  1. its the same guy (same youtube vids....) no he didnt give the money back. oh, and check the car.
  2. Ok i won't. Quoting Shizzon here, parentheses are me: sub out on HU is set to maximum output. (check) check voltage at amp terminals(this will also verify good ground as well) (will do when it's NOT so late) check your filter settings on your amp. (check) Check to see if u got the rcas plugged into the correct output on the HU. (only on preamp out, so check)
  3. I dont have it hooked up...should I? I mean i have nowhere to hook the other side to.....and i do have a sub vol on my HU, which i turned all the way up and that helped a little, but i just didn't have to do that with my last setup. *edit: last setup was a T1 and an Excelon 2ch amp
  4. ya i know its not a bass boost...that what tipped me off lol....whats this about the remote gain? i really think thats my problem....is it the ehternet looking cable that came with the amp?
  5. woops....its an Audioque 1200D and the sub is a SDC2.5 *edit: i have it wired to 2 ohms....i've checked like three tiems...
  6. So to get any decent volume out of my new sub, i have to have the gain on my new amp really high.....too high and the bass boost up pretty far too. I know the RCAs arent the best, and its a sony HU.....but still, any ideas?
  7. Well he deserves respect only if he paid the people(s) he ripped off....which he hasn't....but CA did go too far with the kids, i'm on your side on that one. ONLY that one...
  8. Haha actually in my event. it means the WRONG blade lol! The first blade i used was definitely not made to cut that kind of wood.
  9. Almost done with it. Screwed it together, for the most part, and started sealing it. Figured out something else....it's too big to slide in and out of my trunk, meaning i have to assemble the rest IN the trunk.....ugh
  10. Nice catch JBL.....can't mistake his daughters hair lol.
  11. Haha when is it too loud? Dude read all the posts! Thats pretty much what they all talk about.............
  12. My god.....I just spent like $600 and that was more than i wanted to LOL!! Haha oh well Great build, definitely cant wait to see it finished!
  13. Ok So i did some more fitting and checking....man am i going to have to build a better box in the summer lol! But here's some pics.... look a little to the right of the speaker....the box is just high enough so the top scrapes on that bump nice snug fit lol After i put the "step" in....can you say close fit? And an even closer fit =/ My ghetto fix for the speaker hanging too low.....i don't like it.... How can i fix my speaker? To make it sit higher? Well all in all, it's been a great learning experience Any tips on how to put the box together?
  14. Man i wish i had half your skill....haha and a car worth half as much as that one
  15. Didn't know about the 9:1 8:1 ratios, thanks! I'll keep that in mind for next time
  16. Haha yeah i'm alread looking back and thinking, "Now why didn't i do it this other way? And what did i do that for?" LOL but it's all really fun, just cant wait to get my subs!!
  17. Did a little bit of work today....cut the back at an angle so it fits the side pieces, but thats about it. It was cold and windy today, which makes for a cold, irritated and very sawdust filled me.....but there was progress!
  18. Thanks for the link! Good info in there. Haha I'll have to go look at that again when i build another box.
  19. Haha that i will! I'm hooked on car audio, so the more i learn, the more i'll want to do Even the guys on here hitting 140+ db change their setups fairly regularly lol
  20. Yeah definitely figured that out......I'm planning to building a better, cleaner, more precise box this summer so that should turn out way better because of all I've learned so far.
  21. Hmmmm....you're right.....let's see. Everything is inside dimensions. The area should be .5(base1 + base2)wh=.5(19.5 + 23.25)(29)(14)=8678.25in^3=5.022cuft If i want 4 cuft and a port tuned to 38Hz (DJ said is would sound better for daily) then my port dimensions if i put the port horizontal across the bottom are L=20 w=29 h=2.25 Now the volume of the port plus the thickness of the wood is (20)(29)(3)=1740in^3=1.01cuft The subs, according to DJ=0.1cuft 4.582+.441=5.023cuft and -1.21cuft for displacement so 5.022-1.21=3.81cuft So I'm still off, which I figured out right after i cut the top, and i'm going to fix it by using "steps" on the top" (see my build log). Kinda sloppy, but I'll probably just end up building another better box this summer.
  22. The sound stuff: AQ1200D amp 2 12" SDC2.5s So after reading all these build logs, i decided to try to build my own box It's not too bad so far for a first try....and the first time using a skil saw LOL. This is all going into a 1999 Civic sedan also here's some pics! My trunk Yes I'm going to fix that gap....i have to cut the top, put those "steps" in place so the subs and port can all fit like they will be on the front. Also need to cut the port back one inch, overestimated it cause i did like five different boxes before i got everything fit. And this was the easiest way to do it, which isn't too bad. I think it should turn out pretty good! What do you guys think? Any pointers to make my box better?
  23. Haha after seeing this, it inspired me Very clean very clean! ANd i love the BMW insignia
  24. OK scratch the above....tell me if these are good measurements. The subs are going on the vertical face, not the slanted one. Ideally these are my outside measures: depth bottom=24.75, depth top=20.25 width=30.5, height=15.5 Inside: db=23.25, dt=19.5, w=29, h=14 I got 5.022cuft..........port measurements (for the inside right?): L=16, W=5.75, H=14 Area=80.352sq in. tuned to 40hz (i assume its 40hz from Audioq's website) I used http://www.mobileinformationlabs.com/HowTo...0Volum_1%20.htm to check myself... Please tell me if these are all the right numbers for 2 12" SDC2.5s! Thanks
