15" Xcon in a ported box
Hu guys, This is my third box for my sub. It's the loudest one! Now, I feel That I have a really powerful system !!! The design is coming from Bromo. I bought the2 4" ports at Madisound : it was a pleasure to deal with them. Fast (very fast) answers, they shipped my order the next day, and they gave me the choice for the shipper. Loved it ! first box was a L ported box : 3.5 ft3 at 32 hz with sub and port up. It was taking ALL my cargo space and was not really powerful. I can't understand why; it was sooo loud in another smaller car with the same sub. second box was 3 ft3 sealed, firing up or back : I lke it, seems louder than the first one ! More cargo space left, This box NOW : The sub : Working on the bracing : The HUGE ports in : Carpeting in action : DONE : Another look inside : Screwing the ports to the box : Terminals :

New radio, but bass is now gone?
When you're on the settings menu, go to the LPF and then you just push up the knob. So you can have the settings to level up or down the db on the bass : maybe this is set to - 25. You can go up to + 5 The main (on the right when you look at the h u) knob can be pushed up, down, left and right ! It can rotate too ! Good luck. This is a great h u. The only options I miss on mine are usb reading and maybe the fact that I can't use no more the factory "remote" on the...steering wheel. Must add/buy some more connector and gear.

2 15" BTL or 2 15" SMD
Smd :3500 rms at about $1000 for one. Btl : 2000 rms, look at Fi website, should be under $500. With a 3500 watts rms amp you can run 2 btl's with a strong electrical system. You'll need another amp for the 2 smd's, and a much bigger electrical system. The AA Mayhem looks nice too. I read somewhere it can play lower than the btl. I'd love to try a 12" Mayhem one day !!

What amp for my 18" Fi SSD?...
Sundown saz 1000 or sax 1200 : you can find great deals on used ones. But there are a lot of amps in the market : the 1000 watts Audiopipe amps are cheap. Clarion has some cheap amps too. Take a look at the ssa store, and of course ebay is your friend for amazing deals !

Wall Enclosure
You think big !!! 4 sets ! Why don't you try to fit an 8" midbass, a 4" mid and a 1" tweeters on each side ? It might sound better than several sets of the same speaker. I would love to do that in my car, but I can't find a good installer for that kind of upgrade.

Wall Enclosure
I'm not a specialist, but this looks good. even if I don't like walls so much. It's cool to look at, but usually that don't leave a lot of room for driver and passenge r. I hope your car is strong enough for all this weight ! What speakers will you run for front stage? On what amp? You may need a few speakers to "keep up" with the 4 subs !!! I know you got mad skills, so I will follow this build !

Getting an 18, What are the requirements?
X 2 I thought no one was going to say this ! Thank you ! S4Matt, I agree, totally !!! That seems to be the best and cheapest way to do it. But he will have to sell 2 subs later instead of just one. Obviously he will want to change his subs for btl's or more!

current draw
Yeah, stick with the second 1500. So you can save money for a strong HO alt. You NEED one !

Stinger voltmeter
Sorry for the threadjack, but what do you think about a voltmeter in the cig lighter? Does it give the voltage of the car ? Can it be accurate, just to have a general idea of the car electrical system ? Is it better to run a voltmeter on the distribution block, near the amps ? I have only one battery, under the hood. Sorry again Bangin' !

best enclosure
Welcome ! Your box seems really small, but I don't know what do this sub need ! You'd better look at the specs on the Pioneer website. Your amp is powerful enough for the sub (more than 1000 w rms )

Horrible rattling
sounddeadenershowdown.com or Secondskinaudio.com : they have a sub forum here. They're both cheaper and more efficient than Dynamat. They will give you good informations about how to use their product. Don't use peal&seal product that you can find for house, roof, buildings ! Good luck !

Finding the right amp for a odd ohm load
I'd rather get a Cadence amp than an Audiopipe, but that's me ! You need a class D amp for the bass. AP is cheap, Clarion has some cheap & good amps too. Audioque may be a little more expensive, but take a look, you never know. Even an Alpine pdx 1000 is not so expensive on ebay! Take your time to choose. There are too much amps on the market to focus only on the Audiopipe ! You can find wonderful deals on used amps or at db-r.com.

Help selecting 2 12's and an amp
They love sealed box ! and ported too !!! You can use a 2000 watts amp for them, for sure ! But 1500 watts is enough. I don't think you will be able to feel the added power! This 1500 watts amp is a beast (!!!) Read some topics in the ssa sub forum to get more informations.
