Lanzar amp
If you don't want to buy a used amp, save some more money ! Those amps you have listed don't seem to be good enough.

Got a Dream Car of Mine: Mercedes Benz
Only $3000 ? It looks like a great deal. The trunk is big enough for a 15" or 2 12"s, with room for sub, amp and batts. Nice car.

Oh yes, I will keep it like that ! The only things I will change are the wires : I want to try to lace(hope you understand what I mean !) 2 pure cooper phone cable : I know it is worth it. In each cable you have several cooper wires all in their "plastic tube". I never saw nobody trying phone cables here, but my good friend changed all his speaker wires for phone cables : he found that the sound quality was much better. I know lots of audiophile people use them in their high end home audio installs, saying it's more efficient and gives you a smoother sound.

Must not be a bad thing ! It's so easy now to unhook the sub box. I can do it with my eyes closed ! Just plug and play !

From ported to sealed
What do you think about the way my box is connected to the wire coming from the amp ? I don't know how to name that, but it comes from pro audio systems, with smaller wire than usual in car audio. I don' think I'm loosing too much by using small wires; there is also more surface for contact between the wires and the "connection".

- Help choosing a sub
Get a good custom box for one of the 15" subs you already have. And sell the other sub. If you want to run a Fi sub, you'd better get a 12" BL D2 to have a final 1 ohm load on your amp (1000 w at 1 ohm). The Fi Q will give you plenty lows too, will be more accurate, but will give you a little less output than the BL. The ssd : I don't know, but it is less powerful than the 2 others. But how can you tell you did not had low bass because of the sealed box ? It must has been too small for both subs, that's why.- Help! The brits are trying to F_ck me!
They did not even get out of the first round. Same as FRANCE. Shame on us!- Amp For a 15" Fi BTL
On a 4runner, I think you can run a 1500 watts amp like a Sundown saz, easily ! The saz 2000 would be a nice match for this sub. Like we told you several times, get a voltmeter to watch your voltage when you're playing music! 1) Do the big3 in 0 ga first. 2)Then install your amp (1500 to 2000 watts rms, the pre sale on the sundown 2500 is a" hellova" deal !!!), and the volt meter. 3) Check your voltage with engine off(should be around 12.5 v). Then engine on at iddle (around 14 - 14.4 v). Then, when you're at "full" volume(with the right gain setting though). 5) If you see voltage under 13 v, you must do some upgrades somewhere in your electrical system : HO alt, batts,...? Come back here with all the voltage informations, and they will told you what you can do. Hope that helps.- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
Yeaaaah Maaaaan, Martinique in the French Caribbeans.Take a look : Martinique - Best Caribbean Islands, Caribbean Tourism, Best Caribbean Destination And yes, the box builder / owner of the car is a Rastafarian for at least 15 years !!!- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
I forgot to add that we need some SSA stickers (and goodies)!!! Sundown Audio is already visible on the car , on the windshield and on a side. The 4 saz will be installed in front of the box, standing on a piece of mdf, just behind the seats. So, they will be visible when you open the door, or fold down the seats. The JBL amps will be each on a side of the car, quite hidden though.- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
The whole system is not installed yet. He is still working on it. I will have pics as soon as I can. Don't worry !!! He need to order some ring connectors (0 and 4 ga), distribution blocks, fuses, and Damplifier for the roof. BTW : I would love you to see our local car audio friends when we tell them it's absolutely not a SPL sub, and that we are not looking for db numbers, but for Quality !!! They can really hear the quality of the sound system (from bass, to mids, to highs).- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
More stability for sure. We did not use any bracing in the boxes. We just bought the design like that, and we are very very happy with it. I trust ....JBLCam.... I don't know how we could have lift the box if it was a single one ! Soooo heavy ! For the videos, I don't know. Got to find a cam somewhere. I will try to make a video with my phone first. Oh, I know who can make a good video for you all, I will call him as soon as I can.- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
Box specs : 4 cu ft NET per sub. 30 Hz tuning, Double baffle, and Flush mount (3 pieces of wood : heavy as hell!!!) big 45's on ALL corners; double flared port. He still has a weak stock alternator, and a single Optima blue batt (4 years old !). He's trying to get a new and more powerful alt. He will buy 2 big XS batt this week locally. I listened to only one box with 2000 watts, and I could hardly stay in the car ! The box is really efficient. He had a 3.7 cu ft box tuned to 32 hz lately, but this new box is INCREDIBLE !!! A guy jumped out of the car when he heared the bass !!! This guy has a Pioneer spl 15" sub on a MTX 40001 amp(or so). He found the Xcon to hard for him, he is not used to so much bass on lower notes !!!!!! We made a test with the 2 boxes in the car, but the amp we used was an IMPACT car audio 2800 (the digital rebel) giving 2200 watts at 1 ohm. It was so disappointing : we had to put some bass boost because it wasn't good at all. We had more bass with one sub on 2 Sundown saz 1000 than with the 2 subs on the Impact amp !! Now my friend took everything off : he does not want to run any amp besides SUNDOWN : he loves this amp now, way more than he liked the Impact Digital Rebel ! I will take more pictures when everything is installed : maybe next week.- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
Here is a pic of the 2 boxes side by side, before carpeting and ...- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms

Now look at the first box : Only one finished box in the car: He will have the same second one in it too !!! He will have to take the JBL amp on another side of the trunk !!!- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
Sorry for the poor quality of the pics. They come from my Blackberry camera phone ! Here is a close look of the carbon fiber adhesive we used to have a nicer look !- 2 Xcons 15" on 4000 watts rms
Hello from Martinique , A friend of mine, a box builder for a shop here, is upgrading is sound system. He's going from 1 SSA xcon 15" on 2 Sundown saz 1000 d amps to 2 xcons on 4 saz 1000d. We bought the design from someone on this forum ! The box is made in 2 parts : one for each sub. Totally independant chambers and ports. 2 exactly same boxes. For the mids (2 8" Davis Acoustics speakers on each front door)he will use a JBL amp (px 300.4) and for the highs(several 5.5" speakers and tweeters, all Davis) he will use a new amp : the JBL 100.4. Doors and trunk are already deadened with SecondSkin Audio Damplifier and Damplifier Pro. Here are some pics of the box build.- Some Issues.
Never heared about him. I will take a look at his site. But the ones I told you about make fantastic enclosures. Building a box is something, but you need THE right design. If you're confident with him, go for it. With such a beast (the btl), do it right ! Get a used or cheap amp, you will have more money for the custom enclosure.- Connection Problems
I did not know that! Sorry. I learn something new everyday here! Thanks- Enclosure Build for Joe_Prince (Two 15 Inch SSA XCON)
Thanks for the quick answer ! This box will pound soooo hard ! I've just listened to an 8 cu ft box with 2 15" xcons (30hz tuning) : it's insane! Impossible to move your head while in the car : too much pressure, the earfacing the box culd be destroyed!! We only had 2200 watts on the subs, next week we will have 4 Sundown saz 1000 on the 2 subs! I will post pics tomorrow.- Enclosure Build for Joe_Prince (Two 15 Inch SSA XCON)
Nice box! I like the ports. Can you give us some specs on the box AND on the ports, please?- Connection Problems
Neg batt to neg post on the amp??!!! WTF ? I thought the neg batt should grounded to the frame of the car. And the - on the amp to the frame too for a good ground. Be careful. You seem to do it bad.- Some Issues.
Get a Sundown 1500 for your future btl, you won't need to much electrical updates: only the big3 with O ga power wire and grounds everywhere. Don't be cheap on the box : ask Argent audio, Khaotic enclosures, Audibel customs, fisher customs, or get a free design on the TECHNICAL section (look at the top of your screen). The remote gain on the amp will allow you to turn the bass down easily. If you're on a tight budget, get 2 sa 12" on the same saz 1500 or a cheaper amp(AQ, Mb Quart,Audiopipe,...) - Help choosing a sub
