Double check the strand count. Most wire they carry that large has a few big strands, you dont want to use that. Just get it from weldingsupply.com.

One thing I can tell you too that helps with our trucks is to pull down that headliner and put some 3/8-1/2" foam between it and the roof and spray foam between the headliner and the ac vents on the roof. Mine made a god awful noise slapping the roof. MUCH better now. Unfortunaly, it never ends.....fix one thing and something else will drive you crazy.

If it's too big you can always tune it down by gluing wood to the inside. Just play around with it until it sounds good to your ear. Better too big then too small - you have more options.
