I did the same thing, but with 15" s. And I loved the upgrade ! No regret at all!!! You WILL notice the change ! Louder, heavier, stronger bass. But I have the feeling the Icon goes lower.

Two 15"s in a trunk ?! You have such a big trunk in an impala ?

try to find a good used or refurbished amp. Sometimes there are great deals to take advantage of. But any of those 3 you've listed will do the job ! Take a look at db-r.com. 1500 or 2000 watts : you won't hear any difference in output. Don't be dead set on a 2000 watts mark. Good luck and merry Xmas.

You should worry about the box. I can tell that the box plays a HUGE part. A box can be perfect for a car, but not for yours. I have tested different situations in my car and in other ones with. The same subs and boxes. Now I know what to use in my own car. Get a BL if you want, but don't put it in a bad enclosure. Good luck.

I currently use an L7 S15 in a ported box, and it sounds "good" and gets really loud on my Sundown 1500 at 2 ohms. I have not metered anything, but it seems as loud as my Xcon in the same box on 1500 watts. It does not sound as good though. and by far ! and does not goes as low IN THE SAME BOX. I have no bass for a few weeks, so maybe I don't really remember how loud was my Xcon !!! I'm waiting to order a round sub now !!! No more square for me !!!!!!

I recently heared a set of JBL speakers? I don't know which one (not the gti's) but it sounded well and was not really well installed. the owner was using several Audiopipe speakers at the same time. The single set of JBL was playing so much louder and cleaner than all the other speakers !!

I can see a lot of you guys, are getting these Crescendo speakers. Are they really so good? Or is it only because they're cheap ? On the cheap, I read a lot of good reviews about the Phenix Gold rsd component set. Personnaly, I'd get a set of Bravox, here at the ssa store.

Why do you need so much midspeakers and tweeters ? And all that on a single 4 channels? I hope you have fantastic deals on these amps. There was a 4 channel Boss amp in a group buy here on ssa. Port your wall. Walls are made to be loud, aren't they ? so, why seal it ? You can buy 2 Fi bl 18" and be really happy with them. they should love your 3000 watts.
