  1. You listen to very good music. True reggae old school ! I love that You'd better run one sub ported. You will be so happy. Those reggae tunes does not have a lot of bass but NEED a lot to...blow your mind ! Ported would be a great choice. Believe me ! I'm a real Caribbean reggae fan.
  2. Nothing seems wrong in your install, except that you don't have an amp on your mids & highs speakers ! Good siize box, good tuning frequency, good settings, quality equipment. Amp is hot : ok, no problem, it's working. Let it play...After some times you'll notice it become louder and lower. As long as you're happy with the output, nothing to worry about.
  3. You can tell what kind of system you had in your car. How do people know if it will make you happy ? Need to know where you're coming from You're in good hands, as I can see.
  4. I totally agree ! those btl's are sooo loud on this Mmats amp ! But I don't understand why people want to use amps at 0.5 Ohm for daily. Get another amp to play at 2 Ohms, or link 2 smaller amps to achieve a 2 Ohms load. It will be cheaper : less electrical upgrades, les batts to buy, cleaner signal,... More power is not the best or easier way to get louder. I learnt that from my own experience. I gained 4 dbs by changing enclosure. Doubling power was not as effective. So, I took back my original amp, sold the big one, and I 'm wayyyy louder now !!! How are you, bro ?! I need to come back to SXM soon ! I'll let you know !
  5. Joyeux anniversaire ! HBD
  6. I'll let you know how I like the DD...if it is in a good enough shape for me
  7. My box builder would kill me if I sell the sub to someone else !!!! He wants a second N2 for so long : he's already looking for recone price ! He will come to my house later because he did not see the basket price ! I'm the one who speak English and got the Mastercard ! No trade sorry !
  8. I think the most space I can use is 3.5 ft3 net volume, maybe a little more if I can save some , with PVC round ports.
  9. How much net volume is needed for that sub ? Their website says 2.75-3 ft3 net. but I know it may be marketing. All the 15" I've seen need at least 3 ft3 minimum. and I know they will not perform too well in such small volume. I was pleased with an Xcon 15 in that space. Honnestly, I've heared some Xcon in bigger volume, and they were sounding much better : louder on all frequencies, and lower. But I do what I can ! I tried a 12", in 2 custom boxes, and I want more now.
  10. This time, I want to try DC Creation, for my box design ! Hope we'll find a way...
  11. Yeah I will definitely pick it up ! If I don't like it, I will sell it at a higher price !
  12. I know the Zcon is what I need ! But + $700 + taxes ...that is a lot of money, and a few weeks (or months) to receive it. The DD is local, and costs around $300. I know it is a very good sub for burps. It is for sure, less musical than a Zcon !
  13. recone + basket + shipping would not be cheaper than the price of this DD sub. There are no more N2 available and my good friend wants a second one for so long ! He will have to recone it himself to a 15" ! If I sell my btl, I will receive money for the DD AND enough to have a new box and some money left ! It's a really good dealBut I want it to sound good, to be loud enough when I compare to a btl, and to go low enough. I saw a lot of people saying the 9515 do not like to go low. That scares me a bit
  14. I did the maths : one 6" has more surface than two 4" ! But I don't know what's better for this sub. I'll take a look on a DD forum somewhere.
  15. It will be for music, but I need output ! For sure 2.75 seems too small for a 15", but they say it can work ! No way. 3 ft3 is still small for such a powerful 15" IMO. I will try the biggest box I can fit. If I must use aeroports to save some space, I will ! BTW what would be "good" for music ? One 6" round PVC port (flared) or two 4" ? Waiting on other opinions.
  16. Hi guys, I have a very good deal on aDigital Design sub. It's a 9515, very cheap I've never heared any, in a correct box. I don't know how it will sound in a 3 to 3.5 ft3 ported box. That is what I can fit in the "trunk" of my Toyota auris. the Auris is like a little bigger Corolla hatchback 4 doors, with a very small hatch. I still have my 12" BTL n2, but I have a buyer...he's in the starting blocks, waiting to take it from me !!! Originally I was debating between an SSA Zcon and an AA Mayhem, but the DD9515 came and it costs "only" $300 locally ! I think I can't pass on this deal. My amp is a sundown saz1500. I saw some saz 2500 at db-r, but the DD is rated for 1600 w rms. My question : do you think I can like how it will sound in a 3 to 3.5 ft3 portee box ? I love the sound of the BTL n2. The Xcon and Icons are amazing too, so maybe I would love the Zcon !
  17. I hope I will never blow aything in my system ! My bass amp is never really hot, and the sub neither (a BTL N2 on a 1500 w amp). A friend of mine is running a Sundown NS-1 (@ 2 Ohms) on a fi btl N2 : after a loud listening session, the sub and amp are not even hot !!! You can say, by touch, that they were playing, but you can never guess they were playing so loud and for so long. People are, first, impressed with the output and the sound quality, and then, when they touch the equipment, most do not understand how it can be so cold !!! I live in the Caribbeans : hot weather all year-long, and lots of rain too ! We both have no DD-1, no O'scope, only our ears. When it sound weird, turn it down or back the gain down, and that's it. Good luck.
  18. Wow ! I like the box/wall ! I need to see that on another computer , to see the vids.
  19. Are you sure you need an HO alt for your system ? If you want to cut the costs down, you can try to use 2 good batteries (AGM), one under the hood and eventually one in the rear. do the big 3 and check your voltage. It may be good enough. Just a thought because I don't know how isd the electrical system in this car. Good luck with the build, and keep posting pics ! We love that.
  20. Get a strong 15" and have fun
  21. I put a piece of black duct tape on mine because it's too bright, and I don't want any light in the cabin except from the dash and the h u If you lived closer I would have sent you the one I have from my sax 50.4 that I've never used !
  22. serious or sarcasm? This is classic scene from Dazed and Confused http://www.criterion.com/films/314-dazed-and-confused Sorry I don't live in the USA, and I don't know this movie Never saw it on french tv or movie theatre. (I'm a French man, in a French island) Thanks for the info !!!
  23. She looks like a teen ! But she's really nice ! No need for 50 year old woman, just not teen ! Who are those fag... Crakinhedz ? And why post this pic ? I don't get it ! (I can't see the video, I will take a look later. )
