Take a serious look at the Xcon. It's a fantastic driver. But the Fi btl N2 is not an all spl driver. My 12" btl plays really well. And I had an Xcon 15" on the same saz 1500.

I had my 15" xcon in a 3.1 ft3 (net) box with 2 4" aeroports, 17" long each I loved it, and still have the box.

Keep your amp and do the big3. Then you can work on a box design.

You could have bought that locally, no matter what brand you found. I like to buy some accessories locally. It's faster and keeps you in touch with "your community" ! If you follow the rules, you can have a lot of help from well informed people.

I like mine ! I did not need all the x-overs, as I run it bridged to my comp set, but it gives me enough power and work fine ! I'm glad I bought it, instead of a 100.2 or a 125.2.

I saw a guy with a VW Golf (rabbit) with the same results : box was tuned to 32 Hz(my old one) and the sub was a SSA Icon 15". He has his peak at around 50 Hz too ! All the cars were peaking at the same frequencies (quite) : 40 to 50 Hz.

Do you think you will be able to hear something different from your sub from playing at 1 Ohm or at 4 Ohms ? I am not so sure about it. I was afraid to play at 1 ohm, but from my saz 1000 to my saz 1500, I had absolutely no problems. I've just upgraded the grounds on the front battery and on the engine block later. I'm planning to get a 2500 watts amp as soon as I can for my system, and still at 1 Ohm !!!

OP, you can have great help from here, but you should be careful when you ask for informations !! All about Strategy ! read the forum rules and you'll understand. You have room an a powerful amp, get the 18" BTL N2 (DVC1 to run it at 2 Ohms for your amp), and a big custom box. And that's it !!! I hope your electrical is good enough for 2500 watts rms.

Find a used Xcon. And get a good ported box. That's it ! (It does not sound like a Fi btl at all. I've had both.) Take a look at the Fi bl with the big coils.

A 15" sub in an optimal box will sound better than the same sub in 18" in a too small of a box. With your budget, you can do 2 good 12" subs too.

What car? What music do you listen to ? How much room do you want to loose for the box ? Any electrical upgrades yet for that amp ? There are so much subs in the market for 2000 watts. SSA Xcon, Fi btl, ...

This trunk will suffer ! Make the subs fire through the cabin. Or get 12" subs. The box will need room to work. Don't forget room for amps and battery in the trunk. Post pics of this build ! We love pics

I like the 2 bl's idea. Going from 2 L7 (good and loud subs) to one btl may not be louder (what do I know ??!!!lol). Tell us more about the space you have for the box. Focus on the box first, then the sub(s). Find what box would be better for your car : size, port firing,...)

Those Focal are entry level ones. They sound good, they're nice but expensive for the results. Try to find the old models like the 165KP or K2P, they 're on sale in France. I don't know if it's the case in the USA. But I love my set of KP for 5 years !!! Not so harsh IMO. The JBL gti 608 are "cheap" now. Try to listen to them if you can. Good luck.

I had a 15" xcon in both, ported and sealed box. It gets loud and clean sealed, but you will see a good increase in output if you try a ported box. Tune it as SSA tells you ( 28 to 34 Hz) and you will love it. I loved mine with 2 4" aeroports. Save space for sure !

Use 2 subs or get a 4th one. What's the PB with 1.34 Ohm ?

A single 4" port for the 15" ? Looks small. Re build your box for the SA12"s.
