When I said "high" I meant way under 80 Hz (LPF @ 80Hz on the hu). Maybe the gain setting moved alone! I did not touch it. I will turn it down today. I'll let you know how it works. It's only when I play at 40 on 63 max volume on the hu. At 36 : no problem at all. Thanks.

Hi guys, I installed my 12" BTL N2 2 days ago. The box is ported to 32 Hz, 2.1 ft3. I run a Sundown saz 1500 at 1 ohm. Last night I took time to test this setup and I was surprised to hear a strange sound at the highest volume. I kept the exact same settings than with my previous setup (1 ssa xcon 15" on the same amp). On a certain note on a song from Mike Jones a weird sound is coming from the sub, and not in the port. On low bass notes there is no problem, but on a higher note the sub reacts badly : how can I describe it ? Like a sheet of paper moving ! It's scarry. I need to turn down the gain on the amplifier. I checked the inside of the box, nothing was loosed, all strong. I never hgeared this noise from any sub I had. I know there is a problem in the sub. I will tell you later today which song exactly. What can I do more to trouble check that ?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS : When I came to put the box in my car, the builder told me he was amazed by the "résonnance" of the sub / box. He told me that when he pushes the cone the sound is so impressive : he never saw that with any sub he has built box for. He runs 2 SSA Xcons 15" on 4000 w rms ! He was sure that this combo would go doooown !!! We hook it to my Sundown saz 1500 and WOW !!! This thing is sooo loud, and goes soooo low. Incredible !!! I need to listen to it a little more to really give you my opinion. My car is shaking like crazy; and I found new rattles. I never felt my doors moving like that. On heavy bass notes, a lot of air is coming from the inside doors and escape through the window opening ! amazing !!! Now I have 2 xcons to sell because my box builder wants 2 BTL's 15" now !!! 5 minutes before he told me that; someone called me to buy 2 SSA subs !!! We will talk about it tonight on "our" friday night parking lot meeting if the rain don't bother us too much.

Carpeted and finished ! I like the grey carpet finally, it matches my car ! Port is has been painted in blue to match the sticker of the sub !!! and it's nice. Even the little piece of wood we add to reinforce the port has been painted in blue.

That box is complex ! Do you like how it sounds ?

Need a little piece of wood to brace in the port, bolt terminals to install and a dark grey carpet I found for cheap ! I don't really believe this local guy. He must be sad that I ordered a BTL direct from Fi and not from him ! We are members of a local facebook page about car audio, and I think he doesn't want other members to bypass him on ordering Fi or AA !!! I'm in total trust on your products. You know how long I've been waiting just to be able to order my sub !!! I will try to find the link for his ebay site, and I will send it to you by mail, so you can see by yourself !

I don't know how to name this material I use, but it's "waterproof", a little lighter than mdf. We are used to it down in Martinique, because we can't always find mdf. Our cars are small and less powerful than yours. We need to be careful on weight. Gas is very expensive too. Very few people drive V6, or car with more than 2.5 l engines. 3/4" mdf is 19 mm. This green material is 18mm.

We could not finish yesterday because of the rain here. Today sun is shining (30 ° C sorry guys !!!), so we will have the box in the car to test tonight. I work all day on thursday. We need to add a piece of wood to brace the port a little more. We found it was the only part of the box that was kind of weak. all the panels are so strong now ! we love it so far ! I have not read any review about this new sub, but someone in Martinique told me theN2 is not as good as the Gen2 BTL, and that Fi was becoming more average !! This guy is waiting for 2 Mayhems, saying AA was higher quality now than Fi. Don't know why. But he claims to be in contact with some Fi guy (I won't say who). He's trying to sell Fi and AA products, claiming he's an official rep. I will make a new topic to give my simple review of this beast !

I did not want to have a woofer in the smallest box it can accept. My trunk is small : the biggest ported box I can fit in in 3.5 ft3 and it takes ALL my cargo space ! With this 12" I can put the hatch cover back in its place, have a little room in the trunk. And it will be easier to re sell or to add a second for any buyer. I don't know yet if I will keep this sub for long. I never did that, as I always find someone who want to buy my equipment for good cash money (more than I pay for it, but don't tell anybody !!!). this 12" BTL will go in a slot ported box : 2.1 ft3 at 32hz. but only on a Sundown saz 1500.
