part 3 of my post. It's not a great answer, but it's an answer regardless.

NP: Wormwood - Tristania "...The third angel blew his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, blazing like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and in the fountains of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became Wormwood, and many died of the water, because it was made bitter..." That quote is in most every lyrics site with the song on it, but you never hear in the song.

Camino 1.0.2 is out!
Safari was a lot like Firefox from what I could tell. Just, Mac like. I think Camino is to Safari what the Mozilla Suite is to Firefox. Either way, Mac users need a good browser. Honestly, I wish I could find ports of Konqueror. THAT'S a browser.

NP: Adelaide Symphony Sessions - Virgin Black After a 3 year long absense, the Classical / Industrial / Power Ballad / Death Metal / Symphonic / Black Metal / Christian band Virgin Black is responding to their fan's demand for more by simultaneously releasing 3 new albums at the new years 2007. Requiem – Pianissimo will be a completely classical release produced by the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Requiem – Mezzo Forte will be more like the Virgin Black known and loved by it's fans, and finally, Requiem – fortissimo unleashes a sound infinitely heavier than anything in Virgin Black’s history. The above MP3 is a clip of Requiem - Pianissimo.

Camino 1.0.2 is out!
I was never really impressed with it. It's a nice browser, but like most Mac applications it's just been dummied down too much for my tastes. Opera > All. =)

mythbusters do a 161 at 16hz!!
Out of the whole episode the best thing wasn't the score, but the quote. "This subwoofer plays 3 melodies: first gear, second gear, and third gear." I saw the HO Problems vehicle in there, too. Also, seeing as my father works for a road commission, I can say the "washboard road" myth was totally bunked by an improperly set up experiment. In reality those angle irons should have been at least 8" apart.

Video: Every review I've seen, Guru 3d, Tomshardware, etc, have all said they have a sweet spot for the 7900 GT. It's just an awesome card for $250. PSU: Any sugguestions in a similar price range? I'm very happy with my current ThermalTake, but man are they pricey. RAM: Read this. Speed wise, it make no difference with an Intel CPU, so are you saying this from a performance or longevity standpoint? CPU: I haven't bought an Intel processor since the Pentium MMX, but I can't ignore the rave reviews the new Core 2 Duos AKA C2Ds are making. Ditching the "Push for more MHZ" Netburst architecture seems to be the best move Intel ever made. Besides, they outperform any $250 AMD CPU on the market, and once you overclock them the 6400, well, you're suddenly comparing them to FX 60s. Maybe it is a mistake to go with Intel, but it's one I'll have to learn that on my own. M5: I was hoping I could get away with not posting the whole thing. Here goes: Motherboard: ASUS P5B Processor: Intel Dore Duo 6400 RAM: 2GB DDR2 400 PQI Turbo Ram Video Card: Evga Geforce 7900 GT KO Case: Lian Li PC-7B plus II PSU: Rosewill RD550-2DB-SL HDD: Seagate Barracuda 320 GB Perpendicular Recording SATA 3.0 GB / s hard drive (Add a generic $10 cooler to the HDD) The grand total for all this and a few extras like a DVD Burner is about $1200. A lot of money. A lot of money. It's the only thing keeping me from hitting the "buy" button. =\ Eldorado: Currently got a Shiva MK 4 and two IA LIs that I intermittedly exchange in my Taurus in braced 3/4 MDF enclosures. New PC
I don't really know where to start with this one, so I'll start with the PC it's replacing. My current PC is an AMD Athlon XP 2500, 512 MB RAM, Biostar M7NCD Pro, and a Leadtek Winfast GeForce 6200. At least that's all the parts worth mentioning. I can't even remember when I bought it. The one to replace it is currently saved on my Newegg Wish List. You can find it here: New PC 2006 The processor, which isn't listed, is an Intel Core 2 Duo 6400 which I'm buying off Tigerdirect. So anyway, do you think I should go ahead with it all? Downgrade something, beef up something, wait for something new, or totally skimp on everything and use the extra money for a Magnum 15?

Intel Centrino...?
And here I was thinking I was the only person who didn't like Dell. =p I'd go with Jmac's advice. Experience has taught me that laptops in general are a bad idea, much less a used one. Even worse a used Dell. Unlike what Effendi said, I've usually seen worse turnaround rates with laptops in this area. They just don't last long enough to outlive a desktop, but maybe that's because of the whole humidity thing (Michigan, peninsula) and really stupid laptop owners.
