  1. I receive a coupon code from my official dealer, to download the plugin, but I can't have it. I sent a message to mini dsp. com. I'm hoping for an answer soon. When I register, it's ok. But it seems that I need to buy something else, Paypal doesn't like to send $ 0 to someone ! So, the order can't be filled totally. And I don't have access to the necessary plugin. My installer and I were ready to install and play this friday afternoon, but it was not necessary, without the 2x4 plugin. The link M5 sent me does not work. It's impossible to share that software like that. :-(

Pioneer sounded better at every level. I only switched back to the Sony because I missed t/a. Not sure if I should get a MiniDSP first, or a new unit first, both are on my shopping list. With the pioneer the btl got loud enough to tickle a bit, but with the Sony I could barely get half throw without max gain, and a ridiculous eq curve, +6 on sub out (max) Not entirely relevant to the rest of my post, but that's what led to me finding myself in this predicament I always thought it was a good thing to max the sub output : it would allow you to have full voltage from the deck, and then a lower gain setting on the amplifier. Those Brazilian amps smoking are scarry. They're small, powerfull, but how can they have so many problems ? how do they play with them in Brazil ? They have lots of success down there.
  3. Tuned in. That is going to be loud !!! What size are those subs ?
  4. 4 little subs ? Why not a single badass 12", or 2 ? With bucket seat, you should have enough space. It may be cheaper too. If you want output, ask for a design and for advices before you build or buy anything.
  5. Thanks for your answer. I read about the caps on the mini dsp website, and some friends of mine still use them (they are oldschool guys !). I'll try to set eveything as M5 said. I don't want to break anything. I'll try to find the Fs of those tweeters... Of course, I'll unbridge the amp first. If I feel I need more power, I'll look at new amp(s). I'd rather keep what I have. Money is tight ! Hoping to install and use that dsp soon.
  6. Is this one a good idea, or is it too weak for 6 or 8 Ohms tweeters ? http://www.woofersetc.com/c-3-amplifiers/c-28-two-channel/p-11793-st-2x-zapco-2-channel-170w-rms-class-ab-studio-x-series-full-range-amplifier.html Or this one : http://www.woofersetc.com/c-3-amplifiers/c-28-two-channel/p-11505-xah-1252-cadence-2-channel-500-watts-class-ab-stereo-amplifier-black.html
  7. Hello guys, I wish you all a really happy new year ! So, I bought a mini dsp for Xmas, and now I want to use it. I will study the pluggin seriously to find and set the X-over points and the different slopes. I'll take care of T/A too. I will play later with the eq available . I see they're talking about caps to protect the tweeters. How many micro Farads do I need ? How to choose what to buy ? My current amplifier is an Incriminator 3.4. I want to keep it bridged to the Seas mids. 2 x 225 w rms @ 4 Ohms, so my 8 Ohms speakers will have enough power. I need a small amplifier for the tweeters, something on the cheap. Do you have ideas ? What amp would you get ? I may run 6 or 8 Ohms tweeters in the future. I'm currently using the Focal tweeters I had on my 165 KP set. Thank you for your help.

  9. My new set of mids : SEAS Prestige 7" near the old Focal 165 KP : In the door : without deadening
  10. Amazing ride ! I love it ! Nice pictures too. Congratulations.

Beautiful pics : Monmartre, la Tour Eiffel, Le Louvre, les Champs Elysées, Notre Dame,...etc Well done, Sir ! Yesterday, there were terrorists attacks in Paris. More than 120 killed, total horror. It's not the time to come to Paris for tourism. We're all shocked.
  12. I added pictures to my build log : http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/topic/62903-my-first-suv-gets-a-sound-system/page-6#entry1118617 So far, I am very happy with those SEAS. The sound is clear, natural. I know I still have work to do : wiring : we just took the speaker wires form the output of the passive Focal filters, to the inputs ! I need to wire everything from the amplifier. We were in a hurry, it was late !deadenig the doors.find something to keep the wood ring off humidity and waterbuy and install the mini-dsplastly : decide if I want to keep those Focal tweeters, or not. They're not so bad, finally.I was afraid of loosing output because of the 8 Ohm impedance on my amplifier, but I don't think I lost something at all ! Once again, I want to thank the SSA forum, and M5 for all the advices.
  13. You already have big power and big subs, I guess so ! What's next ? I like the car with those rims : it looks classy !
  14. Badass build once again ! Congratulations.!
  15. We was in a hurry, the night was alreday there. So we had to finish, and wire everything with my phone light ! We'll have to come back on it very soon. The amp was already bridged to the passive filters. We just took the mids wires to the inputs of the Focal filters. And left the tweeters on the filters outputs. I was afraid of the results, but finally it plays ... I like the sound of those SEAS Prestige ER18. I tried to cross them at 80 Hz, it was niiiice. And then I tried 63 Hz. It was much better ! The sound is clear and "warm" enough for me. I'm not disappointed at all when I remember the Focal KP mids. Those Seas are 8 Ohms speakers, but I don't think I lost output with this same little amplifier : an Incriminator Audio 3.4 rated @ 4 x 65 w rms @ 4 Ohms. I need some cash to buy a mini-dsp. I hope I can do it next months. So far I'm very happy with the sound. The speakers are brand new, they may need time. Thanks M5. Thanks guys.
  16. In the door, with a new wood ring. It will be wet in a few months if I keep it like that ! I hope I'll find time to do something.
  17. I blew a Focal mids. With the help of this forum, I bought a set of SEAS Prestige 7" speakers. here are a few pics : Unboxing

6 days : that is not too much for Paris only ! I spent 12 days in July, and that wasn't enough. Usually women loves Paris : shopping is fantastic (not for your bank account), food ...marvellous, the city can be so romantic,... Come to Martinique when you want. It's another (overseas) part of France, near the USA : you'll love our island.
  19. Thank you for the expalnations. I have some exercise to do, I know ! Lot of work to understand what to do with the mini-dsp. Ihope my ears will like the results. The speakers arrived yesterday, and I got them this morning at my office. Fedex can be really fast ! Tomorrow afternoon : install time , and settings will start !

I bet all those meals were smelling good ! France is one of the best place to go for good food, and M5 was only in Paris. There are specialties in every other France regions. I was in Paris in July, and I must admit this city is wonderful. So much things to visit : I went to Versailles again, and it's wonderful. The Opéra Garnier is a marvellous. Take a trip there when you have a chance. Your wife/girlfriend will love you for that !!!!! Anyway, it seems like M5 had great times there. That is good sign (for me!!!).
  21. "I wouldn't use your amp crossover for the tweeters, but I would measure them to see what they are doing." : I was asking for the use of the Focal passive filter. "Focal Tweets in general are always in DIRE need of an active processor..." : I don't understand that part, sorry for my English. I need to get that dsp quick !
  22. The passive filters are near the amplifier. So it should be easy. All wires are already ran.
  23. Thank you M5. I'll try that. 50 Hz HP seems low ! I'll tell you how it performs and how I like it. Do you think it's better to keep the focal tweeters on the Focal passive filter ?
