New component set
Look at the Image Dynamic sets. I had a set of the low end CTX and they sounded very nice. I would bet the higher end would be great.

I think am going to keep them sealed. I do not compete so the 1 or 2 DB gain is not worth it to me. I am serious when I say the XCONS get loud as hell sealed. If I change anything I may add some MDF pieces to take up space and see what happens if I were to go down from 3cf to say 2.5cf. You wont have that big peak sealed like you do with a ported box, but that's okay with me. They sound amazing sealed.

Sae 1200 on stock alternator?
More of a lateral move then an upgrade since you wont gain anything going from 1000w-1200w. Sundown is a nice amp tho and it is your money. Just asking because I thought the RD's were pretty nice amps. I have done the same a few times in my life just to change things up, so I am not one to judge.

Extra battery in back and you should be good to go. Whats wrong with the RD amp?

Do i have the power?
I have the Optimas and they are nice, but they do not have big AH numbers so you would need a bunch of them. Look at Deka or XS Power and get one big one. If I had it to do over again that is what I would do. Want to buy 4 Optima batteries? lol, but no seriously? how much do u want for the batteries? and where do u live cuz i dont want to travel 1/2 way across the US haha. and the 454.4 AH was way off cuz that video had wrong calculations. its much closer to 31.42 AH or somthing like that I am in SC you in MI. I doubt it would be a good deal for you. I will check on shipping and PM you what I can do. Which are you looking for? I have yellow and red.

Sir-Lancelot's Build Log - Updated July 17th - Page 8
I have been a busy man the past month and thought I would share the results. It's been cold and wet so the pics are going to be limited. Work was more important since time was a factor. Next house will have a BIG garage. Working in the elements has it's challenges. Lets get this party started. I decided I wanted to try the XCONS out sealed and I sure am glad I did. I still have HUGE output and the SQ improved in a big way. Nice tight bass that you feel in your gut. Amazing. Dont listen to that bullchit that you need a big ported box to get the XCONS loud. That is just not true and the people saying it have no experience actually doing it. These MF'ers wang in a sealed box. Here is the original box I got from Quentin at Audible Customs as part of his initial free box with woofer purchase. It was a great enclosure and the man has serious skills. I would recommend him to anyone. Little over 6cf ported to 34hz Out with the old / In with the new 6cf sealed Going to paint the box with the same paint I used below on my door pods. Next up was the challenge of getting some real mid bass up front. I have experimented with various component sets over the past year and spent a ton of cash only to be left with the same feeling. No mid bass. Finally, I found an excellent deal on a gently used set of Dynaudio 362's and had to jump all over it. I had no problems buying these used because I figured anyone who had these would have taken care of them. After some serious debate as to cutting up the doors in order to fit the 8" mid bass and watching BigRank's door pod build, I decided to jump right in and make myself some door pods. I had purchased a set of Q logic kick panels already so I went the easy route and used those. The door pods are another story. The woofer was too big to fit comfortably in the stock hole as one side had a dip and I didn't feel I would get a good seal to the door and baffle. Jumping right in with both feet. Sealed the doors. You can see the dip in the door to the right of the opening, it's about 3/4-1" deep. I have used a bulk pack of Damplifier Pro and a bulk pack of Dynamat Extreme so far, but all 4 doors and the rear hatch is solid. Masking off the door Laying the first layer of glass Setting up a skeleton The fleece. I was the only male in Hobby Lobby. Next challenge was getting a good seal and venting the door pod into it factory 6.5" hole. Home Depot plumbing department to the rescue. Toilet base drain FTW. Finished product, somewhat. The color is much closer in person that the picture suggests. I may end up changing this up a bit and trying the woofer and mids in pods and tweeters in the pillars, but if that happens, it will be spring. BIG BIG BIG think you to BigRank for posting his build log. It was his progress that made me jump right into this. I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. The passive crossovers are huge, but I found a nice little spot to tuck them away safe and sound. Put the under the cup holders in the center console. The amps under the 2nd row seats. Going to cover this in vinyl eventually. Crunch GP3000D and MB Quart DSC125.4 bridged to 2ch. 500w x 2 on tap to the front stage. I dare a musical peek to clip my signal. I was going to take some shots of my battery bank, but it's raining like crazy today so that will have to wait. I will get some pics of that when I do my HO alternator install. Thats about all I have for pics. Still got lots to do. On the to do list: I need to deaden my roof and stop the headliner from vibrating. This is driving me crazy! I need to add a layer of MLV or Ensolite to the front doors. I have an Iraggi amputator 260 amp alternator on the way that will need to be installed. I am very pleased with the way everything turned out. I have HUGE bass in the front doors now and the overall sound is very flat and crystal clear. I crossed the subs over at 50hz and let the Dynaudio take over from there. The only thing right now is my stage height is not as high as I would like. I need to do some EQ and see if I can help that out some, if not I will move the mids and tweeters up. Now that I have popped my cherry with fiberglass I am not afraid to take some risks and move the speakers around a bit to get a better sound stage. I am always open to criticism and suggestions so please do not hold back. If you see something I missed and can offer some advice I am all ears. I learn by doing and I have thick skin so don't bite your tongue if you know something I don't. Thanks for looking.

Which Alt
better pay close attention to what they do at idle. You could end up with less than stock if you are not careful.

Gounding amps
Best to keep the run as close to the amp as possible, but It does not seem to bother his set up tho, so go figure. I have mine grounded to the batteries in back that are about a foot/foot-1/2 away from the amps and the rear batteries are grounded to the frame below. The frame is probably another foot foot-1/2 to the amp.
-
Lowest acceptable voltage
The problem with low voltage is that it damages your amp. Yes it will still play and amplify a signal, but that one time 1,000 watt amp may only be putting out 750 watts after seeing low voltage situations and it will keep getting worse until one day it gives up. A battery rests at 12.4, it would be advised to keep your voltage above that at all times to be safe.

Amp cut off, low voltage why?
woofer wired correctly? To me that edlectrical sound pretty good for just 1000w.

AQ2000d vs MB Quart DSC-2000.1D
Bingo and well said !! Being 39 and having had a system or two in my life there were some hard lessons in my youth to learn that. When you keep replacing things over and over no matter the brand there is only one common denominator and that is what you see in the mirror. I have not blown and amp or a speaker since my early 20's. Take care of your purchase and it will take care of you.

AQ2000d vs MB Quart DSC-2000.1D
Glad to know you have an arseho. Part of my dislike for the MB is what Maxxsonics has done to them. Check out their "new" components. They should really have a crunch label and not an MB. They are doing everything they can to get mainstreamers to buy based off past reputation and considering what they have done to the other companies they have swallowed I am 100% sure that they are cutting corners they shouldn't on components and assembly on their amplifiers. Pre-Maxx purchase MB's are more than fine. x2, if your on a budget then those might be the amplifiers for you (they are good budget amplifiers from what I have heard and from people on here). I dont buy used but I would buy a used Sundown all day over these products. I been down the mainstream line of products and there are only certain brands that I would use and these guys are not one of them. It is up to you at the end of the day, it is your money and your equipment (just make sure you way all your options and pick what is best for you and your application). *Also there is no difference in between the two sound wise, the only differenece will be price wise and that is it. Everyone is on a budget some large some small. I look for value and I feel for less than $150 shipped the MB Quart is (for now) a good value for my money. Time will tell if i feel that way in a week, a month or in 5 -10 years. I take excellent care of things i spend my money on so I am a very good lab rat. If I am wrong, I will be the first to say so, but as of today right now I am happy with the Maxxsonics products I own and so is my wallet.

Pre-Maxx purchase MB's are more than fine. I agree 100% on the components. Old school were the chit. Not so much now. Yes, they should be marketed under the Crunch lable until they come up with a higher end line up to do the MB Quart repetutation justice. In my opinion the best budget comps are the ID CTX. I will have to disagre on the amps. At least for now, the DSC and the Crunch GP3000 amps are well built and priced very nice. Not all the Crunch amps are as nice and maybe all the MB Quart amps are not either, but the guts on the DSC4150 are comparable to much more expensive amps and it does rated I am sure of it. I bridged the DSC4150 to 500w x 2 to my front (of course the gains are down) and it's quite good. This amp cost me less than $150 and that is a GREAT value in my opinion. Amplifiers take a signal and make it louder there is no voodoo that makes one sound significantly better than another. All that said I am NOT knocking Sundown at all. They are excellent amps, but just because everyone has one does not mean I have to run out and get one too.

I do not see anything wrong with the MB Quart. I have the DSC 4150. It is a very nice amp and is well built. Opinions are like arseho everyone has one. Pay more all you want to but I thought I would throw that out there.

I got my new xcon YAY! here is my short review.
Drop the LPF to 80 or even 60 if your mids can keep up. You will like it better, I bet. That 15 is not a midbass. That box should be fine for the XCON. They do well at the low end of recommended. I had mine in a little over 3 each tuned to 34 or so and they did just fine. I agree with the above, it takes a while to break these suckers in. Mine also sound better and better as time goes on.

whats your 9 to 5?
