He designed a box for me too. 2 Pioneer spl 12". Box tune to 34 Hz. Result within one week : one windshield broken !!!!! It was not the goal, only the result ! Great guy to deal with ! I'll come back again.

Can't find any link. He must have take them off of our local Facebook page on car audio. I'm looking for a direct contact with him. I knew he had a one month delay for the subs to come here. It's too long for me !

User error for sure ! Even if they won't agree. But when they "say" 10 400 watts rms, it is difficult to understand that a 4000 watts amp can blow it so easily !!! I hope they will both learn that as a lesson. But I can't blame them. They don't speak English to learn on US forums, and in France it's hard to find good info about subs and box building. Take a look at DC amps, they are cheap too. Cadence is a well known brand, for years. I would not hesitate to run one of their amps. if your system is temporary, OP, get the cheapest amp, and don't show it on your amp rack. The DD on sale is a good product.

I know there is a guy who sells Fi ans AA on e bay here. But I don't know if he is legit (is it the right word ?). I meet him once and he wanted to listen to my sub when he saw the Fi sticker on my car. But there was too much people, and he did not tell who he was, so I had to say no ! Someone told me the price of the Havoc 18" (about $1100 !!!!!!!!!) : I don't want to buy from him : my friend will have to sell his car to buy the btl !!! I'd rather order from you like I did for my 12" BTL. I know it's not easy to ship to a foreign country. :-( If we have to order from this guy, I think we will chose another brand. Sorry.

Hi Nick, I sent you an e mail recently about a friend wanting a BTL 15" (N2 D2 with a blue dustcap). Did you receive it ? He's in a hurry ! I told him it is worth the wait, but we have no news at all ! Take care of me, pleeeeaaaase !!!

Big marketing bs ! Kicker is mainstream too, and I have never seen or read about Solo X blowing so fast ! But I know they blow too !!! Alpine, MTX,JL are all mainstream, and I don't think they do it like SS. I will never trust any SS product now !

You must be right !!! If this sub was rated at 3000 watts rms, maybe he would understand, but they say it's 10 400 watts rms !!!! So running it with 4000 watts, my buddy can't understand it's too much power ! Why did SS act like that ? I don't want to own any SS product now !

I know 2 people with the quad coil model in 18" : both blew ! I think they bought this sub because of the 10 000 watts rms rating ! They are both very disappointed now ! Just to let you know the XXX price here : 1 200 €, about $ 1600 !!!!!!!!!!!

I can't tell you that. I'm not a specialist at all !! And those are not my subs. I only know 2 people with them, and both have blown their subs. It may be users errors, but it was never on 10 000 rms, but on 3000-4000 w rms, and in small boxes for 18" subs. I sold my SSA Icon 15" sub to a friend. He gives it a lot of power from a DD m something amp, and the sub has never smelled nothing and still runs fine like new ! Another one is running 2 xcons on 4 Sundown saz 1000 for one year with absolutely no problem, no smell, nothing wrong. I hope my btl will last long ! I'm sure thse SS XXX are not so well built. And they are not cheap : I can get 3 (to 4) Xcons for the price of 1 XXX !!!

Are those subs too weak ? Another guy here have blown his xxx 18" too ! I will try PSI if possible this time, for him. Thanks.

I think (not my sub) the previous VC was burnt to death !!! Clipping for sure ! He listen mostly to rap and reggae songs with a LOT of bass, too much bass ! If a song does not have a huge bass he won't listen to it. The gain is set by ear, I guess so.But he keeps telling me the gain knob is very low on his amp, and on the h u the bass level is set very very low. Hard to beleive. I am asking because I don't want him to say the recone kit was a POS !!! I think 10 000 watts rms would destroy this sub ! Another friend has just blow one last week ! for the same reson.

My friend keeps asking me about that ! So here are some dimensions I could get : VC : 4" diameter VC Height : 4.646 " double spider fixed part of the VC : 1.102" I don't know if those dimensions are good enough to have an answer, but they are what I have ! If you need more, tell me what to look for please. Can I have an estimate of the cost to compare with parts-express ? I want to know if it's worth waiting for a Fi recone, or just get a standard one. Hi all, A friend of mine has just blown its XXX 18" for the second time ! He doesn't know why ! The first time, he knew he had a very small box with a slot port, and he did not know the tuning of the box. He was playinf at full tilt with no ssf on ! Amp is a MTX te 4000. He has several batteries, and the big 3 done, now. I ordered a recone kit for him from PAP. They sent a kit for a 15" sub, and then the right one. (So I have free kit at home, looking for a sub !). After a few weeks, he was really satisfied, but on the 21st this month (it was music day in France) he told me he blown it again. This time the wire that runs on the spider has gone into smoke. The sub is a DVC2 playing at 1 Ohm. The ssf seems to be set right, and the box is now bigger (still too small IMO), tuned to 30 Hz according to him ! I don't know how he can say 30 hz, but ...whatever ! Do you have an idea about what happened ? What can he do to avoid blowing its sub ? Thanks

do the big3 and then add a battery in the rear. Should be fine. If you still have problems look for an H O alt. But I don't think you will need one for less than 2000 watts rms of power. Music is dynamic, and you won't always use all the 2000 watts. Only way to know is to install !

Thank you I had not thought of that. Do you or anyone on here know if that is a good buy for that particular amp? I'm concerned about the fixed SSF is this something that is cause for concern? If I tune more than 3hz above 30hz wouldn't I risk over excursion? Why would you want to "tune more than 3hz above 30hz" ?!! 33 Hz is very good for music listening. Gives you good output and good lows ! A lot of subs like tuning around 28-33 Hz, maybe most subs ?...
