  1. Hey, make sure you add some of that deadener to the back of those. It will really help them. Also if you can cut a ring of .5" MDF and add to the back to screw the mid to it helps. I have these and they are pretty flimsy out of the box, but with the above done it really helps out a ton. Looking good Dad!
  2. Get the biggest one you can with your budget. The ability to lower gains settings is a good thing.
  3. Looks Great!!!!! Looking forward to your vid.
  4. Honestly it depends on the woofer. The xcon for example with it high excursion capabilities and high power handling will get damn loud in a sealed box. The pro's for a ported box is a big peak around tuning = louder, but for SQ that is also the con. You really dont want a big peak at any frequency unless just getting as loud as possible is your goal.
  5. Nice. Happy for you that it got sorted out.
  6. Well it sounds like you really know what you want and have done your research on all these. I would just buy 2 of whatever costs the most, put them in the smallest box you can build and strap 2 sundown 4500d's on them.
  7. just put in a large order on sick new stickers , should be next week. I want!
  8. The icons are great subs and you would not be disappointed with that choice. I would suggest you to measure your mounting depth up front. If you can get a nice 6.5" component set up there even if you used a MDF ring adapter you would have more potential for better sound. (ie midbass) Also, I would skip the rears all together and put that money into deadening and sealing your front doors. In the end you will be glad you did and you wont even miss the rears if you do it right up front. What car do you have? Are you going to amp your front components?
  9. congrats~ keep tweaking and kick his ass next time
  10. Good point, I am guilty of this myself. I guess I like shopping with other peoples money. lol
  11. troof Really? Reliability has been excellent with my Maxxsonics amps so thats not an issue and I think they sound pretty damn good, but if say a JL or a ARC amp will make my system sound so much better i may need to rethink my set up. So how much better would my system sound if I were to run different amps? I mean it will sound better if I spend a bunch more right? Opinions? No one can hold your hand here, time to separate from mamas tit Edit, not worth it and too easy. I am quite pleased with what i have, comment was tongue in cheek douche bag.
  12. yes you can bridge 2 channels mono to your subs and have 2 running stereo to your comps.
  13. Look at the build logs on various audio sights. Read and ask questions. People love to talk about themselves and their toys. There is nothing hard about it, just takes time.

I will be your friend if you buy my drinks.
  15. Happy Birthday.
  16. Dont even know if deadener can help that. Thats pretty nasty. You could add some MDF and closed cell foam to the rear deck, that may help you there, but that trunk needs more metal or something. lol Good luck man.
  17. Is that 3-4 cf after sub and port displacement or before?
  18. Sealed box? You could try it as is and if you need to tweak it glue some mdf inside to take up volume. Now if its ported you would change tuning by doing this but prolly not much.

  20. Amps don't change sound your settingS do. Amps just make power.
  21. Are you running it bridged? Can you take a pic of the settings. I have two of these. 4125 and 480. I am happy to help if I can.
  22. Of course it would do well sealed.
  23. With those dimensions, you would have room for a 15" ported in an optimum box. If you have that space, get the 15.
