  1. Good choice : sell the Crescendo to have some more money for a secong JL amp, and batteries and wire, accessories,...etc. I'm not a fan of Crescendo amps. There are very few of them where I live, but I've seen ...a few failures...And their customer service doesn't have a good reputation.

  4. Great work guys ! Impressive build. What will you use for mids & highs ? That's a BIG BUDGET build !
  5. Absolutely no noise with my mini dsp 2x4 so far. I use the DC isolator.
  6. Can you show us pics of the box in the car, please ? How did you mount the bass amp ? So you're happy with a single 10" in that Jeep ? (I know the Xcon is an amazing sub).
  7. I saw a friend running a Sundown NS-1 witout using all the inputs. It worked, but shut off after some time demoing ! I wouldn't do it, personnally.

  10. There is no JL hate here. We all know they make very good products. The W7 is a good sub. I understand it might be frustrating, because you wanted answers we can't give you ! Build your ported box, tune to 34 Hz, with the volume you want/can, and have fun ! It will be much louder than sealed. If you don't like it, build another box, and so on ! Good luck.
  11. Here is mine. I bought the wood ring at a local car audio shop. I don't have the tools to do it. I still need to work on the doors. I will buy everything from Sounddeadenershowdown or from secondskin.
  12. You have nice equipments so far. Personnally I would do the Big3 in 0 Ga, then add the 2nd battery if you have it already. Get a good voltmeter to watch your voltage, and play ! If you dig too deep (less than 12.5-12v) you will need something else : maybe a second battery, maybe an HO alternator. I don't know before you try. Good luck.

  15. Some amps have a "mirror setting option", like the Incriminator Audio ones : you have one amp per sub, but you set only the first one. All the settings go to the other amp with just the mirror link. I like that possibility. A friend of mine ran 2 pair of Sundown SAZ 1000's on 2 Xcons (later on 2 BTL) : They last for years before he sold them in mint conditions !
  16. Killer install Congrats
  17. Tuned in. I like where you're going with this build.
  18. I always wanted to try a set of those gti's. They're on the market for years. I wanted a set of those when I blew one of my mids. I could not find none, so I asked for advice here and I bought a pair of Seas. I'm happy with them, hopefully !
  19. I loved all the SSA subs I had : Icon, Xcon, and now Zcon ! This Gcon should sound good in a sealed box. Specs must be listed on the site. Run this amp in 2 channel mode on this sub if you want. Usually bridge mode is at 4 Ohms, but I don't know this amp.
  20. It works now. Pc ok. Phone ok I can log in too. Great.
  21. Big problems with Firefox on pc and Mac. Problems on Safari (mac) too. I can't access from my iPhone 6 now (and the new mobile site was very nice). everything was ok after the site upgrade though.
  22. I had a set of Focal 165KP, on a powerful amp (2 x 225 w rms @ 4 OHms). I loved it for (8) years. The I finally blew a mid : I think a lead went bad and I tried to fix it. Impossible. M5 told me about the SEAS Prestige and I bought them. I was afraid to run those because of the 8 Ohms impedance, instead of 4. I hooked them on the inputs of the Focal passive filters, and kept the tweeters on those filters. First listening session put a big smile on my face. It really was not a downgrade from the Focal. No tuning, no eq, nothing, and I loved it ! Then I bought a mini dsp to set my x-overs and adjust everything. I'm still playing with the dsp, but not so much (I need time). I must say those speakers sound VERY good. I hate those PA style speakers that screams, like Barry White sings like Celine Dion ! Those Seas are "warm", accurate. Not Cheap too ! They do get loud ! In that active way, the mids are on 2 channels of my amp, and the tweeters are on the last 2. This amp is rated at 4 x 65 w rms @ 4 Ohms. So I don't know how many watts at 8 Ohms ! Not much, but they're loud enough for me. I did not loose anything from the Focal to this set of Seas Prestige. (They're a little bigger than the KP, 6.5" to 7"). I am very very happy with this purchase. Good luck. BTW this forum is amazing, you'll get the best advices available.
