I'm in the process of sound deadening my car a little. It's a Mazda CX-5, a 4 small door SUV. I want to buy some Secondskin products. In my cart I have 32 sqft of Damplifier B-stock and one sheet of LLP. Will I be able to do my front doors with the Damplifier and the LLP correctly ? I will use the leftover for my trunk and trunk lid. I know I wont buy the special adhesive, as it's an overseas delivery (by plane). I hope I am making the right choice. I don't want to spend too much on that project.

If your stock battery is so tiny, get a bigger one as a secondary. Or try to replace the stock one with a bigger one first. Running 750 to 1000 watts to a good sub in a good box, you will not be able to enjoy the mids and highs, or to use a HPF. I would try to install a 2 or 4 channel amp. You can find really cheap amps, you don't need a lot of power. Your head unit won't "give" more than 20 watts per channel usually (at full tilt). A 2 x 50 amplifier or 4 x 50 will do the job. Some cost less than $100 brand new.

I would try a 15" in a Cruze with those max dim. I'd rather have the sub in an optimal enclosure. That would leave you room for amp, batteries, everuthing else,...and maybe some space for groceries !

I know a member here, who lives in St Marteen (in the Caribbeans), with a Hyundai tucson or a Kia. He has a HO alt from Mechman or Singer. I don't remember which one, but I was so jealous : I can't have any HO on my Mazda CX-5 ! He has ordered a few for some friends, driving Kia or Hyundai cars.

A recone kit and a new basket : and my 12" BTL neo became a 15" one ! From years ago, it is still playing with its brother in my installer's car, on a Sundown NS-1. Easy to do ! Enjoy your sub on that powerful amp.

The CAR will be loud with that setup : it's a Dodge quad cab 3500. I don't know how the( Soundqubed 4500) amp can be loud : it's an amp, it works in silent usually.

That 3500 should be very loud with this 18 ! Post some pics when you get the sub, if you can. We love pics !

The ER can play much lower than 70 Hz. I totally agree, but I like some "fart music" sometimes ! Only one of my tweeters is dead, but I can have a replacement one for free, hopefully. The second one fell off the mounting ring we made. I'll fix everything this afternoon. Ok ! I put the Focal TN 52 back in. Mids Er 18 : HPF 70Hz @ 24 dB (I tried 6 db, 12, ...until I found 24 was better. Those speakers were playing so much bass) LPF at 3800 Hz @ 6 dB. They're on 2 channels of my amp, so I bet they won't ever receive more than 40 w rms, and they're louder than ever ! Tweeters Focal TN52 : HPF at 3800 @ 6 dB. Until I can afford a better sounding pair. I will enjoy that setup a few days, then I'll work on the Time Alignment this next week-end.

Sorry, don't worry, they're even cheaper from France for me. Money is tight ...and Xmas is coming...
